The tub chair is exactly what I have been looking for. My dad (T4 complete para) lives in a rental apartment in NYC so we can't really do a whole lot in the way of home modification. Giving him a bath is one of the biggest ordeals we've had to deal with. Thanks for sharing some of your tips.
Kay, I end up using a small transfer board, with a towel, from a commode to the bath seat. I also have a hand grip. It is a portable suction one that I bought for $100,00. It was expensive but it will hold 200lbs. I am only 140 lbs. so it will hold me for sure when I use it to pull across to the tub chair. I used to use a tub bench in a normal tub when I first got out of the hospital and lived in an apartment.
Hi. My son is a T5 complete from motorcycle accident since June 16, 2018, he is 33. He has no spasms at all, & is determined to walk, because what's on paper doesn't always mean that one won't walk.
Thank you for sharing your home. We have just bought a one-story house and are making modifications to make it accessible to our 25 year old daughter who is in a wheelchair. I really like the pull-down shelves you have in your kitchen. Can you please tell me how to spell the name of the company that manufactures them? They would be very useful in her bathroom as well.
katimomkat Sorry I didn't check this sooner. The company is www.richelieu.com/en/ I hope that you have already found suitable hardware to help out your daughter.
Extremely helpful. I like the bathroom sink with drawers to the left and shelves on the right for toileting items! Thanks!

This man opens his home up to show the modifications he has made to it since becoming a paraplegic and being confined to a wheelchair.

oh my gosh this was amazing. Thanks so much for some more great ideas!
This is great, he has thought about everything. just the sort of modifications I would do if I could afford it.
How do you afford things like elevators & special cabinet inserts?
I would have to have support bars in my bathroom as well a shower chair in the shower
