Happy birthday Olaf! Our Samoyed is a month younger than yours and we've been following along since Olaf was a puppy. Its been awesome to relate the situations you both went through while raising Olaf and it really helped us with our journey with Willow the pillow. Thank you for doing what you guys do, I look forward to seeing many more amazing adventures with Olaf!:)

Happy birthday Olaf! The past year has really flown by - I remember watching Olaf's first birthday video around the time that we had just gotten our sammy pup. It's so sweet that Olaf has gotten chances to play and swim in water. We haven't had the opportunity to yet with our pup, but I was wondering what your guys' aftercare routine is with Olaf, after he's all wet from playing in water? I've heard that some sammy owners will literally bring their high velocity dryers with them (if they're camping), in order to dry off their dogs right after they're done playing in the water.
Thank you Ivy for following us from the beginning! We love getting comments from you and others who are on a similar journey. As for Olaf, if he's completely soaked from going to the beach, we'll dry him off with a beach towel and then blow dry him inside of his crate when we get home. If we blow dry him outside of his crate, then he'll bark and whine like crazy. Something about his crate must feel comfortable.
@@theoandolaf Thanks for that info!! Our pup also barks and whines at the dryer too, I should try it with him in the crate next time. I'm so grateful for all the content that you guys share about Olaf and your journey with raising him. All the X month updates during Olaf's first year seriously kept me going and I would literally use the videos as motivation haha! Such a rough first year with our pup, Howl, but it's been getting easier now that he's just over a year old now. Happy birthday again, Olaf! :)

@@theoandolaf Thank you!! And yes he's named after the Ghibli movie! But my partner and I thought it was just a great dog name in general, for people who don't know about the Ghibli reference haha

I am sure in America you can find fresh green tripe in raw dog food available in america.
Fresh Green Tripe is very very very good for Dogs digestive systems as they cannot produce their own digestive enzymes. I give fresh green tripe to my 18 month Samoyed.. his coat GLISTENS, and NO MORE RUNNY POOPS OR DIAREAH OR DIGESTIVE ISSUES
does Olaf have fresh bones to eat too? I give my samoyed chicken necks, lamb necks, beef brisket bones, chickenhearts, lamb hearts, fresh fish.
Oh definitely! Olaf eats beef bones, along with duck head, beef trachea, rabbit ears and feet, chicken tender strips, and lamb hearts. Those things keep him occupied and distracted for a bit, especially when we go out in public places.
