Claudia Garcia came to Denver Health's Bariatric Surgery Center for laparoscopic roux en y gastric bypass weight-loss surgery on the recommendation of her primary care doctor. She lost 85 pounds in a year after her surgery. Garcia saw a change in her physical appearance, her level of energy and her mental health. She can now keep up with her kids and has been able to stop taking medication for high blood pressure.
