I'm a retired plumber. I've seen some bad infestations under houses and in crawlspaces. I have never seen anything even close to that That house needs to be condemned. An infestation of that magnitude must even affect the neighbors properties. Disgusting, there is no excuse for that.
I would have to disagree. Mental illness and disabilities can bring people to hoarding and these unfortunate situations. No one in their right mind would live like this 🤷🏻♀️.

This was obviously filmed to show the severity of an infestation, but the reality is it is beyond treatment. Everything in the house would have to be removed and treated. There are too many places for the roaches to hide, and they will reproduce rapidly.
Having watched the whole clip, he did mention the family of whoever stayed there do want to throw everything out but needed a pest control to thin the numbers first. Which kinda makes sense come to think of it? Can't carry all that thrash out without cockroaches just swarming with every movement.
Exactly. I remember when I discovered bed bugs for the first time. It was gut wrenching. I started cleaning, bagging, and processing everything like it was a crime scene. Everything came out and worked from the ground up.

I've been a Pest Technician for over 8 years at this point. I've seen every home condition there is to offer. This is among some of the worst I've seen in person. I would like to state that even though these conditions are deplorable to most, this is normal for some people. You have to treat every home the same, no matter how disgusted you may be. Their belongings get treated as if they are made of precious gemstones. You give them respect cause it's their home. They may not see it as 'terrible' but still know it needs to be taken care of. I've worked miracles for people. Seeing the relief on their face, knowing they have someone to trust to take care of a serious issue, makes the job very rewarding. I also would not have thrown their belongings on the ground like that, though lol
@1v1e_nails It is a pretty gnarly case. In situations like these, most would love to pay extra since they feel they'll get a more thorough service. Although I have cut my own earnings to take care of some situations where it truly wasn't their own doing to cause such cases. You do have to bring the results, though. If not immediately, then let them know its quite the process. Education is free in my services, and I always encourage as many questions as they can ask. If they can't think of anything to ask, I'll usually have them there with me so I can explain what I'm using, why I'm using it, and what to expect from it. Although, it's up to the resident if that information is useful.
@TravisWilliams_ Absolutely in a home with these conditions. Of course, you'd want the residents to be out of the home since a full suit can give them an uneasy feeling towards the place they live their lives in. Desiccated roach matter getting into your lungs is no joke. Many children with prolonged exposure to roach matter will develop breathing issues into early adolescence and so on. It will also enhance the effects of breathing issues in adults

My friend could never question my loyalty in the friendship again😂. Actually last year, a roach randomly showed in my apartment. In TN they call them “palmetto” bugs something but all I know is it looks like a big roach. Instantly got pest control here, I didn’t see more in my apartment but they showed up on balcony. Just wanna let yall know, roaches are nocturnal creatures so if you’re seeing them during the day that means there’s literally thousands inside the walls. I am not sure how to handle that but that house is absolutely not livable.
I’m a former pest control tech. A house with an infestation as bad as this one was my exit from the industry. Never looked back. Much respect for the techs still in the industry today. Some people have no clue how filthy customers homes can be, and what pest control techs deal with. I was young, not married yet, and no children. It was easier for me to walk away then.
Dude I feel ya, I’ve been doing this for 13 years, and it never gets any better. Most of these customers don’t clean, or take personal responsibility for how their home has gotten trashed. Then some of them have the nerve to call in and complain when the product you use has little to no affect because of the poor sanitation. At certain times though, some of these houses I’ll walk in and walk right back out.

