Just wanted to chime in that I've enjoyed the rotating third chair a lot more than I'd have thought. Very smart decision to not try and keep the format and "replace" Sam but to pivot into a new direction.
Plus, then if Sam ever gets to a better place (or takes a small vacation or w/e), he could also show up as a guest without changing the formula. Win-Win.
Thank you all for the kind words. Most of my content is on man vs Meeple and I also run a solo live play show on Facebook on the MvM page 3pm cst Self promotion OVER
Hey Jeremy, is there a place where we can see your top solo games of all time? Cause I think we have a similar taste and I'd be very interesting in see what you recommend.
@@NestorMandela not yet but you CAN head over to Man vs Meeple and seem my top 10 from last year along with some of my closest industry friends..lots of range and a couple crossovers.
you were great in the "games I hate video" and at Game# 9 in this video I'm liking you even more! You and Zee were FANTASTIC together! I hope there's plans for more videos in the future!
Love this top 10 with Jeremy! I’m loving this new top 10 format and your guests. The discussions are more in-depth and have more diverse point of views, which is a breath of fresh air for Dice Tower. Thanks and keep it up!
Jeremy absolutely enhances the fun DT culture! "Hey brother, tell my wife I love her." :D I cracked up so much throughout this episode. Please bring him back!
When you invite one of these guest reviewers onto the show, it would be nice to have a link to the guest's channel in the description. Where can I find more Jeremy?
UA-cam: ua-cam.com/channels/H0zVyfzKY_6yZz1pc0w2sg.html Website: jambalayaplaysgames.com/ Twitter: twitter.com/jambapg Actually wasn't that easy to find using just his name, they definitely need official links.
This has to be my favorite Dice Tower top 10 because of the dialogue. When I saw Jeremy Howard as the guest, I had to watch it immediately. I follow Mr. Howard on his channel, and love his take on games that don’t get a lot attention. His top 10 on this subject only is diverse and unique. His passion for games is infectious. If you subscribe to his channel, his energy does not change. Love the rotating guests, keep it up Dice Tower!
Jeremy really works well with this format but I might not like it as much if he was a permanent fixture. He needs to come in every so often to just throw these guys off their game. I love it. Good stuff. Great guest.
Best episode I have seen, since Sam left. Jeremy is great (I did not know about him previously), fits to Tom and Zee. Hope he will be invited in future episodes.
Jeremy made a great guest; thorough, passionate and knowledgeable. Was good to watch a Top Ten from the Dice Tower which actually had some interaction and open discussion of the picks for a change. So many of these is just three people going through their lists without much comment from the others. I remember the early days when Tom, Zee and Sam would share opinions on every choice. A good return to form.
I beta tested Hex-Plore It, the 1st edition. Yes, in Wisconsin. I felt it was like a mixture of Runebound and Defenders of the Realm. The designer had not heard of these games when I told him this.
I was going to joke "Sam would have crammed in Champions of Midgard, saying it was a game where you sent guys out on adventures", but Tom actually did it!
Great #1 pick Jeremy. Mage Knight is the only game I have where I can still recall stuff that happened in the games, or big victories, for a long time after playing! Epic masterpiece, and definitely an adventure
Much respect to Jeremy, fantastic guest! Also seems to understand what an adventure game is, and good ones at that. :) Where can we see more of your content?
I see the dilemma between adventure as something adventurous, dangerous, or exciting happening or to overcome vs. adventure as in a computer adventure game where you have to find clues to use at a later time in the game. I was hoping for more of the latter, but hey, can't always get what you want...
I love this category and so much overlap with games that I adore! HEXploreIt rules - crunchy RPG-In-A-Box game, played it once, had to get all three! 7th Continent is the best pure exploration/survival game that feels very zen-like in its gameplay. Tainted Grail is like the older brother and a richer version of this. Folklore: the Affliction is right up there with HEXploreIt: underappreciated, deep and crunchy RPG-like and very, very atmospheric. The recent Vampire: the Masquerade - CHAPTERS taps into the same mechanical vibe and thematic sense. Legends of Andor seems similar but more like a regular fantasy. Descent 2nd ed is still the uncontested high fantasy dungeon crawl campaign for me and more adventurous to me than Imperial Assault. FFG better bring the 3rd ed out, hotdarnit! Although I adore Chronicles of Crime, I don't find it to be 'adventurous' - it's more of a mystery-solving puzzle. Now, T.I.M.E Stories...now you're talking! I love the Arkham Files games of FFG and enjoy Mansions of Madness 2nd ed, Arkham Horror: LCG and even Elder Sign, but I really got me some Eldritch Horror cuz it's got adventure! KDM is way too expensive, but then so is its inspired siblings Aeon Trespass and Oathsworn and I both backed them :-P Lord of the Rings and Mansions of Madness 2nd ed are both wonderfully immersive adventure games but I think the latter feels more like Lovecraft's works than the former feels like Tolkiens. Robinson Crusoe is unique in that it's rather complex and not intuitive mechanically but SUCH an awesome and immersive theme. Everything DRIPS theme. Like This War of Mine. I dislike deck builders and 'mostly card' games but Arkham Horror: LCG drew me in (with its tentacles) and never let go! What a rich experience and SO much variety! Gloomhaven is a content beast but it doesn't feel like an adventure - there's just too little story in it. Now, the storybooks of Plaid Hat Games (Stuffed Fables, Comanauts, and Aftermath) Near and Far is an awesome pick!!! Sleeping Gods is going to blow this game out of the water but until then NaF is adventure, traveling and exploration supreme all rolled up into one!
