Love how you have made something so effective with just bits of scraps, love the colours, saving all my left over emblishments from studio light pads x
You're so creative. Most of the other pocket letter videos I watched were just store bought stuff placed neatly into the pockets, but you're making you're own items. I love it!
Great video. I like that you showed the whole process. Sometimes seeing just the finished product seems overwhelming. I like how you broke it down. Thanks for sharing.
Hi wow what a good idea. I am a new subscriber and it is amazing what can be done with the scrapbooking stash and I do have allot of it. I am also into planners and all the goodies are great for that and all other smash, fauxbonichi , crafts etc. I will make some pages, I really have to try that and then I will find some pen pals even if it is just for a one time or more. I am a French Canadian and if there is some peoples want to share the pocket letter in French or English for me no problem. I want to say thank you for making this tutorial it is very generous of you. Have a great weekend.
I love the way you made this PL, you actually got me started on one that was laying here, with the papers cut and that was it....... I just couldn't see how to begin and now I do! Great inspiration!!! TFS!
Hi there, I'm about to create my first Pocket Pal at the invitation of another woman I met through a crafting group so I found your tutorial reassuring. Your work is delightful and cute, I think I'm about to become addicted!!! TFS, Amanda from Australia xox
Oh I love your pocket letter, wish I was your penpal :-) Whoever received that must have been very pleased. I definitely will be making these for friends. Thanks for sharing x
I wanted to say I look at many video dying to learn and u have been the first one I learn from thank you but thank you for taking your time to teach slow and piece by piece love it ..I just sub to u looking forward to learning with you..
I truly, truly appreciate the process video. Starting a new project is always intimidating for me but watching you in real time makes me really want to give it a try. Thanks for the share.
That is the neatest pocket letter. Love the corner bookmark. Got a lot of ideas from your video. Are pocket letters still popular. I'm new to scrap booking. Slowly getting supplies may take awhile. I'm on a very limited income. I use coupons all the time. My next purchase hopefully next month or definately by the end of the year will be a Cuttlebug and dies. Thanks so much for posting. Can't wait for more videoed love you tube. I usually do better seeing it done then reading instructions. ❤️
Thanks for watching! Yes, Pocket Letters are still very popular. The Pocket Letter Pals Facebook group has 8,000 members and growing every day. It's a lot of fun!
Hi👋🏼🖐🏼I never heard of a pocket letter before until maybe a month ago and still didn't quite know what they were ... Thanks to you I get it now!!! I made a few these last 3 days but now I know what I wasn't doing correct.. Lol oh boy my first one has a lot to make up for.. Ha ha TFS & being such a great help...🍂🎃🍂
Thank you i also appreciate you taking the time to do a pocket letter start to finish. i am new to it also I do Artist Trading Cards on Swap-bot.com and someone posted a swap for pocket lettering and I was just so excited when I watched one video she linked and seen your video off to the side. I also subscribed to your channel you have an easy way about you and made me feel less intimidated by this craft thank you!
i do really love it so far! i am did 2 surprise ones for my 2 best friends who live so far out of state and we trade ATC's this takes it a step farther!!! So, excited for them to get it!!
Very cute and creative. I've just recently heard about this and wanted to know more about it. Your video was so easy to understand compared to others I've watched.
love these glad you shared with us I am new at paper crafting so I have 2 odd questions what is the difference between a ATC and pocket letters? also what is the name of the plastic nine pocket cover that you are placing your pocket letters in? where would I purchased those? are they like baseball card protectors? thanks for any and all advice
The sleeves are Trading Card sleeves, I have purchased them at Target and Amazon.com. I believe that most ATC's are about the same size as a Pocket Letter card. :)
hi thank you for doing this. i've never seen these before and i make cards and do penpaling. this is soooo cool. thank you. where can i buy those pocket sleeves please.
How do you cut your cards so even I have only done 1 pocket letter and loved it, but had problems with cutting I'm loving everything I learn that's new, Very interested in pocket letters and pin pals so far I don't have any there is this wonderful lady on Facebook that is doing a pocket letter group that I signed up for this will be my Second time entering I'm excited to try some of the things I just saw you doing thanks for sharing,
So love these! Just curious - these aren't Project Life style pocket pages, right? You mentioned the sizes, which made me think they are different. Where do you purchase and what size are they?
laurie johnson Hi there! They are not Project Life pockets. They are trading card sleeves. The pockets hold cards that are 3.5"x2.5", so a bit smaller than Project Life cards. :)
Carol, I keep my Pocket Letters in a binder. Some people use the bits and pieces to make new pocket letters. It's all a matter of personal preference. :)
Great video...really enjoyed it! New subbie now! I have a question. Do you use repositionable tape on the cards so everything can be reused or are they mainly decorative and the useable items go in the back of the pockets?
Mostly the cards are mainly decorative and the goodies are tucked in either in front as part of the decoration or behind. It's really up to you though. :)
Love love love your vid!!! Thanks so much for sharing! Having only just (in the last week or so) heard about pocket letters and really wanting to get involved, can I ask if there is any etiquette for the back of the cards? or it that a personal preference. Many thanks :)
OK, pocket letters are totally new to me. This is the first video that I have actually seen. Please don't take this wrong but what are they for? I have heard them mentioned but never seen one until this video.
+Wanda Keeter Hi! Pocket Letters are a fairly new form of exchanging pen pal letters created by Janette Lane. There is an official Pocket Letter Pals group on Facebook where you can meet other Pocket Letter Pals and exchange letters. :)
Great tutorial!! I am little late to the party and I am getting ready to create my first pocket letter. You make it look very doable!! One question that I have.... I noticed that your pocket sheet has an emblem on the binding The ones I bought are the same way. They have a holographic emblem of the company. I haven't made mine because I didn't know if that would look bad. I was going to keep looking for more. Do they all have emblems? Thanks again!!
***** Hi Frances! Thanks for watching! Pocket Letters are so much fun. Great question! As far as I know all of the sleeves are going to have an emblem on the spine representing the manufacturer. I don't think anyone even notices them. :)
Thank you for getting back to me so quickly!! That's good to know!! I am now a follower of your channel. I look forward to seeing more! Take care!! :-)
Hi Tattedxbeauty! I used several punches for this pocket letter. All of them are from Stampin' Up! but sadly most are discontinued. I used the ticket corner punch for the concave corners, EK Success makes a version (I highly recommend it). I also used a small circle and scallop circle punch, I think they are both still available. I also used a small heart and tag punch. If you can tell me the spot in the video I can narrow it down for you. Thanks. :)
Sherbert Ink I just liked all of them. I had no idea the dept of everything we can make on our own. I enjoyed this video and will be checking out more so I can learn more ideas and make more PL'S and start putting them on my channel. :)
I really love this idea. I saw Andrea Gomoll's video as well as Jannette Lane's (not sure if I spelled it correctly). We all have tons of scrapbooking paper and embellishments which is perfect for this idea. I would love to do a one time exchange with someone to see how it goes. If you are interested, please let me know. Thanks for your great videos. I just subscribed to your channel as well. p.s. how did you make the corner bookmark?
Hi Rita! Pocket Letter pals has an awesome Facebook group as well as PocketLetterPals.com. We have reached 1000 members so there a lot of ladies to swap with. Splitcoaststampers has an awesome Corner Bookmark tutorial courtesy of Beate Johns. ua-cam.com/video/OSikT1Gjgyk/v-deo.html Thanks for watching and for subbing!
Hi Jean! Since this video is a few years old most of the products that I used are most likely discontinued. However, you should be able to find similar punches, 6"x6" pattered paper, prima flowers, and brads at your local craft store (Michael's or Hobby Lobby). You can also find these kinds of products from online craft stores. I hope that helps. :)
Apparently I was WAY too generous with my 1st pocket letter, I stuffed those pockets then had to mail it flat. After seeing how much more sparsely you filled each pocket I’ll cut way back from now on. I’m newer to this but haven’t seen anyone leave the side area with the holes for putting in the binder plain, I’ve only seen it decorated with ribbon, washi, bows etc....didn’t know that you could leave it plain.
Patricia Zilius Hi! I recommend joining a Pocket Letter Group. You can find them on Facebook by searching for Pocket Letter Pals, it’s the group created by Jeanette Lane (the creator of pocket letters). We have over 7,000 members so finding swap partners shouldn’t be hard. Happy swapping!
Love how you have made something so effective with just bits of scraps, love the colours, saving all my left over emblishments from studio light pads x
Thank you! I love seeing how far I can stretch my supplies and Pocket Letters are perfect for those odd bit and pieces. :)
Great idea for a birthday card, special occasion and/or photo album, too.
I'm new to pocket letters. I've watched a bunch of videos but this one is the best tutorial. Thank you for sharing for creativity.
Very cute, easy and loved the easy embelishments you made and last the corner pocket... tfs
Really enjoyed your tips and tricks....the recipient will surely love receiving your pocket letter. TFS
Thanks! :)
Great pocket letter. Thanks for sharing each step of the process. It's inspiring.
Trying it as a swap in my group. ...love your instruction and you demonstrating the ease of it all!
Great video. I love the pocket letter you created. The bid was so easy to follow.
I am just now learning about pocket letters. This is an absolutely adorable project. That paper clip flag at the end was perfect.

