- While overlanding through France (as part of my solo world trip), I discovered a WWI bunker I had to explore! But there's much more to discover around Verdun because it's filled with World War One memorials and monuments. Actually, the longest fight during WW I happened right here, lasting 302 days resulting in almost a million casualties on both the German and French sides. I saw movies like 1917, All Quite on the Western Front, and Peter Jackson's documentary The Shall Not Grow Old, so driving through a part of history is impressive.

Glad you liked it! It sure was an interesting day. It's very hard to imagine what it was like back then, and for what? But that's a question you can ask about any war...
