    Hello, I just wanted to thank you for your wonderful instruction videos - you've a real knack for clear, warm, and encouraging communication. I'm a total novice and I've started but never finished many projects, now thanks to you I have a very respectable washcloth and I'm almost finished a tunic! People demand I show them how to do your feather/fan stitch! You seem like a really lovely lady with wonderful wisdom, many thanks again and best wishes to you from northern Ireland xxx

    I just want to say Thank You So Much!!! I'm a very new self taught beginner Knitter 😳, and this is my favorite blanket to make! I just finished one for my daughter, and doubled the yarn. I used Caron's Simply Soft in Strawberry, and it came out gorgeous, it's so soft and squishy 😜. I'm now making another for myself, single stand, and I'm striping it. I'm using yarn I bought from Hobby Lobby, and it's SO SOFT. Love it!

    @anabalp
    I used "I love this cotton"
    It's a very soft yarn. It's sold at Hobby Lobby.
    I used size #8 knitting needles.
    2 balls of yarn will give you 3 washcloths.
    The largest part of it is about 50 to 55 stitches, depending on the tension you knit (how tight or loose) As you knit, you will know how large you want it, since all sides measure the same. When you have the measurement you want on the 2 sides you have, then you start decreasing.
    Be well and Happy Holidays!
    Joanne

    Thank you JESUS,,,, I have been ill for the many years. No knitting. Now it has been a week and I watching you.
    It is taking me many times just starting…my left hand has Dupatrin , not sure of spelling.. so it takes some time. Easy to follow.
    I am 78 yet and just found out I have LUPUS…,, that explains why I was ill for many ears. Your my Savior, thank you
    I did the first five rows, I am good now. It’s 12:10 on this Tuesday night. Thank you for being there for me.
    Before I was I’ll, I made many of them. I like you five stitches to begin with. Judy West Allis Wi. 🥰

    If it's difficult to start with 5 and do the center one after 2 rows, you can cast on 6, knit 4 rows and start with the (knit 3, yarn over) increasing rows
    You can do it!

      Carrie Cronkite So glad to know this! They are pretty. I make them all year round for gifts. Sometimes I make them with thinner cotton yarn and put a sashay bag with lavender inside, instead of soap. A bag with lavender soap would be wonderful for having next to your bed and and have the smell help you sleep. Yes!!! Happy New Year!

    so my guess is if you want to make it longer than wider you get to as wide as you want then start K3 yo and K2tg knit to end for as long as you like then decrease is this correct?

    • @JoannesWeb
      @JoannesWeb  7 років тому

      Because you start at one corner and finish on the opposite corner, it becomes a square. It would look like an elongated kite if you do it the way you say. If you want it a rectangle, start on one side and knit as long as you wish. You can still make a yo, k2tog at the beginning of each row to have that pattern.

    • @JoannesWeb

      With the tail of the left over yarn, still connected to the washcloth, you make a chain of about 15, with E or F hook, then cut the yarn and sew tail to other side of the corner.
