BoC themselves added it to both their youtube channel and official site. I'm even getting a lot of hits from warp.net, so I figure that if even the record label's cool with the video, it'll stay up for a while. All in all, everyone's been really cool and supportive.
Comment's ten years old, and i still come back to watch the video. Who knew a couple of guys from Scotland would make the perfect soundtrack for a spacejump? 😮😅
Argh! THIS is where we heard Dayvan Cowboy. Been listening to the album the last couple of days and with no direct hit on Google I've been jumping through a few videos to find it. An appropriate use of this song indeed!
I don’t care how old this gets…..this track on this video is inspirational no matter what it is that I’m doing this video always helps me out when i need that extra motivational push
the spinning view of earth when he is spinning wildly, him bringing his spin under control, and the smoothness of his landing are three of the most impressive moments for me. man, what a special achievement. solid editing. thanks for doing it so quickly.
Thanks dude. TBH I really don't care about views or anything, I'm not making money off of any of this, I just wanted to make something for other people to enjoy. Good to hear you liked it!
All due respect to Felix....but really you have to admire Joe Kittinger for pulling a stunt like this 52 years earlier...no where near the technology we have now.
It pisses me off that this video only has a little over a 100,000 views, meanwhile stupid videos have like a million, but you know what? It's not about how many views a video has, or what song is currently in, it's about what's good, and this video is FUCKING good!
Thanks for bringing me to tears once again Boards of Canada for the timeless beautiful music, Felix for the amazing jump and all the beautiful images, and you icannotfly, for the well made editing !
Perfect song for this. The intro is like climbing up through the clouds, until you get up above most of the atmosphere. Seeing the curvature of the Earth with your own eyes. Then the guitar kicks in and you fucking jump. Hurtle towards home at terminal velocity, at one with gravity. What a guy. What a song. What a video.
Should have configured his joystick before jumping. And boy, did the little capsule look wobbly as he prepared to jump.Fuck, I would have fricked myself and called for a taxi home. Sod jumping, Im not stupid.
We should all look past the advertising aspect of this, which is small enough; red bull put money towards the project. That in my eyes is eclipsed by the fact that this guy has balls VERY few people have. This song and video in combination feel to me like a tribute or testament of some sort to the power of the will to face fear. I'd love to know what was going through Felix's head right before he jumped. This is something very few people in human history have done; so ad's mean shit in comparison
Aw god damn it, did every BOC fan have the same idea?, I pulled a all-nighter as well! lol Good edit sir, I'll have mine up in a bit but still......god damn it.
Ah, gawd I'm slow, it took me a moment to realize who Felix B was. I like this, and I like the original with Joe Kittinger (makes me tear up every time I watch it).
I'd do anything to do what he did! I don't think the balls required for this are that rare.. Being in the situation where doing it was feasible is the rare thing.
When fucking meteor, tsunami, or whatever evil fuck hits our earth and wipes us out, this melody should be playing from speakers installed all over the world..
Such an awesome tune and vid thank you! It would be so very cool to see the curvature of the Earth through his eyes (think - the lack of curve we see on the horizon on the surface today). Not the fish eye lens that he was recording with, (Which was very cool for the time). Please, this is not a complaint in any form at all! Being that I have been fascinated by space since I was a child watching the first moon landing on a new 19in color TV that my mom and dad saved up for specifically. This is just another step towards our real future, one that could be so freeking awesome!
A perfect soundtrack to his feat. Really an amazing accomplishment...and he stuck the landing! BTW fans of this track might also enjoy this music: enpeg.bandcamp.com/track/obsolete-advancements
ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC - SAW THE OTHER VID ON HERE OF JOE'S ORIGINAL JUMP YEARS AGO, WITH SAME SOUNDTRACK, SO THIS IS A FABULOUS TRIBUTE TO A SERIOUSLY BRAVE GUY, A PIONEER, STUFF OF LEGENDS - THANK YOU
This is quite possibly the perfect combination of sound and vision.
+Hexagon Light Is that a Bowie reference?
As an after thought, yes. But I the comment sentiments first, reference, second. :P
+Hexagon Light I definitely agree. The part where he first jumps is incredible to the point where it makes me cry.
Yes!
Agree, I always rewatch this video.
BoC themselves added it to both their youtube channel and official site. I'm even getting a lot of hits from warp.net, so I figure that if even the record label's cool with the video, it'll stay up for a while.
All in all, everyone's been really cool and supportive.
It's incredible man, it should have 50 million views or something, I always come back to this.
Comment's ten years old, and i still come back to watch the video. Who knew a couple of guys from Scotland would make the perfect soundtrack for a spacejump? 😮😅
Quite disappointing because he doesn't go surfing at the end.
hahahah that's true
1:55 onwards where the music syncs to the jump is so amazing. That moment gives me goosebumps every time I watch it.
Argh! THIS is where we heard Dayvan Cowboy. Been listening to the album the last couple of days and with no direct hit on Google I've been jumping through a few videos to find it.