Yep. 100% agree with Jeremy's number 1. You need to play it a few times, but once you're playing without the rulebook, you're experiencing something special 😊
I do miss Sam. He and I had very similar interests and taste in games. Wargames, rules dense, three+ hour games, sign me up! I wish him the best in wherever life takes him. That said, Jeremy being a solo gamer is an amazing addition as I currently do most of my gaming solo and I very much enjoyed his input! Would love to see more with him! Will miss Zee trolling the heck out of Sam though!
Kept skipping forward just to see if Mage Knight will be mentioned (having JUST started playing it this weekend). Jeremy seems to be a really awesome guy. Very very cool list he cooked up there. I need to check out all those games he mentioned.
I love and own almost every game on Jeremy's list except for Kingdom Death: Monster (haven't played it yet). Jeremy, I know this is going to sound biased but you have excellent taste 👍
Jeremy is an awesome addition to this video. Fantastic taste, very entertaining and a lot of different games on this list because of him. Still games like Secrets of the lost tomb, Dungeon Degenerates and Fortune & Glory have to be in this list for sure. Seriously guys, play those games. ASAP! :)
I would love to see a repeat of Tom’s recent ‘Top 10 Story Driven Games’ with a full length discussion. The trouble with the short videos is there is no back and forth and opinions from the other 2. It’s helpful how the others mention flaws in a game that one of them has put on the list
Mage Knight I feel like got mentioned on enon the Dice Tower, Tom reviewed it highly, and it vanished. Years later, it's still my favorite game of all time, nothing has come close to knocking it down. Glad to see someone go to bat for it. I will play it with 2 though.

Love the new format of bringing in guest voices! Suggestion: Can you include link to guest vlogger's page? Took me awhile to find Jeremy's channel in order to subscribe.
Bringing in guests for the top 10 lists was an excellent idea. I've always enjoyed the lists with Tom, Sam and Zee but lately it felt they were talking about the same games over and over again.
Nice video, I really think Robinson Crusoe is an awesome adventure game and in terms of the word "adventure" this is one of the games that I think is most related to that term and one of the best in the genre. I expected to see it in all three of your lists but it truly deserves to be up there in the high ranks. Also after playing 2-3 games - the rules are quite clear and not that complex as a lot of people tend to think or say. Cheers :)
Street Masters is number 1. This list, best all time list! Was stoked when you revealed that. And the rules and how to play are very simple. My sister doesn’t play games at all, and after one round she was doin all her own.
I bought Mage knight and it's freaking amazing. It blows everything else I've tried out of the water. The only sad thing is I can't really find anything else that I like as much. If anyone has suggestions... Although I don't know what the issue with the rule book is. I got it on the first read, but maybe it's just a personal difference. I mean I didn't understand Agricola onto he first read, even though it's much simpler.
Mage Knight is absolutely my favorite game of all-time as well. Granted, I also exclusively play it solo so maybe there's something to that, but regardless, I love everything about it. HEXplore It looks like my kinda game. I have never heard of it before this list and I am absolutely picking up Valley of the Dead King.
I realise my opinion on theme is very different from the Dice Towers in general, and that is fine, but I would like to add that in my opinion, Legends of Andor is the most thematic game I have ever played. That is a top 3 game for me and part of the reason is because of the theme.
anthony gambatese Totally agree! For such a long and deep game, I feel like the rules are fairly simple and not something you need to play often to be able to remember it. It’s not for everyone, but I think describing it as a Hunger Games type of setting gives you a good idea of what it’s like. There aren’t many games I like lasting for hours, but this one just doesn’t get old.