Francine Rollin oh my goodness! I think I might just end up getting into planners too, just getting into this poker letter obsession
I love the way you made this PL, you actually got me started on one that was laying here, with the papers cut and that was it....... I just couldn't see how to begin and now I do! Great inspiration!!! TFS!
Great directions that show simple is very beautiful! I so overthink and sometimes take out the fun. You've inspired me to do some simple designs. ♡
Wonderful tut. I always over think things before I start, but, your vid was clear and simple and beautifully done. Thank you.

HI! Thanks for watching. There are a lot of Pocket Letter swap groups on Facebook. :)

how do you make that corner holder... it's wondeful
This is the first time I've heard of Pocket Letters. This is really cute. Do you snail mail them? What size envelope do you use?
Leslie Morton Hi! Yes, they are snail mailed. We are keeping traditional mail alive! I use a standard business size envelope for mailing. :)
So pretty... and addictive !! ^^
TFS, hugs
Sabine
Thanks Sabine! :)

2.5" wide by 3.5" long for most trading card sleeves.
This was extremely helpful. Thanks!!!
I still use brads...I love them!
Love this idea!! Does it take standard postage ( one stamp ) or more? Just curious 🌺
I have been attaching two stamps just to be on the safe side.

Awesome page!
how did you get all the materials?
How do I start swapping. I've done a few but they r just on my desk. I would love to have a swap buddy.
