I would keep Jamarion Sharp for three reasons. 1) He's 7'5". If he can move even a little, that's an advantage. 2) We can stand him up in front of Wemby when the Spurs come to town. 3) He went undrafted, he's inexpensive.
You can't stand him in front of Wemby. He moves as good or better than Lively, and loves shooting on the perimeter. You put a big guy like that on Wemby and he's going to live at the 3pt line, which is what he'd rather do anyway.

big perimeter defender like pj, maxi or even grant williams was always a better defender against wemby than a slow ass center. as a mavs fan you should all know this by now because that's how we defend wemby.

Again, no. Porzingis is only in the lane on defense. On offense he's out at the 3pt line and you're not going to get an undrafted 7'5 guy who can play perimeter defense. If this guy had ANY skill whatsoever, he'd have been drafted.

I think Jam Sharp is more a replacement for Powell, not Maxi. Maxi is still a presence when healthy
But hes never healthy and his 3ball is beyond inconsistent. At this point im personally over him

If I'm Spencer I wouldn't want to re-sign because odds are he'll get traded again.
We will need to develop someone like this to guard KP and in the future where Wembenyama will start to dominate.
The ONLY reason to get a center like that is if you want to try playing Gafford at Center along with Lively at Power Forward for some time each game to prepare for playing a tall team like OKC. If Lively develops that 3 more or gets a decent little 8-10' jumper on the baseline, they could work together for short periods of time to help with the size issue we have when Kyrie and Klay are playing together. That means he might have to play 10 - 15 minutes in a game to rest one of the big guys. But I'd still rather have a big guy at 4 who can rebound a little and score in the post. They have to avoid the problem they had all playoffs long where they hit a 2-4 minute dry spell and lost contact with their opponents.

He was traded to the Knicks for Melvin Ajinca. He's ok but I would have preferred another 7ft option
In attack he is like Gafford, he needs high balls, in defense he is incredible, he forces shots to be forced and he makes 3 blocks every 18 minutes. He can defend outside and recover if he is surpassed. Perfect to defend Porzingis and stop Wembanyama. A second or third warranty center.
Jam sharp could also be a defensive piece against wemby edey or even kp
If hes a mobile 7'5 n can just shoot a spot up 3 and not be a vegetable like Tako Fall then let's sign him. He'd be needed when we go up against jokic and Porzingis

Trade Dwight and Kleber, try to get draft assets and go all in on o-max,g league best performers and still add Dennis Smith Jr.
Emanuel Miller (leonard's brother) could be a bigger addition honestly, and he's from TCU so given he's on the summer league team he might be looking for a two-way in Dallas. Solid 6'6 connector wing that I wouldn't have hated on draft night either.
Apparently, he got in trouble shooting a gun during a car repossession. That probably cost him a potential interest from some teams.

We need to trade Powell and Maxi and pickup a big tall who can play 4/5. Hopefully OMax can step in when PJ needs a break. I'm OK in giving Sharp a chance. If we don't find a decent 4/5 then get a backup point guard, I think Pat Bev or Flynn can give some positive mins with second unit.

2nd unit Pat Bev, Grimes, Ninja, OMax and Gafford.

Sharp is a possible G League stash and development player. Dude grew 7” in the past 3 years. He needs to add muscle. NOT NBA ready. Get him up to 265 lbs with added muscle and vastly improve his free throws and then you might have something.

You can't teach height, and if he has even a lil bit o' mobility. His defense will be a welcome addition. Sign him to a two-way, have Tyson work with him, bring in DSJ and that's your roster.

Two way guy at most to maybe stash for long term, size wasn't what did us in against Boston. 7' 5" gives me shades of Sim Bhullar or Pavel Podkolzin, looking more into him it's on his wikipedia page that he doesn't really love the game of basketball which gives more Shawn Bradley vibes. None of our new guys are passers, it wouldn't kill us to add one more bench playmaker

As a non maverick supporter, I don't believe they need a better roster. They need better tactics. The celtics were fronting and denying luka the whole series and there was not on back screen for him. It's so obvious, luke goes towards the ball to receive a 3 foot pass at the top of the key. This is terrible offense and the celtics exploited it. They need Kyrie and Luka to work off the ball, just enough so they can receive decent passes at the top of the key without burning time off the shotclock. This can very easily be achieved.
Why hasn’t AJ Lawson been given a chance? 2. Summers ago he balled out in LV. I don’t need to see more of him in LV.

Lively and gafford shot 1 3 pointer all season, COMBINED. They never doubled lively or gaff so I doubt they double him. If he’s eating so much that teams actually double him, then at the moment they make that decision, that team already lost the game . Ain’t no way you double the rookie center and leave LuKaiKlay open ANYWHERE on the court. He def sounds interesting but this wouldn’t be the first 7’+ they let walk in summer league

Lawson isn't on a 2 way contract. The mavs signed him to a 4 year deal. It think it was under 8 million total

I disagree, the need is not at the center position. For decades that was the issue with the Mavs but no longer is that the case. The issue we have is finding a bonafide ball handler to back Luka and Kyrie.
Kids recipe for success is having 3 ball handlers on the court for most of the game. He did it with Luka, Dinwiddie and Brunson. Go get Landry Shamet!

@@MavericksDigest Marcel that's cool. Have you seen the block Svi Myhailiuk blocked Mitchell Robinson a couple of years ago. Remember he has only a 6-4 wingspan. How he blocked him is crazy. This guy has insane hops for a 6-7 guy. He can dunk, he has playmaking ability, his 3 point shooting is deadly and he unlike THJ cancer go to the rack and score at the rim. He can defend pretty well. Interesting fact is Washington was his teammate in Charlotte. They met up in the Finals he was with Boston and Washington with Dallas. It's sad that he gets no respect when you have Markelle Fultz over him as a top free agent remaining is bad.
