Something that really amazed me in this story, and that you would *never* see in a modern story, is the arrogant german criminologist, Dr. Zerndorff. Specifically, that he is genuinely good at his job, and was merely hampered by having logical, but incorrect, initial assumptions. In a modern story, a character like him would *always* be portrayed as an arrogant bumbling fool to make the protagonist look more competent. Here, the writer knows what he's doing, and doesn't need to make other characters morons to make the main character look good.
I mean, he keeps telling us to read the first ten in order, why not do audiobooks of all ten of them? Hell, he already did The Black Master, so he's already made that job a tenth easier.
@@KilroyWasHere83 not to mention the fact that they were reprinted out of order in the first place. “Let’s release the origin story as number 40-something. Why not?”
Really glad I found this channel! I love The Shadow and wish we would get a Pulp Hero revival somehow. A new show, movie or even audidrama. I have a record with 2 episodes of the old radio play and I throw it on and just enjoy getting lost in it.
Commenting for both the algorithm...But even moreso to express how much i adore your renditions of these audibooks. Words fail to convey just how great these are!
If they decided to make a new "The Shadow Movie" who would you want to star in it and what would you want the plot to be for a whole new start to a pulp universe
I'm imaging Homer Simpson wearing a slouch hat and black cloak... Villain: You see Shadow even though I have told you my plans, I do not believe you shall be able to stop them. Homer: Go on. Villain: For I had planned for a fourth bomb to explode tonight, ten minutes after I had left this room, which I meant to do nine minutes ago. Homer: Go on. Villain: It would have shown that I had been an intended victim, but now I believe I shall stay, along with another, and be killed by the blast. Homer: Go on. Villain: And that bomb, is set on a timer to explode in 30 seconds. Homer: Go on. Villain: And when it explodes, despite my confession, your chances of stopping my dastardly plan will explode with them. Homer: Go on. Villain: Because the bomb I'm describing to you is literally in this room right now and about to go off in five seconds. Homer: Go on.
Re-uploads?! Heck yeah, I'll listen to it again

i never expected to see the Villain WIN! or at least achieved all of his major goals.
wow.
Razörfist… Will you make an audiobook on the Living Shadow?
OH MY GOD, I JUST THOUGHT THAT AND CAME HERE TO SAY IT!
Please Razor, you know it’s the rarest one to physically own...

First Ten - In Order
Awesome. I was looking for something to listen to at work. Thanks!
This is a personal favorite of mine, an excellent listening experience.
I shown this to my grandfather and his face lit up. Thanks Razor. This was bad ass 🤘
Thanks for uploading these. Appreciate the effort in quality.
Wow.., this was way more intense than I expected. Thank you!
Shadow agent reporting for duty. Amazing work.

Please make more of these!
Just finished reading this one. Great audiobook, razor.
You spoil us good sir!
Great Voice work Razorfist.
Would you also do an audiobook of The Living Shadow?
I usually hate music in audiobooks. The way it's used here though is nothing short of electrifying.
Very cool deal sir! Listened to the whole thing while at work today. Way better than any modern stuff!
❤❤❤❤❤I use to rent the lp33 records
At my library bringsawsome memories
Awesome job.
Marvelous!

Love your reading of this story! Is there any way to download this as an MP3?
Do a search for best youtube to mp3. Might need to try a few different ones to do a whole 5 hour performance. Cheers
Viewers beware! Once you finish listening, it will ruin audiobooks for you because all other audiobook narrators will seem boring in comparison
The one they ripped off to make an inferior story in the dark knight movie.
History repeats.
Some 9/11 vibes with this one and this was written in 1938.
What's up with the reupload?
Migrating these over to the Shadowcast channel is all.
@@TheShadowcast I don't remember them being anywhere else 🤷♂️
@@imperialbricks1977They were initially in his main channel.
