  • In this video, I go behind the scenes to look at all of the juice, polish, and flair of 'makenines' - an ambient logic-puzzle game, completely free on mobile. What makes this game 'aesthetically beautiful' and 'incredible in its sound and visual design'? Let's break it down!

Really nice breakdown. Showing that level intro transition at normal speed before showing it in slow-motion would help with understanding, like this it felt a bit weird. Otherwise I have nothing to complain about.
As you wish, I shall never stop polishing my game :P
Other examples of amazing thematic polish or cohesive numerology in games: Dicey Dungeons with the number 6 and Cinco Paus with the number 5 (to be fair, almost all of Michael Brough's games have strong numeric cohesion).

Darn! I think that's the only one that I didn't slow down. Lucky there are speed controls on UA-cam!

@@forceofhabit No I meant that it SHOULDN'T have been slowed down at first. Or maybe it was just that it looks very choppy slowed down, made it seem like the video lagged at first.
Galaxy brain level would be of course to record the game doing the animations in slow-motion so they stay smooth instead of post-processing a normal speed video to slow motion.
But again that is high level nitpicking here.

@@antonklinger Double-darn! I hadn't thought of recording slower-footage in real-time. I can totally do that too, it's just I took this footage off device (where I can't do that...). I will do this in future! Thank you for the feedback.