Boards of canada
the best fucking duo ever...
I don’t care how old this gets…..this track on this video is inspirational no matter what it is that I’m doing this video always helps me out when i need that extra motivational push
Can we also take a moment to realize this amazing trip was a decade ago now? BOC is one of my favorite tattoos and will always be 🙏🙏👃
Crazy to think this was about ten years ago
the spinning view of earth when he is spinning wildly, him bringing his spin under control, and the smoothness of his landing are three of the most impressive moments for me. man, what a special achievement.

Here 10 years later.

Everything that is great and beautiful about the universe, man and sound is here for your awakening. Go human, be free and beautiful :D
I've never heard of "Boards of Canada" but I'll wait until I can watch this with good headphones.. if it's really that good.
Thanks for bringing me to tears once again Boards of Canada for the timeless beautiful music, Felix for the amazing jump and all the beautiful images, and you icannotfly, for the well made editing !
I bet he wasn't listening to this when he jumped

Watch out for that first step - it's a doo . . . . . . .
*z i e* . . . . . . .
So beautiful. Almost makes me cry.
Mental Ecstasy! this is where my Spirit dwells in the Universal church.
My 2 favourite things in the world: this song and jumps from the stratosphere!
It was the original BoC video of Joe Kittinger that got me interested in Felix's jump. I couldnl't get BoC out of my head last Sunday afternoon.
CoooL Song & Video !!
(:ㄏ■ Д ■ :)ㄏ❤🧡💙
Finally the video is back
"The preparation for a dive is always a tense time" - BOC, Dandelion

This album is 18 now
Oh man, this is beautiful. Gave me chills.
I specifically turn commercials off for all my videos. They're still coming up? Try downloading Adblock.

eeby deeby
nice remake!

How is this track only 5 minutes long? Every time I listen to it, it feels like only 1 minute.
Super!
He was spinning for awhile there. Very cool.
too much advertising. I'm sure this video will get taken down because boards of canada isn't getting paid any royalties for this.
It's not about the views, it's about the viewers. But I agree it pisses me off too!
rEdBuLL
OMG HAHAHA!!! When I was watching this live, I had this 2 hour Boards of Canada mix turned on too!! Fucker stole my idea lmao

it's pretty messed up that i gotta watch a commercial before watching what is essentially another commercial.
Pretty cool! I know the song well and watched the jump live - so this is like peanut butter and chocolate...
Haha beat me to it. I was looking for footage without all of the text for too long. You did a good job though!
That hadn't been done when I made this video, but that's a really good idea.
yup! for years i've heard of people complaining about ads, and i''ve never seen them until i got my new laptop and hadn't yet installed adblock.
gotta admit, i thought this was going to be a lame takeoff of the original- but you did a really good job and this rivals the original video
@Jay SinghA We will have to agree to disagree then. How us human beings can perceive things so differently will never cease to amaze me.
Don't listen to the haters. You were making a spiritual successor and boy, you succeeded. Hair standing up on the back of my neck.

