As a nurse, this really melted my heart. Dr. Bailey asked the doctors to tell her themselves to whom George's organs will be transplanted because George is a REAL PERSON and not just pieces of meat, so she wanted these doctors to treat him such and the recipients as well.
chocolate luvah Bailey would have no say on where the organs would go or who they would go to She wanted to let these people know that George was a special human being and that the people who were going to receive his organs were people too not just cases
I think it was more than that too, she wanted to know who the organs were going to - who’s lives George was saving. And he saved many, when the doctor said the name of a little girl that George was saving with his kidneys, she stopped to look at George and nodded. She needed to know /who’s/ lives he was saving, that was her closure.
@@inkystars19 but George was her fav. He would've been great Dr coming back from the army. What could've been a huge change on George but he decided to leave instead.
It was interesting to see how, after a bit of confusion, it suddenly dawned on the receiving doctors why Bailey wanted to know. Because the second guy answered with a lot of compassion and understanding.
The sense of hearing is the last to go when you die, and when a person is donating organs, life support keeps then alive until the very end. She did that with the believe that George could not only still hear, but at the end of his life would hear the names of each person who's life he was saving. She did that not only for the receiving doctors, and for her own grieving heart, but for George O'Malley's heart as well.
This show has hundreds of tear-jerker scenes, but this one is on a whole another level. The song, the acting, the dialogues... Bailey's shaky "thank you" and "lungs" get me every time.
+Hunter Ronin That wasn't why she was asking where and to whom his organs were going to. She was asking them because she wanted to know for herself since George was her favorite intern.
@@hunterronin2353 Bailey had no authority on where the organs went, not even Webber had authority over where organs go for donation. There’s a system and a list for all of them to follow and they can’t go against it. Izzy tried changing the course of where a donor organ went before and she failed because someone else needed the heart and she made a rash decision that failed both her and Denny Ducette anyway. Agreed Georgikins will be remembered through my heart I hate watching the show without him there it breaks me and I have ptsd about his death in my dreams
Not a real fan of the serie but I gotta admit this scene is a true masterpiece. The screenwriter managed to find a very delicate way to pay the right tribute to O’Malley’s character.
I absolutely agree and I stopped watching after they killed off the George O’Malley character because I knew it wasn’t going to be the same without him because he was my favorite character by a landslide
I just saw the episode of Amelia giving birth Shonda really left me crying on the last episode because what bailey did to Amelia during her pregnancy is what George did to Bailey during her pregnancy
Christina and Georges have the best goodbye in this show. O'Malley's death was surprising but so well done written. With respect and we see the impact on each character. For Cristina, wow, it was amazing to me. All the season 10 was written for a fucking great departed
I really wish we had gotten to see bailey go through where rest of the organs where going bc this was what really made me realize that George was dead but still helping others
Despite TR knight and shonda rhimes being at odds until he left or whatever, at least the show gave him an ending where it meant something. Showed george was a good man. Also, glad Knight and rhimes are on good terms, last time I heard.
It would have been nice to hear where all his organs where going. Even after these years this scene still makes me cry and I have such respect for doctors, nurses, donors and their families. I would save a life if I can. God forbid but I would want my baby to save a life too.
the show lost so much intention because of what they done with gerorge character, he was the best and most complex feelings with his wife calie cand his true love lizze. all what i know from the comments is that george was loved one more than any main couple like meredeth and derek. i don't know why the killed him but i think the main actors discuss that with the producers.
Sin duda para ella fue lo mas difícil porque georges siempre el mas tierno y el mas apegado a ella, cuando ella se embarazado georges era quien mas la extraño y no dudo en abrazarla cuando volvio
Only thing I wish this scene differently was, let Bailey go to each Doctor. I too would want to know where my baby's organs were going. I'm all for saving a life.
i think its stupid the whole who decides to say if george will donate his organ like obviously he would, he was a doctor and spent his life saving lives (which is why he died in the first place)
Jessica Vetter she had way more than problems. But geez even with friends of yrs. she was still well I won’t say that word 😂. I only watched that show until O’Malley’s dead.
I know its a fake tv show and the actor is perfectly ok and not hurt at all, but george (the character) isnt! And i wanted to cry just watching this! I wish they hadn’t killed him :(
It's heartbreaking because George was her favorite. I bet that she could still recite where his organs went even in season 12.
Jeremy Kristoff they should have one of the recipients come to the hospital
even now i bet she can do it
Mollusque right

Countrycowboy08 Bailey was asking because she felt that George was a Hero and that his organs should go to someone who deserved them.

This breaks my heart. She is losing all her interns. This is so sad making. Nobody deserves this. Bailey is so strong
Meredith and Alex are still there

Bailey does the right thing by making sure that George's organs are going to people who are worth it and need it

Which episode was it, when Miranda introduced George's mom to all of the recipients?
I think she wanted to hear the names ect because she needed to believe it all make some sense, that it didn't happen for nothing.
I need Bailey to mention George in more recent episodes about anything, just mention him, please :(
she has mentioned him so...
In the most recent episode, he is kinda mentioned when Tuck says his full name. It made be think of George since she named Tuck after George.
He was also mentioned in the 300th episode when Richard and bailey were in the hallway after checking up on the look alike George O’Malley
Jacquelyn B ah yes the look alikes which made the trip scared for their lives
When Amelia was giving birth, bailey did exactly what George did to her when she was giving birth.
This sucks, George was the best in the entire show... The series feels a little empty with him

i didn’t know i could be this sad over the death of a fictional character. my heart physically hurts
That's how the deaths start :3 It's like freakin domino :3
Damn this scene. I miss these five and their incredible relationship with Bailey
This still gets me emotional about a decade later
This is still one of the most heartbreaking and beautiful scenes Greys has ever given me...
all these years later and this scene still guts me. 😭😭😭
Even in death George is helping people.
it is a hard story but so impulsive. this song is perfeckt in this story.

Bailey's mother moment to her favorite intern
Touching scene
It still doesn't feel real. Stuck in the the denial stage.
Rip George,sloan,lexie,and derek😭😭😭 5 likes wow
It would be super cool if they made an episode where one of georges organ recipients came to the hospital.
Things like this make me emotional because it bring me to my life and Idk what I would do💔😭I love this show sm😭💔❤️

Wouldn't it be a great full circle if one of the recipients turns up at Grey Sloan as a new intern....
i cry every time
Where my man’s organs going
George kind of reminds of Radar, in M*A*S*H series.
Radar O Reilly was one of my fav in M A S H So was George in GA. Yeah agree they have some similar moments
I cried when George died he was my favorite one on Grey’s Anatomy
this just breaks my heart...

How cold of them, their partner just died and they distribute his organs as if it were nothing.
why cut it off? it wasn't over yet
George😭
