    On my 2003 Toyota Tundra work truck, my dash speedometer light went out. I check fuses and they were all good, so I decided to take the instrument cluster out and check it. So I searched videos to make sure there weren’t any tricks I needed to know to get it out. I found this video and was surprised after watching it that the lights were actually replaceable! I just assumed they were soldered in and I would have to go buy a whole new cluster (I’ve never taken a cluster out, so I didn’t know what to expect). This video showed me exactly how to remove the panel and how to remove the bulbs. Off to the local auto store and back in 5 minutes with 2 new bulbs. I pulled the old ones out (reminded me of and old flash bulb for an old Polaroid camera), plugged the new ones into their holders, twisted them back in, reinserted the instrument cluster and tested them out! That did the trick!!!! Thanks so much for the great video!!!

    Easy to follow. Thank you for the video. Thought it was going to be a lot more complicated than it was. I thought I was going to have to pretty much take apart the whole underside of that as opposed to pulling it forward.

    Did anyone tell you you shouldn't touch the bulbs with your fingers? The oil off your fingers shortens the life of the bulbs? Part of my dash lights are all out. I'm checking all fuses with a test light to make sure the fuse is not blown. Then after doing so and it is the bulb , bulbs .
    Replacing them. Oh one trick I wanted to share . A magnet, from a old speaker or a tool magnet bar . A big speaker magnet? I take my screw drivers and place the tip of the screw drivers. Makes those hard to get screws out. By using a magnet over night or a tool bar magnet is awesome.
    Loved your video. For showing how to pop the cluster pannel off.

      These are low energy light bulbs. They are incandescent. Now if they were headlights, then you shouldn't touch them.

      Believe what you like .
      Its something I learned. The bulbs to admit heat. With that said, a pr of rubber gloves are much easier to put on and handle bulbs. Heck the rubber gloves also help grip them tiny bulbs.

    ATTENTION: The T4.2 neo wedge bulbs for my 2003 and 2004 Toyota Tundra Limited trucks for the PRND21 and overdrive. If bulb doesn't light up turn 180° and reinstall.

    Thanks for the video! I have a 2003, with the drive, oil, temp, and bottom half of the tach lights out. besides the drive light (which in all honestly has been out for about 12 -15 years) all the others in rhe last 6 months I guess. Seems odd, but everything has a shelf life..what are the chances they make a LED replacement bulb that would just plug in and work..? Thinking I should just change out all of them. Anyways. Thx dude

    Are the warning lights just as easy to replace - all are out. Could that be a signal for something worse at play? Thanks.

    Hi! The multi information display panel seem a little dimmer. Is there a bulb replacement for this? We have a 2003 Sequoia.

    Changed out 4 T10 bulbs on my 03 ac and now my seatbelt warning light and the 4Hi light on the dash isn’t working after I hooked everything up. Both lights works just fine before I took it apart. Any idea what could’ve happened before I replace those 2 bulbs? Looks good when I did this.

    • @theotherguy3083
      @theotherguy3083  2 роки тому

      Could be that the bulbs died. Either that or when you plug in your wiring harnesses, you didn't plug them in correctly.

      Gear selector bulbs are Neo 4.2 or 4mm bulbs., dash backlight has 4 T-10 bulbs and one T-5 near the 70 to 90 mph area of the speedometer. Warning lights on dash are mostly T-5 bulbs. Dont make the gas tank empty warning light an LED, that circuit uses variable voltage and an LED will light up all the time. Use incandescent bulb for the gas warning light. Hope this helps.

    Kind sir: My OD light is out on my 2001 Tundra. Do I assume the procedure for replacing it is the same? I can't quite pick it out in your video, but I'm assuming it's there somewhere. Thanks!

    How much did you pay for the bulb? When you ho the junkyard, typically how much do they charge for the parts? Looking to rebuild the front end of a 2004 Tundra. OEM prices are ridiculous.
