I love my Raptors, the 5th Company of mine is coming along nicely...mine are inspired by the Australian outback and also have orange bases, it contrasts so well. Thanks for the video
I’ve always enjoyed the raptors because of their change of pace being tactical and using camo etc instead of just being shock troops. Many years ago my brother started an army of them and we researched all types of camo equipment and he especially liked ghillie nets and weapon wraps and converted many of his minis to have them, it did look very cool especially on a jungle/ forest board.
‘If you guys want to see me paint an original Raptor Legion colour scheme…’ YES, as a raptor player to be frank, I would love to see you tackle every Raptor Colour scheme. Snow camo, desert camo, urban, wetwork, the original blue and yellow, basically anything with an eagle on the shoulder 😂. Awesome paint job in this vid as well🔥
The Raptors are definitely an interesting chapter. Nice job sir. I'd like to see you paint up a marine from the Carcharodons. Now those guys are awesome.
@@MediocreHobbies been working on it this week 😀 did a leadbelcher base, black wash, Necrons comp dry brush, then added the green contrast. Looks ok so far...
The Raptors. 40k's in house reasonably marines. And while I love space marines their tendency to forgo cover and just be a sledgehammer. I gotta love the Raptors their rejection of such pomp. Camouflage, assassination and appearing being so good at hiding that the imperium lose track of them on occasion.
Honestly seeing this painting guide for the Raptors Chapter is pretty interesting compared to how I did it a few years ago. Ive been meaning to go back and paint again as I want to add to my army.
Love this lore, chapter and painting guide Andy. What are your thoughts on a cammo scheme. Tiger stripes, urban, jungle, ghillie. suit and more importantly, are you gonna paint another. Still waiting for Dark Elves mind!!!!
I love how they change colour depending on the terrain. My Raptors are urban camo. But I would have picked an assault intercessor with chainsword for a chapter that prefers range and stealth 😅
I really like the military green paint scheme you chose for this chap. Superb. Might I ask please what that wooden painting handle you use is called (I mean as an item; have never seen its like before)? It looks very convenient and if one could fashion a little case where it could slot in at the bottom it would be ideal to have 7-8 of these and park them there safely while switching between them. Please accept my thanks for your time and kind attention.
Here you go! They come as part of a case or in these packs and they're perfect for exactly what you described! frontierwargaming.com/product/miniature-holder-for-the-paint-case/
@@MediocreHobbies You are a star! I am very grateful for your helpful and kind reply. I have been using coca cola/mineral water bottle caps throughout my years in the hobby but I just saw this on your video and it caught my attention. Thanks again!
Love the Raptors. They are my favorite chapter of Space Marines and one I hope to make an army of one day. Great job on the paint job
Thanks man, hope you get them together some day, they’re a great looking force and very enjoyable to paint
This gives me an idea to do a raptors Phobos kill team with multicam armor
Eh...hell yes
Phobos pattern marines / Reivers are perfect for Raptor colours
I'm gonna do it. I'm gonna make a 40k raptors army! I don't even play 40k. They're just so cool I want to have it!
Aw awesome! Yeah they’re such a cool chapter!

Aw i love that! very cool setting for them!
Very cool, i really do enjoy the raptors story and their style. Enjoying the Space Marine series!
Good to hear, it's been fun making it!

Interesting take on my fav chapter. One could also drybrush/overbrush with death guard green instead of layering, to speed things up.
Yes definitely, great idea!

Hey hey hey...i just meant the yellow and blue one hahaha
Oh man, I absolutely love the look of this, and so great that it's pretty quick and easy!
Cheers!!
This looks absolutely amazing! Great job!
Thanks so much! Glad you liked it!
@@MediocreHobbies I do have a question, how would you paint a vehicle/dreadnought in this scheme?
The color scheme looks great! I think the green is better for camouflage than bright colors. I like the lore too. Thanks for sharing this.
Glad you enjoyed it man, having fun with these ones!
Awesome vid.
I love Raptors and do plan to paint a few.
Raptors are awesome. Great to see your take on them and hear some lore. Ta mate
Glad you enjoyed the vid, always appreciate the support

I’ll add them to the list 😊 glad you enjoyed the video!
Always a good day when the Raptors get some love!
Haha very true!
Lovely scheme and paint job. Thats going on my list to try out 👏
Sweet, love hearing that!

Hahahaha yes
vehicle tutorials on this chapter would be great ngl.
And yes, can never go wrong with the retro alt scheme either.
Not sure if I'll time for vehicles but the schemes would be fairly simple to translate anyway!
I have an army of Raptors, they're so nice and easy to paint.
Yeah i'm impressed with how easy it is to get them looking great!

Might help speed things up for you then!
Raptors were one of my original 3 chapter picks but I eventually went with Executioners
Not a bad choice there!
Nice job on the brief lore and paint job
other chapters?
The Soul Drinkers
On the list, thanks man
Genial video, con ganas de ver el siguiente.
Glad you enjoyed! 😊
Badab War Chapters you say, lemme see them Lamenters. Love the raptors, but I am too deep in my Templars!
Don't ask me to paint yellow...:D I'll do my best!
@@MediocreHobbies Imp Fist yellow and Bad Moon yellow contrast are excellent over bright White or wraithbone :)

I just decided to make a Raptors chapter myself! It’ll be my first marine army. I used Orange for the eyes and power weapons though.
Oh sweet idea with the orange! They're a great chapter!
Big Raptors fan, here. Nice job 👍🏻
Appreciate it!
the chapter made up of highly operative operators being very operational
Aye indeed

Well…that might have made more sense 😄
@@MediocreHobbies just poking fun 😜 love the format and it's mostly about the painting anyway right? Keep up the great work 🤘🏻
Relictors - so many conversion opportunities
Not big on conversions myself but agreed!
Remember, Raptors were rescued by Ultramarines.
Yet another Chapter owing its existence to the Avenging Sons.
Hmmm i guess you're right!
You should do one on the nova marines!
added to the list!
I'm still upset about those Crimson Fists comments...but thanks for the great video!
I'm still upset about how well that model turned out!

Time permitting I would love to see some rare cheaper vehicles as well as marines
Will see what I can do!
can you check the black consuls ? :)
My new stormcast video will help you with that a bit i think!
Dark krakens?
Perhaps!
I hope Sons of the Phoenix are on this list.
They are indeed!
I wonder how space marine chapters based off movies like Jurassic park, jaws, robocop etc
That would be cool to see for sure!
👍
:)
How do you paint secrets?
Nobody knows…
Ok, here is idea for another one.... Mentors!
On the list!
I THINK I SPEAK FOR EVERYBODY DEMANDING DUE ATTENTION FOR THE SCYTHES OF THE EMPEROR!
(capital letters fully intentional)
THEY'RE ON THE LIST :D
