- This scene is from Episode 4 of Minecraft Story Mode Season 2. Jesse and Petra are alone in the admins' old cabin which reminds them of their old life causing Petra to break down in front of Jesse because things have changed so much to where she can barely see her friends anymore. Jesse comforts her and promises to remain with her no matter what and they continue on to finish the fight against Romeo.

Indeed. Petra has been extremely conflicted with the ties to all her friends (especially Jesse) throughout this whole season after their new responsibilities started causing them to drift apart. It's upset her greatly and the fact that they're ever really around at all makes it even harder because she feels like she may lose them for good. She relates to Romeo's forceful attitude because she was so wound up at Jesse and the others because she wanted to be with them but they just couldn't and she was willing to do whatever it took to be with them.

It is 2023 and it still gives me the same feelings. 😢 When Petra said, 'it didn't take too long for the new order of the stone to fall again' It really made me think because the old order of the stones were also friends like them. They were also together like them. The only thing they did wrong was one lie, even though they lied about the story in which they defeated the ender dragon, but they did defeat the ender dragon and finding the command block is not a small thing.

Me, too. Except in my case, my old friend group was getting really toxic, especially this one person who I’ve been friends with for 4 years. She meant the whole world to me, and she stabbed me in the back. Then she pulled out a victim complex, saying that “I hurt her” and she did nothing wrong.
I almost attempted “that” because of her.
After putting up with it for 7 months because I didn’t want to end it and lose her, I decided to end it anyways. That was only a few months ago. It stills eats me up inside, badly.

I couldn't stop thinking about this after the Petra ending, I rewatched this scene and cried, I would stick by Petra's side until the day I die man, friends or more than friends, I am happy that jessie and petra are sticking together.

i got a different version of petra crying in minecraft story mode despite i got a different ending but i still chose the same option and it was emotional as hell

When I first played this game, I wasn’t focused on the story during this moment. The music in the background is the most emotional thing about it. It really conveys emotions.

I was obsessed with mcsm when I was a kid. But I'm not from USA so I mostly couldn't understand what they said. When I first saw these scene I was like: "Why is she crying, what's wrong?" I even tried to translate it. But I couldn't find out why she was crying. Years later I just remembered this scene and wanted to see if I could understand it now. And it was easy I don't know how I couldn't understand it.
What I like about this scene is that throughout the whole episode, seeing all the damage done makes you hate Romeo a lot. But this scene tries to change your opinion. It tries to make you want to save Romeo rather than kill him. Whereas the rest of the episode does the opposite by showing the damage he has done, when in truth, he had a sad and depressing backstory.
I literally cried during this, I can see why they're shipped now.

This is actually my favorite moment in all of MCSM season 2. It shows that the problem isn’t really Romeo or Petra itself, but rather the path that they have to choose with the world that keeps collapsing around them again and again, with the new order of the stone falling apart, with the hard choice to make. And the wrong decision, which was Romeo deciding to stay with his friends till the bitter end rather than taking a leap of faith, would lead to consequences like these before he was entirely aware of them.
If MCSM S3 is by some miracle made, it better not miss out on opportunities like these (or the roots of S1)
Agreed I think if they do make season 3 then they should only make it about the hit the road option because any true fan would choose that ending

My biggest fear is being left alone with no one to be there for me. It happened that I got ghosted by a close friend just last year, and even though we talk on occasion, it still scared me.
I think this is similar to what Petra was going through in this scene.

I hate it when people ship them because they are just friends.. This is truly how childhood friendships work. You meet them, you laugh with them and you're unaware until they leave one day. i get what you mean but even with female Jesse and Lukas their bond isn't as strong as male Jesse and Petra and its shown physically sometimes and even though i don't think they were allowed to include any romance in the game and its not exactly canon almost everyone and myself included interpret it as love. This scene always makes me cry because I can relate. A lot. I’ve lost my friends. Every single one of them, more than once. Shunned, abandoned, forgotten, everything. And now I worry about everything I say and do with my current friends.

3:05, you can hear Petra breathing heavily probably because she hasn’t been really given any physical touch from friends like that in a while. Like she was trying to keep composed but the second Jesse reached out to her physically, she was on the verge of breaking down there.

I’m not a “everybody leaves me” person, for me it’s that nobody stays. No matter who I’ve befriended, most of them I’ve lost for one reason or another. And soon it’s gonna be my turn to leave the few people that have stayed (I graduate after this year). Losing people has always been one of my greatest fears because it happens so often, and I’m always scared of the future and I fear that in the end it’s just gonna be me, like it’s almost always been.

Also, I forgot to mention that Jesse slaying the witherstorm didn’t just cure Petra’s sickness or amnesia and getting her and her friends out of the Sunshine Institute, but it also made her hopeful that she would finally have people that she could have lifelong friendships with. It makes her feel like she has a purpose in life and that she won’t feel the need to end her life like she wanted to beforehand. This was her chance to have a good quality of life for the first time and in episodes 5-8 that ended up happening. While it wasn't perfect, she had times in these episodes where she couldn't stop smiling. In episode 5 of Season 1, she expresses how grateful she is to have teammates and people who care about her which she admits is new for her. It also allows her understand her team better and she is showing off her snarky side often. In the beginning of episode 6 she made a friendly bet with Lukas and had the time of her life racing to the mansion. That seemed like the happiest Petra had ever been in her life to that point which she was way overdue for. And I think she enjoyed figuring out the murder case other than when Lukas was accused of being the White Pumpkin and her worrying about him. She also seemed to have some romantic feelings for Jesse during the crafting race. Even though she lost her temper on Jesse in episode 7 by the end of it she was happy they came, and in the endings of both seasons even though her life had been bumpy, she felt like she finally had a good quality of life. Offscreen probably in between seasons and after Season 2 Petra likely told Jesse how she couldn’t thank him enough for saving her life both physically and especially mentally because before she joined Jesse’s gang permanently her life was a total train wreck. She looked ecstatic while running off with Jesse to go adventuring and she needed that badly. Petra may be a badass on the outside especially when it comes to fighting but emotionally on the inside she is a nervous wreck and is praying for something to go right for once in her life, luckily Jesse did just that for her.
But once again, Petra is an example of regardless of how difficult your life may be, whatever mistakes you’ve made to try and fix it, no matter what you want, no matter what certain people think of you, you can overcome that and prove your doubters wrong. You can still be yourself and find people that respect you and want to be with you to the end of the line. And Petra did just that, she is now able to be more open minded, accepting things more easily, and not loathing herself anymore and actually be at peace and being able to love herself for who she is. Now with her life figured out she can be the tomboyish, humorous, brave warrior version of herself without needing to use it as a coping mechanism. Now she can do it with her best friend Jesse and without worrying about her past.
I had to write this comment separately from the other one because UA-cam wouldn’t let me post this part of my statement on the original comment for some weird reason, but anyway, I figured I would add that part to try to mention information that I thought was important to add. Sorry if this sounds too close to the things I said in the original comment but I wanted to mention as many things as possible. Also I may have over exaggerated on Petra’s soft side and not enough on her tough side, but honestly everything I said about her is what type of person I believe she is. Once again I hope people that read this enjoy it .👍

Yeah. It was my first and my favorite Telltale game of all time. Though I do wish we got more in depth lore on why Romeo ended up the way he did and what actually caused Ivor to leave the order of the stone.
