I have the Trelino, been using using for 3 months full time in my rv. I love it, highly recommended. So simple, no fiddly parts to break. I just use pine shavings. I attached it to the floor using velcro, so i can remove it if i wish to thoroughly clean it.
We used our new Trelino toilet for 9 weeks during our recent Aliner camping trip out west. We are very happy we purchased this toilet. My wife used our new Trelino and found it more comfortable and more secure than the three-legged folding Reliant toilet she had been using. For the waste bucket drying additive, we used coconut coir, potting mix (no soil), and clay-based cat litter. [ I recommend against using cat litter because it has its own objectionable smell.] I suspect pine pellets, pine bedding, peat, or activated charcoal would also work well. A quick vinegar-water spray (1 part vinegar to 3 parts water in our case) cleans up the urine diverter after each use. I added the waste from my urine bottle to the Trelino each morning and then emptied the Trelino liquid container into a nearby toilet. I also rinsed the inside and outside of the liquid container after emptying it. Urine salts can build up in the liquid container, but a soak in vinegar will help keep the bottle clean. The solid waste bag was tied up, placed in a trash bag with other garbage, and discarded in the nearest trash can as needed. As a rule, this was part of my morning routine and it worked very well. There were several times when we went more than a day before emptying the toilet and there were no odors whatsoever, even in a small trailer in warm weather. I highly recommend the Trelino toilet, which is relatively affordable, well-built, durable, and perfectly functional.
Thank you for the helpful tips! We are also very happy with our Trelino and we take care of "business" pretty much the same way and I agree that cat litter is not a good option.. we have decided to stick with "pet litter" (used for hamsters, rabbits, etc..). Glad to hear that you love your Trelino, as we do too! Happy Camping!
Quick suggestion - if you put the lizard coco fiber blocks into a bin, add a few cups of water and let them sit. They'll suck up the fluid and will fluff out. Let that dry (usually overnight) and it will be much easier to sprinkle. 🙂 How comfortable is the seat? Thank you for the reserve.
Thank you, great suggestion! We will try that this weekend. The seat is very comfortable and we have been very happy with our purchase. Since there’s no agitator and venting system, how is the smell? I was looking into the OGO and just about pushed the “proceed to payment” and hesitated because of the vent/agitator need of power.
The smell is never bad as long as we use plenty of litter, also very important to keep the liquids separate from the solids, and the Trelino does a great job of this!@@lotuslodgespa3167
@@cstorres8243 THANK YOU TONS for responding and SO quickly!!! I appreciate your opinion. I’ve been contemplating between the ogo and trelino. I’m actually glad I “accidentally” stumbled across this video on the trelino cuz I was just a split second from investing in the ogo. The thing I don’t like about the ogo is the fact you have to have power. I’m planning on not being around “power” all the time and didn’t want to be sol lol! I also didn’t want to screw around with venting outside and running wires to the pot. Thank you also for the tip on the horse stall pellets. We’ve had ours for about 3 months now and use it full time. We have the nice wood top one. We use the coconut coir and works fine but I found that it retains moisture with that comes this smell. I install two tiny 12v fans ,on one side it draws fresh air in and on the other side exhaust the air to a 1 1/2” hose to vent out the back of the trailer. The problem solved, the fans draw just a few watts and are silent. The fans run 24/7
Thanks for the review. Their website doesn't make it perfectly clear about the membrane accessory, however, your video clarified that. Btw, Costco tp is great too! :))

How about the feminine “splash back” problem with liquids partially going into the solid container? I read where that is a major problem in some cases. May we hear from the lady?
Hi this is Sandy and I’m the lady you see with Mr Robert Rocking his Retired Life :) So we’ve been using the Trelino since May 2023 and I couldn’t be happier with this product. There have been times when I had to be more careful or intentional with how i sat on the potty to ensure liquids go to the front and solids to the back but it’s easy to get the hang of. And the rubber gasket on the front reduces or eliminates splashback. Another great feature is how everything comes apart to quickly and easily clean, and then put back together in a snap, which makes the learning curve less daunting. A couple pro tips: • ALWAYS spray the front compartment with vinegar after #1 and there’s no odor at all • Use WAY MORE shredded paper litter, coco core, dirt, or whatever compostable material you’re adding to the solids hole when you do a #2. It will eliminate the odors and provide a good base for the next time as well. • And finally, we use a small waste bin with a lid for our used TP so that allows longer use between swapping the bag out of the solids container. Hope this helps! And hope you use our affiliate link in the description below 🚽
Thank you for the unboxing vid, very helpful! Also thanks for your affiliate link, we’ll be sure to use it. I’ve read in reviews on the Trelino website that the lid is not sturdy enough to be used as a seat. Is this true? We’re planning to replace a small RV wet bath toilet with the Trelino, and in such a tiny shower it’s nice to be able to sit down. We’re asking Trelino directly about this, and also asking about their optional “seat cover,” sold separately, and whether it helps firm up the lid for sitting. Just wondering what your opinion is on the matter (or anyone else’s here who’s got a Trelino). Thanks!
Answering my own question, the answer given in my on-line chat with Trelino reads, “Yes, you can use the lid of both the Trelino Origin and the Evo models as a seat without any problem.”
Great question! Thank you for using our affiliate link, and I believe you will love the Trelino, we use ours regularly and it never fails. As far as using it for a seat, we have only used this for a seat a few times and it worked for us but I would definitely reach out to the folks at Trelino on that. We have used it in both our 5th wheel and our Travel Trailer and it works great!
Where does the "mixing" part come in? On the maker of the composting toilet I've seen so many videos of, there's a handing you have to turn to "mix" the compost material and the human waste. So, there's no mixing with the Trelino?
Hello, thanks for the great question, there is no "mixing" needed in the Trelino Evo. That's just one of the beautiful features of this very easy to use composting toilet. We just put the compostable paper filler (Rabbit or pet filler) into the big hole for human waste and it does the rest for you, no mixing needed. If you purchase this item, please use the link in our description, thanks!
Hi, I am wondering if you know if it’s safe to compost the liquids and solids in your backyard? How much liquid and solid do you think it holds before you need clear it. Thanks!
Thanks for watching and for the great questions, not sure about the solids, we throw those in the trash can with the included bags, liquids should be ok though? We usually go about three days to fill it up when camping off grid.

@@RockingTheRetiredLife yeah you have to add water to the coco fiber to expand it out & then you let it dry before use.