If I was directing a Superman origins film, I would use this stunning music, for the first time he he takes to the clouds.
I'm so glad someone did this... I knew when i saw him jump that this song would be perfect. I'm glad I'm not the only one.
Anyone know why if I post this to Facebook, no title or video preview shows up? Thanks...
P.
well if I find some HD footage I will make a video myself but with different soundtrack, and I will tell u of course.
Now you need to stick this together with Garret McNamara's surfing vid and you've the perfect 21st Century update ;)
I was sitting on the coach while writing paper and boom saw moon right when Felix jumped off and cymbals kicked in...
kinda like a more modern successor to the original one, very good.
Like this song one of the best of this duo. Great idea to mix it with this foolish record. Thanks to icannotfly
I appreciate any effort directed towards BoC, though my preference is the grainy/old feel of the original.
Mother earth she brought you home!!! Safely!! What an Absolutely Fantastic video!!!
I actually listened to this song while I the live transmission of Felix jumping.
...ESTA ES LA VERSIÓN NUEVA DE ESTE VIDEO....MUY BUENA....!!!! PERO ¿DONDE ESTÁ LA ANTERIOR?
only four mans have wings to fly so high..and two of them are Michael Sandison and Marcus Eoin
This is insane, I dream about doing stuff like this. This guy is a legend.
There using you to support there new record. lolz, your just part of there hidden puzzle.
very nice version but not better than the original one with captain joseph kittinger!!
This video kicks ass. So glad someone remade the original boc video with Felix's jump.
BoC goes always give me the feeling of going through space or being deep underwater...
Wow, my first two 302 videos in 12 hours. Thanks, guys!
I love that the originator, and the star of the original video, Joseph Kittinger, was in the control room while this was going on.
4:34 the man himself. Isn't that awesome?
I wasn't trying to be better, just different. Thanks!
A perfect soundtrack to his feat. Really an amazing accomplishment...and he stuck the landing!

I swear when i watched Felix 's Jump I cried and i remembered Boards Of Canada :)
This is ace! The original video to this was that first space jump.
"Looking down at the sky" is an interesting concept.
I tried, but finding clean source footage was tough.
Sorry but the vids a fake. Me and Stanley Kubrik put his together in my garage.
(Not in a mean way)
Fucking crazy ass humans ! Ahahah ! ^u^
Amazing video bro ,
So somebody figured it out to use that footage for it huh! good job. very good!
I didn't really know if the world was flat or round (nor do I care), but this proves to me that it's not round. If it is, it's pretty damn small !!!!!
If you could somehow take off the logos, this would be the superior version.
My son was born to this song. His name is Felix. All just a wonderful coincidence
try playing this song twice at the same time with a twenty second delay!!
Yo Felix, imma let you finish, but Joseph Kittinger was the best skydiver.
I hope it was the frisson you were expecting =D
this video actually shows more than those lazy RedBull edits. Good job
Felix has got ginormous balls. Jeez. Good matchup with BoC, thanks!
brilliant expression of what it feels to listen to boards of canada
aaaaaah nicely done! this video should be combined with this song!
A nice wee update to a cool video n a excellent track :)
The uploaders name being "i cannot fly" really adds to this.
Found this video on the BoC UA-cam channel. Completely awesome!
ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC - SAW THE OTHER VID ON HERE OF JOE'S ORIGINAL JUMP YEARS AGO, WITH SAME SOUNDTRACK, SO THIS IS A FABULOUS TRIBUTE TO A SERIOUSLY BRAVE GUY, A PIONEER, STUFF OF LEGENDS - THANK YOU
I wanted to do it too, this music fits so well with the video !
Baumgartner's a lightweight. He didn't even take his surfboard.
7 people need to jump out of this capsule without a parachute.
