I have a 1976 23.5 Bayliner Nisqually with the Volvo Penta 5 liter and it still runs like a champ. I just bought a 1979 25 Bayliner Saratoga last week with the exact same motor also. I love these old ones, so easy to fix your self. Except they hardy ever need fixing. I've had it 10 years and changed the oil and a new starter and that's about it. I run it almost wide open from Bellingham to Birch Bay and it just purrr's.. that one looks nice and shiny.
I have a 2006 5.7 G.I. Volvo penta. I have no power at lunch and I stay planked for a long time. I get a lot of backfire. What is the normal fuel pressure for the high and the low any ideas on what my problem could be?
According to my V-P owner manual you should never run the engine above idle when flushing with a hose attached. I add SaltAway during the flush, it's good insurance.
The 350 small block GM is always been a good choice in 20 foot and bigger hulls parts availability is still really plentiful whether carburetor or fuel injection
Should have at least 10 lbs for every 1000 rpms. So if your doing 4000 rpm's 40 lbs is good and pretty average for a 5.7 if not closer to 60 lbs at @4000 rpm. If you have less than 10 lbs at idle make sure oil is full but might need a rebuild or oil pump at least.
Manifold Absolute Pressure sensor. It controls air density for the engine's air mass flow rate, that sets the required fuel delivery for optimal combustion.

The optional power hatch is a good thing to have when you have problems and just want to push a button and try to forget about it.
glad to see there's consensus here.

Can this be done while boat is in the water? If so do you just put the hose on the blue cap and run the water for a while?
What's your fuel consumption at cruising speed? How fast is cruising speed and top speed?
hi what sized boat was this installed in and what top speed in knots was achieved?
Where can I buy 2 I need new motors for a house boat
Do you know what oil pressure your engine runs at idle and at speed? I have 2003 Funship 234

What is the serpentine belt part number for this engine?
Did you ever find the belt info
@@ccarozzolo1 I did, but this was a year ago now and I can’t remember the party number 🤦♂️
Great until you get a faulty MAP sensor where none of you know where it is and what it does.

"American Muscle?" more like swedish viking power
