Gotta say, Jason is by far the consumate standard in gold mining channels. From the raw mining to the manufacturing of the machines through the smelting process, and then to a product Sreetips could purify. Awesome channel Jason!! It's obvious why Dan and Jeff rely on You.
To stop your crucible from sticking to the brick in the furnace, place a small square (about the size of the base the crucible) of corugated cardboard under the crucible. |this will turn to charcoal, and form a barrier that prevents the crucible from sticking.
Dan makes such light and fun videos, 🙄 Jason on the other hand make more fun and light videos. I think 🤔they work well together. But that's just me 🤣😂🤣
I mentioned Brent at Cerro Gordo, and you went and did a collaboration with him. Then I mentioned Dan Hurd, and you were off to Canada. Now - considering what you are embarking on, I want to mention Sreetips. If you are breaking out the chemistry set and the nitric acid, you need to talk to Sreetips.
Is that street sweeps is one of the gurus of the precious metals refining for jewelry and electronics and stuff He's he's very smart and knowledgeable I also want to try to get him on the show maybe a show and an adventure it's going to be the quest for the eight noble medals and I've got a bunch of ideas and I got my show so check a little take a look and see what kind of just messing around on the side side show jobs because refining recovery of precious metals gets those very boring moments that's when we fill it in with all the sideshow stuff but I want to do this signal that like an adventure thing in mind I'll keep in touch I'll keep you in the loop you need to let me know if you're interested and yeah like I said we could actually get a good little collaboration of us like-minded and talented people put our minds together and we have us one hell of a team anyways later talk to street tips I'll be talking to him too maybe we can collaborate later
Seeing gold run in the galena is neat. Usually it’s high grade silver that runs in galena in NE Washington. I’ve seen assays that ran over 1000 ounces a ton (silver) on galena
That's crazy I was thinking it was going to be way richer but still impressive thanks Jason for the update can't wait to see the helicopter ore processed as always its been a pleasure learning from you thank you sir Happy holidays to you and yours
Love your videos, thank you. I am surprised about 1 item, your guessing of the gold silver content in your buttons. For the amount of work you do refining gold/silver wouldn't be worth buying a gold and silver testing and detection scanner so you know the exact content of the gold/silver in each button? I know they are expensive but how about a used one for sale. These analyzers can even be used checking the gold/silver ore content in the mine vein.
I will stay tuned for the next refining video for sure 👍 Word of advice before starting devolving the buttons in nitric acid. Get yourself a gold karat test kit. You will need to get the gold content to around 25% or lower by adding either copper or silver to the material. Otherwise the gold will protect the silver from going into solution. There are a lot of information about this around the Internet, and it’s a fairly simple refining trick. Search for “assaying gold/silver with inquartation”
You read my mind when u said at the end that you are going to part the silver and base metals away with chemical reactions!! You will get some really nice looking gold for sure after u do, can’t wait to see the results!!
Thanks for all your effort and dedication! This is one of your best videos ever, mainly because we can learn what to do when things turn south, thanks for not cutting off the mistakes and letting us learn from your experiences.
I've been watching "Flour Gold Wizards" lately as well. The HUGE difference between the yields around Lake Superior and West Coast is striking. For beach gold along Lake Superior, a 0.3g day is a "huge" day.
Well Jason one thing is for sure! And that your precious metal is unique unto you. I hope you enjoy purification of the gold out process? Love and luck from Ireland 🇮🇪 ❤️
To separate the Au and Ag from the buttons you'll need to inquart with some more Ag to bring the Au concentration to around 25% or less. Too much Au will prevent the HNO3 from getting to all the Ag. An excellent book that some refiners consider as the bible on this subject is "Refining Precious Metal Wastes" by CM Hoke.
Hi Jason, AWESOME!! Dynamite video! Very exciting to see the gold line go across the shaker table. It will be very interesting to see what the #2 concentrates button produces in gold/silver. Also looking forward to the assay results from the #4 waste. How many gold specimens did you not crush & refine? Stay safe!! Thank You for another fantastic video. Jim
I just realized I've been watching your videos for some time as they were recommended but I was not subscribed. I fixed that. Thank you for these really cool videos. It is something I don't ever see myself doing, but I do enjoy watching.
Watching the pour cool down and seeing that surface of the sun is one of my favorite parts of your videos Jason. Great content keep up the good work and stay safe!
Hey Jason Have you ever tried to oxydize the lead without cornflaking it first? As lead has a slightly lower melting point than Potassium nitrate i suspect that most or nearly all of the reaction happens with the lead already molten anyway. So that additional step of cornflaking the lead could be avoidable.
That was a cool video!! I am a long time watcher, and this was up there as being my favorite video series because of all the steps you will have to take to complete the processes.
You can use an electromagnetic separator to separate the Galina from the gold. To do so, have the powder run past the magnet on a thin stream on a conveyer. The gold and silver will get kicked away while the rest goes straight through. Magnitite, if present, will stick to the magnet. Old microwave transformed with the primary attached, but the secondary hacked off so it makes an E core works well. Hook 3 in series for 120VAC.
Hey mbmmllc! Maybe use a selfie stick or similar expansion rod horizontally between the walls and clamp the camera to it so you can record more of the ore extraction process and have both hands free to work! Greetings from Vancouver British Columbia Canada! Ride ride ride!
Hey Jason, fantastic channel! Came over from Dan Hurd's channel. Oddly my last name is Hurd lol... Just wanted to say I've been binge watching your videos. Entertaining, educational and fun. Very cool stuff.
Nitric acid dissolves silver, but not gold, soak they material, heat, pour off the liquid (repeat several times to be thorough) into a jar with pure copper to cement the silver nitrate back to silver powder. Metallic gold and silver separated.
Finally an answer to my question if the gold and silver can be separated. I can't wait until that video comes out. Please be as detailed as possible. Did you smelt the pan of #4 tailings?
You mentioned copper staining was the blue wonder if you could elaborate a little more on what the different colors indicate because that area working in there seems to have quite a variety of colors that I'm not able to correlate with minerals and even if it's not helpful in practice my curiosity gets the best of me sometimes
as you mention - seems like 70% 30 mesh and 50% 50 mesh isn't small enough to collect all the smaller gold. also appears that there are some larger quartz chunks passing thru as well. what would it take to get it down to sub 100 mesh? dreamy vein for sure. great stuff, thanks for the share, enjoy your challenges as well as successes!
Areet. looking forward to the follow up video to this. Really wanted to know like you the results on this one. 💚💛❤️👍 Ps I shared your sketchy gold mine video on my community page 👌

At around 40:00 after you flipped it out, I think I would have turned the cone upside down and heated it with a torch to get all the lead out. Just a thought.
Hey, there is a channel by a jeweler named sreetips who does silver/gold inquarting, and he makes some of the most pure gold I've seen on YT. Maybe you can get with him or do some work together to build both of your channel bases like you have with dan heard and ghost town living.

I'd love to see that. But understandable being that a decent unit cost upwards of $4 - $25k
Thank you, enjoyed very much. Excited for the next part of the journey.

So about $5k worth of gold - what a nice payday -even though a lot of hard work , I've learned so much in just this one video. Excellent !
I watch all your videos this is one of the best...

Great job Jason

you should watch the Sreetips channel for the acid recovery and refining process, he's very detailed on the step by step detail orientated.
I get it about parting, nasty acids, vacuum filtering, at least you can popcorn quench to avoid rolling, but the gold you get is so buttery yellow!
