24' Extension Ladder Single Throw

- While it is usually desirable to have maximum manning to raise a ladder, on the fire-ground, this is not always the case. This is a quick video showing how to single throw a 24' extension ladder.
I’ve never seen a 24’ handled like this before. Not a compliment or criticism, but 31 years of beam raise-high shoulder-throw and stick it-rotate-extend with high elbows FROM THE FRONT halyard pull is the bread and butter go to technique at every SoCal FD I ever trained with or observed.
Consider throwing fly in so that you can raise the halyard while spotting the objective.
Everything about the same as other 24' throws, but man that first move is a back injury waiting to happen.
My instructor told us he would throw a halligan at anyone he saw do that flip haha