@Pitbulllover77-y3l who ever lives here has some mental issue(s), clearly, but to mark them as a lost cause unworthy of happiness? Is not the move, in my opinion
I once went to a friends house for a party. I didn’t know he had roaches until I arrived and I was disgusted and made sure to not eat, drink, or get comfortable. After arriving home I made sure to take my clothes off outside before going into my place. A few days later, I noticed roaches in my vehicle!!! I had to treat it. Fortunately none where in my crib, but that was an awful experience.
It’s funny how someone said you won’t bring them home. They are very good travelers! If you step on eggs you can carry them home also and most people don’t know that!
It's insane people let pests get this bad. I'm the same way as you, I had noticed a few mice once spring rolled around in my new neighborhood and I quickly bought bags of steel wool plus foam sealant to keep those fuckers out. Haven't seen one since
They’re nearly contagious especially German roaches….theyll hitch a ride on luggage, bags etc and once they’re in your house it can easily get out of control. They reproduce very fast.
Ngl, definitely amateur hour right there. I dunno...I just dont think that was smart to do whatsoever. Unless a trained professional can tell me otherwise lol. I'd hate to be the neighbors of this house when he did that.
I agree, I don't like the fact he did that either but to be fair you've got to keep in mind Every time they took there trash outside the roaches would absolutely be in and out of the bag so there were some going outside no matter what
Before you went there, one house had a bad roach infestation. After you went there and dropped roach-infested crap outside, the entire neighborhood has a bad roach infestation 😂
@@teddyjones8550 I disagree. The house is their habitat, they have no reason to go outside, considering how well they live inside. Meanwhile by just throwing them right out, they will be forced to move around and find a new place to live in.
If this is a senior, you should call Adult Protective Services in that town. They have access to services to clean up her home. Besides the bugs. It affects her health. Please do that!
My uncles schizophrenic roommate brought bed bugs into their home. When I discovered them, and called an exterminator, they said that by as many as were on her bed I threw out, they had to have been there like 18 months or more. His insurance paid for the exterminator (if it wasn't for his insurance, she would have been fucked).and they never spread beyond her room until they came to spray. The insurance used Ehrlich. 8 God damn times they came to spray and the bugs were still there! We had to go through hoops but eventually got another company to come out after Ehrlich had come 8 damn times and the bugs weren't gone...took the other local company 2 times. Idk how my uncles roommate didn't know she had 1000 bedbugs in her bed. I'm highly allergic to them and get dime sized welts if one bites me. I'll know within 5 minutes if someone has them and I get bit while sleeping. The bite itches so bad and for so long (approximately 15 min) that I will wake up after being bit. His roommate doesn't take her meds and my uncle is disabled and can't walk.,,,I thought that was bad. This place is 1000 times worse.
I did pest control for years - I've been in homes like this multiple times. Having the family still living in the home at the time makes this process about 1000x harder.
@@doxoxo779 , I've worked on homes likes this and it takes several treatments. It's best to get it taken care of when it's first noticed, but it rarely is, either due to lack of money, embarrassment or both.
@doxoxo779 there's German cockroaches they're the hardest to get rid of. I had them in my bathroom when I lived in an apartment because they were actually coming thru the wall under the sink somehow from the apartment next door which was infested as bad as this. Everytime I thought they were gone they came back it was a nightmare. I only saw a couple in my kitchen and one in my bedroom (but they do say where's there one theres ten more hiding). Eventually moved. The whole building got gutted out and totally redone a couple years later. I can't fathom how anyone could be actively living in this house with this amount of bugs
@heatheroriordan5800 yeah they'll travel unit to unit on the hot water lines and pipe chases. Basis with extremely well nowadays, but when the tenants are continuing to live in filth an infestnation of this size will never be eliminated.
Not nessesarily. Just because that house is infested with roaches doesn't mean that they migrate to the neighboring homes. I have seen homes that were badly infested yet other houses only a few feet away had no roaches.
Just imagine what this place must be like at night and the lights are turned off…I bet the floor & walls are literally swirling! Sadly, this happens more often than anyone would want to admit. Can’t wait to see the the fridge.

I was a medic for almost 10 years and we wen to a 911 call for chest pain and as soon as we entered his house we had those little roaches crawling all over us. He didn’t want to go to the ER and I think I got the quickest refusal in all of history because the roaches were into everything. At another EMS place I worked at we got the ambulance dubbed “The Roach Coach”. We got food and had to get it to go because we got a call and by the time we were done and opened our food we had roaches all in our food. I was pissed off at that point and called the supervisor to put us in a different ambulance. He said they didn’t have any others so I asked him to let us use his and he could take the Roach Coach and when he realized I wasn’t willing to stay in that ambulance he switched us out. It’s inexcusable to have an ambulance with roaches climbing all over the patients.
This happened to a friend of mine. Everyone complained about one specific neighbor because of the roaches and when an exterminator came, the roaches came in WAVES through her vents because she shared a wall with that neighbor 😭😔
Exactly my point I was like BRO, him throwing the roaches outside just for them to run and crawl over to the neighbors house and infest it all over again

