@MMNyeD We actually have been to India this year, but only to pay a visit. Please head to our website. We have guideliness on how to apply, info about the programs we offer, as well as practical tips for international students.
@drummeryan337 Our website has most of the info you need. You can tell your parents about it, especially our programs that prepare students for prospective careers in the industry and our Musicians Referral Program. You and your parents can also call or email us (info at our site, and at the video info section of this page) :) All the best!
@MetalHybrid Hey don't worry, you can always apply for financial aid with us. We have general information on that at our website. Whatever happens, please don't lose hope. Keep practicing and loving music, and you'll get where you want to be if you work hard at it!
@Carlos89518 What program are you interested in joining? Please visit our website for more information, email admissions, or call any of our hotlines. We're also on Twitter and Facebook.
Hi Everyone, For specific questions about Academic Programs at MI, Admissions or Financial Aid policies, visit mi.edu and in the top right hand side of the page, click "contact us." An Admissions or Financial Aid representative will get back to you directly. For general information about visiting the campus, student life, alumni events and more: visit mi.edu and navigate to the appropriate page. Thanks!
@tetoadriancradleoffi Hi, please visit our website. It contains the application requirements for MI, as well as more information on the specific programs we have available.
lol at the person who said it costs 100's of thousands of dollars to attend MI. You are paying about 49,000 for a 2 year degree from there. You not only get an education but these all important things called CONNECTIONS. If you want a career in music it's not only what you know but who you know as well. The networks you form at a school like this are invaluable on so many levels. I'm going out there to check it out in a couple months and if I like the vibe I get and the facilities I'll be trying to attend.
It sucks at my high school because they don't teach guitar :( I learned myself and I've been playing guitar for about 4 years and I'm going to go here when I'm out of high school
My experience with Musicians Institute was pretty much the exact opposite of most reviews from students/alumni. I struggled heavily when it came to my studies, and found that most teachers and students wanted nothing to do with you if you weren't already at a certain level on your instrument. The people there really know how to make someone feel stupid when someone is inexperienced or trying to learn something new. I felt very discouraged being there, and found it to be a very cliquish and cold environment. Impossible to make friends or any type of connections. I'm currently stuck in non-music related day job and have struggled to get gigs due to the lack of help and guidance I needed. It seems like administrators only want to hear positive stories about graduates who succeed after MI, and have no concern with those who are struggling. Forget about any type of career assistance or job placement; anyone who receives assistance is someone who can make the school look good and attract new students.
Hi, I'm only a freshman in high school, but I have been drumming and taking lessons since I was five, so I've been drumming for ten years (check out my videos). It's my dream to come here to study drums and maybe even recording, but my parents are already against it. They say that making a career as a musician is a struggle and isn't practical. I understand what they're saying, but after learning about MI, I still think that coming here can help you make a career as a musician. Any advice?
@guitalfredo Hi there! We accept international students at MI. Please visit our website. We have information for you at the International Students page. Also see our Financial Aid and Scholarships pages. Finally, please feel free to call our hotlines to talk to any of our admissions counselors. *Our website and phone numbers are listed at the box below this video.

I'm really interested in progams in Drums. I mean this place looks amazing but I hope it really doesn't cost too much cuase I really want to go there so bad. I live near there but I don't know if I can afford. The website doesn't list any pricings.
The Admissions and Housing department at MI are great! They can assist you with this process. You should contact them by calling 800-255-7529 or 323-462-1384. You can make it happen!
I want to be an audio engineer...I love music and I have tried some amateur programs. But I really dont have the experience, is there any requirements before i can enroll? Do I need to have experience or can I learn all I need to know at MI? Please answer!

yea i called them, basically they almost dont even look at it, they just have to look at academics and stuff, for SATs u need only a 1500, easy, and payment for classes depends on the instrument ur takin. guitar is roughly 20 grand, but as u stay there, the tuition decreases
I'm 17 and a junior in high school and I'm considering going in for either Music Business or pure guitar. Is it possible to be able to switch majors if I get accepted here? ps. I've been playing guitar for almost 2 years and I'm decent at the guitar but I'm no "rock goddess." Could I attended this school and improve even more on my guitar skills?
@Racerdew do u know any information about financial aid or something or if it is expensive cuz i asked some counselors but they didnt give me any helpful information.....

