We are so much alike! Structure is not my strong point. I have tried many curriculums with my 3 girls. We are doing ACE this year. I am hoping and praying it works for us. Thank you for taking the to make these videos.
I would love to know more about filling in the gaps with ACE. I think this would be so important for a lot of people, us included, that their children’s education was interrupted by covid. We are homeschooling this year, but I feel like we are still recovering, and also I feel like we haven’t been retaining info from our current curriculum.
Just Sew Trish well I totally understand. When I was reviewing for TOS I had to switch up the kids a lot and it did cause some gaps and def. got me concerned about those. If I see or remember where I have seen those hard cased binders I will let ya know. Def. check Staples and Office Max/Depot. Pretty sure they have some.
+Just Sew Trish Yes, we all those times...I have been leaning towards ACE for my youngest because it "seems" simple and my son loves simple ..."do this now do that and then let me go experiment on my own"....my oldest is more complex and loves getting lost in books....either way is fine...its just works for them works for me.
Gosh, I really like this! I think this may be perfect for my 3rd grader. This is what I am having trouble with ... I feel like I need to buy the same curriculum for both my girls. Like, if I buy this for my 3rd grader, I should also get it for my 5th grader. But I dont think my 5th grader needs this. Ugh. I know I need to let this mindset go, but I cant for some reason! Anyway, lol, thanks so much for posting this! Maybe I can convince myself to just order for my 3rd grader ;)
+Wildflower Homeschool and Tiny House Homestead I have the same problem. I want every one on the same curriculum. Why? Because it is easier on my brain. Do the diagnostic test. See if there is any gaps. 3rd grade level starts at pace 1025, so you work on the ones that are less than 1025. Same with the fifth grader, their level starts at 1049. Here is my disclaimer, this is the gap for the order of topics that A.C.E presents it. There is no real standard. With that said, it will let you test the water without spinning your wheels.
I love your vids they have helped so much. I totally have to ask though...did you know you had a jar of mayo on your desk? I ask because I have littles and sometimes things end up in the oddest places lol.
+spbyjasmine lol! I found it last week! My make shift pantry is behind me and my littles will "bring" me things all the time. You must be living it to notice!
+Jennifer Jackson type in your state and homeschool and see if you have a state association. Every state does. When you find it, look to see when and where they host their state convention. You can also find this information on HSLD.org
I got the first grade learning to read from A.C.E. I am still forming my opinion on how it compares to CLE. We are 2 weeks in. I can tell you already, it is a bit lighter compared to CLE. I will know for sure how I rate it against CLE after the 12 weeks.
+Tab Martin I found Lifepac and most of AOP to be a bit dizzy for the kids. BUT, I know families that are super successful using it! So if it working, keep it!
We absolutely LOVE ACE! Happy you are enjoying it :)
I loved your little bit at the end. It's so true that structure and peace/relaxation go hand in hand.

TY for sharing! Always so curious as to what y'all are doing. Excited to see how A.C.E works out for y'all.

I'd like to know more about ACE.
I will do a follow up video sometime next week. I will also do a video from convention.

How is ACE working out? Are you and your kids liking it? If you have done lifepac before if there much difference between them? Thanks! :)
+Carrie Allen tomorrow I am posting my update
Awesome thank you! :)
How do u find a Convention in your area?

did you get the ACE reading for your first grader? how does it compare to cle?

We are using lifepac. Does anyone have any experience with lifepac? My children used ACE at the school they attended.

Approximately how long does the diagnostic test take?
not to long. we did it in parts over two days. we were very relaxed.