Reminded me of the time when I was moving into an old 1 BHK flat here in India. We knew there were cockroaches in there. So we called in a water tanker, brought its pipe inside through the window, and flooded the whole goddamn place, thinking it would flush out the roaches from all the nooks and crannies. When it all dried, we even fumigated it with potassium permanganate and formalin. We thought we'd eradicated the roaches successfully but they were back after 15 days. I moved out after 2 months.
I had bedbugs from the neighbor, he had an infestation and didn't tell the apartment manager, unfortunately he lived across from me, he was evicted because of it. Years ago I rented my basement apartment to someone who abandoned it, leaving food out and unwashed dishes and pots in the kitchen. Soon there were clouds of fruit flies. I saw a cat bowl, too. I really hope no pets live there. I met an elderly man in a wheelchair w/no friends/family. I started visiting once in a while. At the new care home he was moved to, there were bed bugs ALL OVER his tiny room; he'd smash them on the walls. So many elderly people have nobody to look out for/check up on them and they suffer in conditions like this because of it. It's so messed up
NYC has a bad reputation with roaches but the the most roaches I've seen "naturally occuring" were on the sidewalks of SoCal cities after dark. The Southwest itself just seems naturally infested with them to a degree I've not seen elsewhere.
So basically, you had the elder person's home condemned and demolished. Where did that elderly person wind up - scared, homeless and out on the streets sleeping on cardboard in cold, or wet, or blazing hot weather?🥺 You know housing in nursing homes aren't free.
@@mybackyardparrots9198my guess is that social services were involved and the residents got moved to different facilities, wherever there was a free bed. No, nursing homes are not free, but many will take Medicare/Medicaid if you have no other assets.
at this point these people don't know how to take care of themselves. most of those belongings are contaminated beyond remedy. emotions aside the safest thing for the person living in this house is if the house is destroyed with everything in it and the occupant moves into a mental health facility until they get their life on track. everything in that house with a porous surface is absolutely beyond redemption.
The bedbugs are absolutely freaking me out right now. I had a bedbug problem and the only way we knew it was because of the bites. The fact you are witnessing that many just out and about is horrifying.
Imagine the bites the occupant must have. She probably has infections, too. Poor thing. 😢 No one wants to live like that. There's definitely a medical issue contributing to the infestation.
I just don't know how you managed to live with it for even just one day. I just couldn't do it. I would end up being too afraid to sleep inside. I'd either sleep in my car or at work, or end up going broke by sleeping at motels (where I'd probably end up getting bit by bedbugs too). But if you have a family, you probably had no choice. I mean, growing up, I lived in many roach infested apartments. It affected me for life. To this day, I prefer sleeping with the lights on. I can't imagine what living with bedbugs would have done to me.
I can't imagine the difficulty treating that level infestation with all the stuff in the house. When I was young and poor, i had the misfortune of living in a couple of apartments that had roaches. When they would come to spray,i needed to have the place clean and certain stuff removed or boxed up, or they wouldn't treat the place. I can't imagine how much this person is suffering with their mental health that they allowed themselves to live in these conditions. I hope they also get some much needed treatment and have a better life. Nobody deserves to live like this and think it's ok. 😢
I agree! In fact, they should be placed in another home and leave all their belongings at the infested house, Clothes and all. I bet no one is living there. They wanted to make this vid a horror vid, as much as possible. And it was a horror to see that place!
The exterminators we have would've walked in, told me I hadn't complied with their instructions, and walked back out. They'd've also charged me a service call, and reported me to the apartment complex manager for noncompliance.
Just curious, what kind of “certain stuff” did you own that required removal or boxing up?? (LOL. Back before I cleaned my life up, my “certain stuff” was drugs and drug paraphernalia and stuff. That was back in 2006. I live another, clean and SO blessed life now.)

My truck had a infestation when I bought it. I just kept a bunch of roach traps in it. Never dealt with bed bugs though

That’s some good customer service. I can’t imagine charging customers an arm and a leg for something of this magnitude though. This is pretty extreme.
I would have thought a full tyvek suit would have been worn and as soon as your mask is damaged it should be taken out of service
May our Lord richly bless you for your compassion and respect for humanity.

You are a GORGEOUS MAN…. I don’t have Roaches but I’d let you come check my house to make sure I never get em 😂
I have unfortunately been in an apartment with this exact problem. I rented a room in an apartment and they lied didn't warn me, we moved in first night I was absolutely lit up by bed bugs, tried to fight it for a couple days ended up moving out and throwing everything away... absolutely everything it wasn't worth saving at that point. I was so pissed off
Sorry that happened to you that was probably quite traumatic
@@BrVi_7 every time I see bed bugs even in videos I instantly start itching, now I check every time I sit down somewhere if I move I check every place where they would be. It's definitely something that you never forget.