You can contact admissions by calling 323-462-1384 or by emailing admissions@mi.edu. @Lookbackeyes, Musicians Institute does not have dormitories, but does offer housing options through a third party provider. We also have strong relationships with housing providers in the Hollywood area who provide affordable apartment-style housing to our students.
Hey MI I've been playing guitar for around 5 years now and I would like to think I'm a decent player. What sort of scholarships do you guys offer that could cover someone for around a year of study?
IM FROM MEXICO AND I PLAY GUITAR IM INTERESTED IN GUITAR AND AUDIO ENGINEER WHAT DO I HAVE TO DO TO BE ABLE TO GET INTO THIS SCHOOL? AND HOW MUCH MONEY I NEED?
I'm 14 and I've already decided to go here. I've been practicing for about two hours a day for the past six years, playing stuff like Avenged Sevenfold. I'm ready to go and I hope that anyone reading this in MI right now can reply and tell me their experience.
I am from India and I play guitar..I am interested in joining your institute..Can you please tell me When is this Institute coming to India...And what will be the fee structure..
@KillMasterGit: Musicians Institute does not have an age limit for application, but does require a High School Diploma or equivalent certification. Tuition varies per program. A break-down of our tuition costs is available in our course catalog which you can find online on our website (mi.edu) by clicking "Programs," allowing the next page to load and then by clicking "Course Catalog [PDF]" on the programs page. Tuition is listed on page 16.
I'm a little afraid about this college. Last time I looked for a college it was Full Sail. I looked up some reviews for it and people say it was TERRIBLE.
@koolperson55 Going to MI means you live with music day and night. No Math, Science, or other subjects. We're not allowed to post links at the comments section but if you go to our website, you'll see all the information you need. Check out the How To Apply, Programs (you may download the course catalog here), Financial Aid, and Scholarships sections.
You should definitely come, but ask them to help you find a place to live first...you don't want to be homeless in Hollywood. But they will help you! My son is starting there in 2015.
@ThaKingOfSting It's not the number of years, but the amount of work you put into learning that counts. Go over our site and our videos here to get a feel of the school. Keep practicing and when you feel ready to apply, send us a demo with all the other requirements. Good luck!
Ive been looking into MI for about a few months now i graduate this year my career and focus in a college is music so i just need some feed back about it because people are telling this aint all that great:/ and i shoulld get to CSUN's music program.
hey M.I i wanna go to your institute but it cost to much to live in L.A wat can i do?.....do i just give up on my lifelong dreams because im poor....wat can i do?...i live in OHIO btw
@kyrinky well finacial aid is dependent on you personally, your taxes and all that shit determine your amount... i wrote an essay for a hardship scholarship and stuff like that to help lower the cost.. at the end of my last quarter, which will be coming up this march i will have paid a total of 40,000 thats including the grants and financial help i have recieved. hope that helps...
@drummeryan337 Dude I had the same stuggle with my parents. Ever since i could remember, I have always had a huge and genuine passion for music. I knew from the begenning that becoming a audio engineer/ producer is what I wanted to do. Bottom line! But my parents always shot my dream down saying that a career in the music industry isnt "recession proof" and that I would never make any money doing it. My point is, dont give up on your dreams because your parents dont approve. Do it for you!

Hi, I was wondering if we needed a demo tape, required to go to auditions, send in a portfolio etc. ?
Ok then, il Listen. DO you have any musicschools to recomend then??
And what the prize may be?
i play three instruments, could i still focus on all three if i study at MI?
