- What is the blue button in my overhead controls? That blue button is a wonderful service called OnStar! Some of the most recognizable servies provided by OnStar are the roadside assistant and OnStar Security. Say you get a flat and need help changing it or need your car towed, press that blue button and someone will be there to assist. If someone breaks in and steals your car, call OnStar and they can remotely power-down your car so the thief cannot go anuy further. One of the newest feature of OnStar is the OnStar App. You can lock andunlock your vehicle remotely, and even start your car if you have remote start. Along with all those cool features OnStar provides a monthly diagnostic report, so if you have any issues with your car you will get an email and/or a text explaining everything and how to fix it! My Camaro got stolen last night. My onstar GPS keeps saying that the car is on my driveway. Called onstar and they can’t seem to track the car. This is a waste of money.
Onstar is rude lately. Something is not right with customer service. My mother was on a trip and needed directions. She tried 7 times to talk to someone, and yet there was nobody to help her.
What a waste of time. She needs a cell phone.
How do we know if you're telling the truth?
why would she not just put the address into her phone? I feel like OnStar is useless, an iPhone does everything and more.
I thought the same thing. Years ago they are awesome. Now, I even hate to ask help from them.

I've bought a GMC yukon and now I'm running into problems bc of onstar modules and shit smdh , I'm all with new technology as long as it works good
Lol, no one is going to steal a GM car. It'll trip the tpms light after a few seconds and then boom the car hydro-locks after a minute

Worthless features for the money spent. A smart phone will do a lot of the features that On Star is showing.

I won’t buy any GM vehicle again. If you don’t agree to Onstar terms and conditions, GM will display a warning messgae on the radio screen every time you start the car. They instruct their dealer not to disable this warning unless the owner agrees to sign up for onstar. Onstar should have gone away when cell phones became popular, just like the phones that used to be on airplanes. But onstar kicks back enough money to GM that they now must use coercion in their business model.
It was good when you could place and receive phone calls. Since they eliminated that feature, I cancelled it

I think it is absurd that this is not only still on the market but now a mandatory and expensive upgrade for all GMC vehicles. OnStar is completely useless and outdated. there is absolutely nothing that it can do that your iPhone with apple car play cant do. I also hate the stupid shark fin antenna that you have to have for this. all in all it is a useless service that is being forced on people for the purpose of greed. it is not useful in any way unless you are an elderly person with like a flip phone from 2002 why would you need this service?
Cant believe onstar is still viable. You dont get any features that are worth $20-$30/month. Its comical....