I hope you sued them

No they should feel shame
This is so sad, considering someone actually lives here. You can see that at one time this was a happy home, possibly filled w/ laughter & joy. Now it's just full of bugs. I pray the owner feels better soon.
Won't the cockroaches that you threw outside just spread to the neighbors houses?? If they haven't already. I have the creepy crawlies now😳
Job security tip of the industry one would suppose.. 😬
That was strange I thought too.
Yes, I watched them crawl from one trailer to the next he shouldn't have put anything outside.
i was fooking looking for someone to make that outside comment. i was like i cant be the only one thinking lmao

Take care of your elderly folks. We will all need more help as we age😢
I had bedbugs from the neighbor, he had an infestation and didn't tell the apartment manager, unfortunately he lived across from me, he was evicted because of it. It took almost a year for my apartment to be bedbug free, the exterminator was here pretty much every month. The bad thing is I'm extremely paranoid and I'm afraid to sleep in my crazy expensive bed.
I'm not joking, can't even believe I'm writing this comment. I used to live very briefly with a buddy of mine, he had a huge huge huge roach problem way worse than this. Every single night... I can't even describe it. I had to sleep with earplugs in my ears etc. This brings back so many memories... god. Seeing them around the cables, just like my computer had over at his house... whew.
I had fruit flies pretty bad this summer and I was embarrassed to have friends over. This is a level of unbothered I can’t fathom. We need more resources for metal health in rural areas.
don’t worry about it man real friends don’t give a shit about stuff like that they understand
@@mmaaj39that’s disgusting. Real friends are as dirty as you are, apparently.
Hey guys come on over and have a drink!!! 😂😂😂😮😮😮😂😂😂 Dear God can you imagine?
The same people in rural areas who need more mental health resources are the same ones voting against those resources.
Years ago I rented my basement apartment to someone who abandoned it, leaving food out and unwashed dishes and pots in the kitchen. Soon there were clouds of fruit flies. When I confirmed she wasn't coming back I had to go down and clean everything up. Fortunately, fruit flies are relatively easy to get rid of. I made several traps (using jars, paper cones and a vinegar/fruit combo) and within a few weeks they were all gone.
How in the hell can people live like this? Incredible

Will all those roaches go to another person's house?
I invision a full covering of the entire house with some sort of tarp, then set off an enormous bug bomb fogger to kill them all without letting them have a chance to leave.

Tent and fumigate, that’s a common practice. And needs to happen here for weeks. Then, a hazardous waste company needs to come clean that place. By throwing everything away and burning it. .

I’m in AWE at how many roaches were in that broom. That was unbelievable!!!!!!!!!
I'm in Silicon Valley and this place is infested with roaches; richest areas and all. This is so heartbreaking anyone was living like this; should be reported to social services. I saw a cat bowl, too. I really hope no pets live there. I met an elderly man in a wheelchair w/no friends/family. I started visiting once in a while. At the new care home he was moved to, there were bed bugs ALL OVER his tiny room; he'd smash them on the walls. Soon as I saw the place I reported them to the state and they got shut down/building demolished.
Where did that elderly person wind up - scared, homeless and out on the streets sleeping on cardboard in cold, or wet, or blazing hot weather?🥺
You know housing in nursing homes aren't free.
I just got home from a hotel with bed bugs. I'm traumatized now haha
It’s really easy to get bedbugs and they are only visible when the infestation gets bad enough. Definitely freaky
@@maggiee639 *"It’s really easy to get bedbugs..."*
How does one get bedbugs, then? By not washing bedsheets often enough, or what?
I work at a va hospital and a guy came in in a motorized wheelchair. He got out of it and the roaches just started falling off this thing.
@@scottmitchell3106 uh, more like food and dishes from cabinets, clothing from drawers, closets, medicine cabinet, etc so they could spray inside all the areas and not poison the food. (This was almost 40 years ago, I'm sure pest control substances are much safer now)
Dude that was really messed up to take that stuff outside and let them roaches go... you need to learn more to do your job properly. That was just straight up wrong to do. 😡
