The fireworks were stunning! I saw that brief flash of a Blackwing pencil. Wow, you did SO much in this video! Oh my goodness, the Hulk Smash made my day!
OMG the best part was Hulk Smash! Thank you for showing what Daiso has for art supplies as most of the walk through videos don't even show art supplies and I always wondered
Haha thank you! There is another Daiso due to open nearer to where I live, so once it eventually does I plan to check it out and see if there are any other art supplies to be had. 😁
Becky, I loved this video!! And would you believe I have the EXACT SAME PAPER - the calligraphy paper - and yes, it does look just like a packet of watercolour cards! I bought some just before lockdown (4.0) and I can't wait to try it out - I've not had a chance yet, but thank-you for sharing this haul with us! Always fun to watch 👏👏👏👏👏❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ Daiso is so underrated for art supplies.. actually, have you seen the clutch pencils they have? I have two of these - the HB and the 2B, and they are such fun mechanical pencils to use! They have 2mm leads, which are provided in the pack, and I think you can also buy refills separately, too! Oh I just love their art supplies! I've never tried the sumi ink as a liquid, but I did buy the ink block with the stone, and that was a lot of fun to use as well! Such fun supplies at Daiso! I'll be going back to look for more, definitely!
I'll have to look out for the 2mm mechanical pencils, the next time I get to go. Glad to have lockdown lifting a bit, it has been such a drag! Let me know what you think of the paper. 😊
Becky, great painting. I am requesting a video of you using the sumi ink with the Gansai tambi paints that you used in a video a few months back. Gansai tambi paints are made to be used with sumi ink.
Wow, was this all in one day? So many artworks! I actually love the bamboo design with black ink. The scratch off fireworks was so beautiful too. But of course cats rule over everything lol😸 hulk smash has to be one of my favorite moments from this channel😂
You have Daiso in Australia?! We have it here in SKorea and wow have I picked up some little gems ... I'm jealous! We don't have the Art Gabby paper 🤣🤣Love your artsy haul! My best find was little ceramic watercolor palettes for basically $1!!!! I only bought 10 and went back for more .... and have seen them since 🥲😩😩Wishing you more art joy!!!
Oooh ceramic palettes!? How awesome! I'll be keeping an eye out for those. Daiso has been in Melbourne for maybe 10 years; it started off with one store in the CBD and now there are quite a few in shopping centres as well. I love finding treasures in there. We bought some tiny cushions once and my Dad took a liking to them and now they are at his house, lol.
The watercolour tubes was perhaps also meant for calligraphy. I never thought of anything but bamboo, until you said finger bones. :D I liked the origami paper box. I got a lot lying around and it often get kinks and donkey eared before i get to use it, so a box would be brilliant for it.
You could well be right about the tubes! Those little plastic boxes are so handy, and not just for origami paper, ha! I guess it says a lot about me that I saw bones instead of bamboo. 😂
Great question! One I am not entirely sure I know...lol. Actually from a brief search I think it is the composition of the inks, with the pigments and binders etc. If you type in that question to Google it should pop up with a big list of sites which go in-depth into the make-up of Sumi inks. It won't let me post links here in the comments. 😭
What fun! I've been in a Daiso and you're lucky to have one near you, I was travelling when I went to it. As aleays, enjoyed yoir creative process.and yoir choice of music. Thank you for the video, see you in the next one! Stay safe and be well.
im jealous you've been to Mt.Fuji, maybe one day. fireworks for scratchboard is actually a good idea, very shiny! he crane looks the way it should, looks like a pretty crane 😀
I ordered originally the daiso drawing ink online but they sent the caligherphy ink instead😐😑 I didn't want to go through the hassle of returning it and want to know have you done a video comparing the Daiso drawing ink and their sumi ink
I haven't done a video like that, sorry! I am not even sure I know where the inks are; they're hidden somewhere in my studio and I'm due for a major sort out so hopefully I'll find them again soon, lol! 😂
I have a bottle of the Sumi Ink that on yours said drawing ink, I don't know Japanese but it has the same lettering in Japanese as mine and I use mine for Calligraphy. I suspect both your bottles of Sumi Ink are the same. Enjoyed watching your video, I've never seen those scratch things, they are really cool. Your music choice is excellent btw. Don't worry about being slightly out of focus, feels like we're there. If you ever want to see puffins we have them on a wee island off where I live in Northern Ireland, drop me a line if you decide to come here, would love to show you around.
Thank you! I do try to match music to the mood of the artwork (or my own mood, lol). We were in Scotland a few years ago, JUST before puffin season started, wah! One day we shall have to get back during full season and we've never been to Northern Ireland so that shall have to be a location we add to our bucket list! ❤
a picture is worth a thousand words. I origami also, I never read the instructions. Much like furniture assembling that I do.
It's more a case of "why doesn't mine look like that?" 😂
The fireworks were stunning! I saw that brief flash of a Blackwing pencil. Wow, you did SO much in this video! Oh my goodness, the Hulk Smash made my day!
I had a great day filming all of this video....my desk was a total mess by the end of it! 😂
Fantastic art supplies ! Interesting and exciting to watch ! Beautiful sharing😊💕
14:49 ... 🤣 Thanks a lot! I have a beverage here, you know. Now there's orange soda EVERYWHERE.
Oops, hahaha! 🤣
Lots of fun!
Bamboo finger bone... lmao!
I always enjoy your videos, a little blur wont keep me away!
Thank you, it's all part of the show! 😁

Hulk Smash! 😆 that's so great. Awesome video! Those fireworks were so preeetty
Thank you, the fireworks were a lot of fun to scratch, especially for their rainbow colours! 💕

Yes, all in one day; my studio was a right old mess by the end, lol. Hulk Smash has certainly been a hit, haha! 😂
I use Daiso sumi ink for Calligraphy and find it bleeds less on cheap paper than the more expensive inks.
It’s really great ink! 💜

Hi Becky, What are the differences between the Sumi Caligraphy and Drawing Inks?

Thank you! I didn't climb it but stayed by the lake at its base and looked out directly to the mountain. It was a stunning view! 💜
