    Ok... So for those that were asking.....Here's How to get those Chords / Keyboard Mode and Lovely initial Drum Loops recorded into Cubase :)
    First off... point to remember is that Cubase will disable your record button on your Maschine... Transport now handled by the DAW.
    So (example) use Jef's example video and get your chords in (ps.. I'm a Major 8 kinda guy! ) and sure enough you'll hear through cubase.
    1. On Cubase (10), set your Input Routing to Maschine 2 - Midi Out (so your cubase input is received by your Maschine midi output)
    2. On Maschine, set the Sound - Output - Midi - Destination to Host
    You might at first hear that it goes a bit corrupt first of all ... I seem to have gotten over this by ensuring Sound - Input - Midi was set to default.
    (If anyone whose much more skilled than I can explain why...that would help me get a better understanding!)
    I can also confirm this works in Keyboard Mode on Maschine too :)
    Also ... Did you realise that those great Single Loop Drum presets can be dragged straight into Cubase from Maschine either as a Midi File or Sample? ...Next to the Pattern length on Maschine, there's a couple of little icons...Midi Data or Sample... Simply drag into your DAW and voila!! ...
    Hope this helps :)
    Feedback and further tips welcome.

      Thanks! It's a tough call, and it really comes down to: the style of production you do, whether or not you have others you are collaborating with, if you're doing traditional studio recordings with bands or just producing everything on your own, if you need to do music production and sound design, if you want to work at a certain place with a certain DAW, wether you play live, and then even the genre of music you are making. Hello Jeff I trust all is well just wanted to a question about Maschine. Is there was to fix lengths and velocity on multiple notes as you do in Cubase ?

    • @jefgibbons
      @jefgibbons  4 роки тому +1

      Thanks Creed! I think the lengths thing is still on the feature requests list, but if you want to adjust velocity on multiple notes, you can just select them all and bring one of them up or down. If you want them all to be the same velocity, just select them all, then grab the lowest velocity note and drag it all the way up. Then you can lower them all and they'll all be at the exact same velocity.

      @@jefgibbons I'm primarily a guitar player and I recently bought a maschine mk3 so I can do a better job of layering synths, bass, drums, keys etc. over the neo-soul style riffs I've written. I hope that helps you narrow down which expansions to suggest :)

      @@0870003343 Nice! I'd start with Prospect Haze, that might be my all time fave (and was one of the first I purchased). Magnetic Coast has some great kits...Faded Reels is Lofi but very Neo Soul too... Same goes for DJ Khalil! And I LOVE Basement Era... an old one but a good one!

      @@jefgibbons Thank you so much! I'll pick up Prospect Haze asap and I'll probably pick up the rest whenever there's a sale. Love your videos btw, they've been extremely helpful in my musical journey!

    why did they choose those chords? is it because of their diatonic sound? or is there some theory behind it?

    For Major chords you want to be using #11 so it doesn’t clash with the maj 3rd.

    • @thearno2885
      @thearno2885 4 роки тому

      E.g play a Dmaj over a C maj. The D has the F# which is the #11.

    Hi Jeff, great tutorial. Care to explain how to get the chords option to work recording it in cubase? Regards, Marc

      I've asked Jeff to do a tutorial on this as I had the same problem.. However, I think I've sussed it, but it's late so I'll double check my findings tomorrow and report :-)

      Ohh I found. Scarbee Mark 1, right? I might be helpful to mention that it's part of Massive, and that it's required to install that before. Just to help out beginners like me ;)

    hi, Maschine miss the option "humanize" for the chords

    • @jefgibbons
      @jefgibbons  4 роки тому +1

      That would be perfect... I guess you could always go in and shuffle notes around to make the chords sound more authentic! (velocities too)
