Nice video -- thanks for posting it. I have two Model 25 rifles, one chambered for 25-20 and the other for 32-20. Great little rifles. Man, I've never seen that old manual. Sure would love to get a copy of that sometime.
@Smilin_Don I just remembered these guys (link below). I have gotten an old Remington manual from them before. It looks like they have the model 25. Otherwise, when i get around to scanning it, i can email it to you if you want to list your email. cornellpubs.com/
Interesting rifle. I really enjoyed your review and history of the gun. Piquing my interest, I looked up some reloading data in my Hodgdon's Data Manual. The manual showed a 60 grain bullet with 8.5 grains ( Maximum Load) of H110 powder. velocity 1827 FPS. 19,500 CUP. The bullet diameter is .257. Stay safe and have fun.
I just recently purchased one of these rifles in 25-20 to complete my Pedersen collection of rifles. I also have the model 12, 14, and the model 51 handgun. Do you know where I could find the 25-20 ammunition for this rifle?
deer hunting was mentioned....with a 25cal? I would think they are kind of small for that? More like small game. But hey when your starvng and you get a shot at a deer ,it is what it is ,or was? lol
Yes they did use the 25-20 for hunting deer. The "Jordan Buck" from west central Wisconsin was shot with a 25-20. Would not recomend the caliber, but it was a tack driver, sometimes shot placement is better that flinching and wounding with a big bore gun that the shooter is afraid of.......Ever seen that happen? I have for over 50 years...

@@publicdefender77 The 6/24 build date might mean a serial in the 11,000-13,000 range.

Yea, I would never try to take down a deer with that but back then it was a different world.

My model 25 was both my mothers and my first deer rifle , put a lot of meat on the table , a real tack driver .
