Apply sooner rather than later because the application process can take a long time depending on what trade you go for, that's my advice. And start working on your cardio early, that way you have nothing to worry about on the fitness test. Good luck!

I done 12 years in the RAF, 87 - 99, last PO parade in 87 at RAF Swinderby. Good times.
All that then back to the 5 star hotel for tea and biscuits
The penny has finally dropped. Not an ethnic minority or apparent LGBGT etc, etc in sight on that video. Everyone has always been welcome in the RAF, it was having it shoved down our throats that put so many people off. Jacs, you're the star of the Ad, the porkies about the HMS QE had me howling with laughter.
I spent 10 years in the RAAF reserves in Australia and it was the best thing l ever did.
I am 7 years into my 9 year contract with the Royal Air Force and it is the best thing I have done, I love it
I got into the reserves last month, however started my application process in October 2022 so it does take a long time with numerous stages to get through. Some stages can feel arduous and painstaking but be resilient through all as it definitely feels worth it at the end.
How long after you submitted your application did you start your first phase
I'm just starting my RAF Reserves journey and got a date for my DAA. Really hope I can make it to the end,want to join more than ever and feel ready to put in the work ,a life change and a sense of purpose.

Sadly that's all the RAF will have just reserves. They haven't stopped the landslide of leavers. How long before sqns merge just so we can fly a few jets?

I would join in a heartbeat, but unfortunately born with a clubfoot which, despite not giving me any issues since correction as a kid, has barred me from all the services. Credit to those that serve.

Your available path is you'd need to gain British citizenship.. then apply, so long as you're young enough for a full time role.. reserves can be much older depending on the role though. It would be easier to get into the French Foreign legion from a right to work point of view.. and I do believe you get guaranteed French citizenship at the end.

If they live in the UK, and meet the age/fitness requirements, yes.
