The fireball 100 is a beast. I love mine. I have had it close to 2 years now. I have mine paired with a MESA oversize 4-12 or with an old Carvin 4-12 with High energy speakers. works great with both cabs.
My personal amp for years. She's a real workhorse and surprisingly versatile due to the mid focus and the overlap between the High EQ and Presence. Really let's you dial in a completely different gain charachter on the lead channel.
The best deal Ive gotten so far in my G.A.S. days (imo)... A mint three month old Fireball 100 with the Z4 and a cover (and the box) for $1k cash... I jumped on that deal faster than Pam jumped on Tommy... Love that amp. I dont ever see myself selling that amp...
I have the 25 and it's great for recording. It's got a built in load and lineout so you don't even need a cab if you're just recording. Just switch the cab off. Amp is not missing anything by not having a resonance control. There's just always big wide low end that doesn't get boomy or muddy unless you crank the bass way past usable.
I definitely prefer ENGL amps over any other brands, allthough many of them are amazing as well. I researched your ENGL reviews before purchase. Keep on further! Cheers!
I have two ENGL amps, Powerball 2 and Fireball 100 and they sound awesome. Why i got to them is that i bought Peavey 6505 and it died in under a year, so i got it waranty replaced by other amp but it wasnt for me. So i ended up buying ENGL and i fell i love with them. Made in EU with love means alot. They are heavy, tight and works for old school trash to post metal and to djent.
I got a fireball 25 last year and it's my favorite amp I've owned. Not sure if I'll want a bigger amp in the future, but if so, I would consider the fireball 100.
I bought the 100 a few months back, incredible amp, so raw and heavy! I still have the 60 I bought about 20 years ago, but needs some new tubes now. I only need the gain on the lead channel about 10 or 11, much like yourself Jon. Its more than enough for even death metal. Its still extremely heavy, but super tight at that setting, anything more and it slowly starts to loosen the sound, but still sounds great if thats what you're into.
Definitely my favorite Engl. Since getting a Driftwood purple nightmare signature the Fireball just sadly sits in a corner. You could try to compare them but there really isn't. I'll keep it as a backup and for the difference in 6L6 tube difference as the Fireball just has a huge amount of low end.
Good as always! Another good video on the Fireball 100 and good capture too. I'll buy once I get a Quad Cortex for sure. ENGL as a profound understanding of tube amps.

Can’t go wrong with an Engl, let alone the mighty Fireball.
1:15 I don't know if those settings are those with which you recorded the demo but from my experience ENGL amps can sound good even with the master at 0.5 like shown in the video, while with a JCM 800 for example you have to turn it up really loud to hear its voice properly (I love JCM 800), ENGL amps suffer less this thing and can work pretty well at lower volumes. Of course getting the speaker moving properly is always better
hey Jon!!! I've had my fireball 100 for about a year now...I pair it with my mesa mark IV in a stereo rig and it sounds killer!!! currently selling some gear and am debating the bogner uber ultra or the re-issue mesa mark 2C+...cheers brother!!!
I absolutely love ENGL amps. I recently purchased an ENGL Fireball 25 for I wanted to switch from playing only through plugins on my pc. Unfortunately the amp was in combination with an 1x12 V30 cab still to powerful. Even on 1 W or gain just cranked up a little bit. My hobby room is on the floor my mother-in-law is living. And she said, she is hearing the vibes. So I had to sell the amp again. It still makes me very sad.
It's a nice Amp. I tried the Fireball 60, Powerball and owned an Invader. Then I sold it and bought another one lol. BTW Can you do a review of the Engl Invader 100 or the MK2 preferably with a 7 string?
@@SonicDriveStudio Cool. To be fair, the Kraken model on the QC is one of the better models on there. Just haven't found decent captures of the Kraken.
wow. coooh. you translated fire to feuer. Das muss wahre harte Liebe sein, mein Freund! so engl is from bavaria - thats deep german texas. just checked the wikipedia. it claims 7 employess. where are those amps actually build? engl clarify, correct your wiki.

I just got one fireball, mostly because of your reviews and your delightedness with this Engl amp, I am amazed by how it sounds. Thank you!

The Fireball 100 is my favorite ENGL amp. It's so MASSIVE sounding!
I got the fireball 25 with Engl 2x12 vertical cab, so far I can’t find a better set up! 🔥🤘🔥
I’ve yet to be disappointed by an Engl. I own the Powerball II and the Fireball 25 - both amazing amps.

Sounded amazing, ENGL are really something else. We need more new Tonex captures from you boss!
Yes please 🙏
🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
Yessssss more Tonex captures!
Yes, hope you do some more Tonex captures
I bought this and the Engl SE FE. They’re both beasts.
Those compliment each other well!
can't wait to have your revv capture pack, i love your captures man😍
my favorite 6L6 amp

For sure I'll go buy that capture package. Sounds awesome

The Fireballs are pretty underrated imo.
The 100 is massive and the 25 less massive but more vintage voiced.
I love the Fireball 100, I play mine ever day!

Run them together it’ll be amazing.
Good as always!
Another good video on the Fireball 100 and good capture too.
I'll buy once I get a Quad Cortex for sure.

Soon, if everything goes nicely, I'll buy an engl because of you! A matter of days, I hope :)
Would love for you to get the ENGL Artist Edition on the channel!

I'm happy your using a cabinet. I can really hear the difference! Awesome video! 🤘🤘
Fireball gang
What are the weird sounds at 8:16? Is that the sound of the capture or something wrong?
That's how it sounds when it's making the capture
Kemper pack?
Sounds great. Any chance you can do the Kraken MKII?
The last time I tried that amp the QC couldn't quite capture it but maybe I'll try one day
@@SonicDriveStudio Cool. To be fair, the Kraken model on the QC is one of the better models on there. Just haven't found decent captures of the Kraken.
This or Savage 2?
I've owned a Savage and a FB100. Of the two, I would get a Savage again. My FB100 used to get buried in live mixes
