You got to love this guy , like Da vinci , in his shop even though cold outside ,wearing a head toque still performing tasks so we in Canada and the rest of the world can see how to make things. Donn you are a very inspiring young man even scale as Jordan Peterson from Canada. I really love all your projects , just wish I had enough time to do some of them. Ben Epp Alberta
Due to the small corner I work in the barn that can be heated temporarily like a green house I have to have portable tools that mainly grip in the vise like this bender. They take up small amounts of room when not used. Welder becomes handy indeed. It would be hard to fabricate something without one. Thanks for watching! ;)
Thanks for sharing! Im currently in a project putting up a garage door opener in my shop. But the roof is too low, so I need some special brackets. Ok, well lets make them, except I don’t have a metal break, OK, lets make that too! Mines not as big as yours, maybe could fit 30” material in it.
+quaddingsous I attached the snip due to my limited space in the shop - I can put it away into the corner if not needed (no legs). Thanks for watching, I mean it. ;)
+domenic e It surprisingly did. I was doubting but saw other peoples videos where they made it so I had a go on it. And I really needed that thing, I don't know if I would have made it when I didn't need it. :D
I needed the bender ASAP, actually I needed the window sills ASAP. thus I made the bender myself. ;) I've used it many-many times now and my friends have borrowed it too. So it has earned the stripes in my household.
The oil ports in your hinges blew me away when I saw what they were for, I could not figure out what use the counter sunk hole would do till put to use. Great video.
Hi, nice job, i like your idea of how the top part is bolted down. How has it stood up to being used? Has it been strong enough? Would you change anything?
thank you for your work . great project. if would you build this again is there anything that you would do differently ? i mean is there any weak point in this design? i m trying to design something similar and i need ideas :)
+BisdremisKostas For the one-time use it's pretty good, but when working with it all the time I would install foot clamp system so I could hold the sheet in place with one of my feet. Right now I'm using just two nuts and a center "jack" right now to hold the sheet in place while bending. But I'm not using it that often so it works fine for me.
What would you say is the maximum thickness this would bend? I do a lot of body work and this would be excellent for making 16-18 gauge patch panels if it can handle 16 gauge, which most inexpensive ones don't.
Does anyone think this break could be made out of heavy aluminum C channel? I’m going to bend 25 gauge aluminum flashing and that’s it. Would love some in put. Thanks!
Yes you could but you would have to stiffen it up pretty good and reinforce the bending faces with metal or a composite material also make sure the sheet is not too cold and the forming radius is not too tight
No worries! I feel the awe of the spinning chuck and know the consequences of hooked sleeve. I usually roll'em up, at least on the hand that's closer to the chuck and don't fiddle around there for no reason. I use the shop usually when it's cold outside, the cold eventually cools down the whole building and I need to wear long sleeves so I don't get hypothermia.
It's a CO2 bottle used as a shielding gas when welding, it is directed to the weld while welding. And there are CO2 fire extinguishers. I don't see any safety hazards. Thanks for watching!

I love watching amateur diyers! Reminds me of all the things my metalwork teacher drummed into us what not to do!
The whole building looks good.
Nice and portable. That is exactly what I need to make. There is nothing better than to make your own tools. My powerimig is coming in really handy.

Beautiful job 👏 👌

great man that's why you Donn diy demonstrate every step this project
Sehr schön gemacht....
Добрый день. Ножницы понравились Ваши. Можно поподробней рассмотреть их? Похоже с рисоры
nice video...amazing work. That is very useful guide. We will expect you to create more video.
Nice sharp corners.
Exelente!!!! Saludos desde Cordoba Argentina!!!
Just a fantastic project and a great product to your windows. Thank you for sharing your amazing video. God bless you and your family
I had to build the bender since no company replied to my price inquiry on window sills. :D
Donn DIY thank you for your answer
Looks great! Does the job well & you can stand it up in a corner out of the way when not in use.
brilliant use of the wood best seen on you tube so far. tony
Had to think of something to get that bend. ;)
that was like watching an artist at work awesome
Thanks! I didn't think of it like that up until you mentioned it. Thanks for the different perspective! ;)
This is good, like the way you measuring and cutting hinge gap!
Cheers!
Buddy you are the man i like your style !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 500% recommended
Il miglior progetto su UA-cam. Perfetto!
Ciao
:)
fantastic craft ,, a pleasure to watch..well done,
Cheers! Thanks for watching. ;)
Hola muy bueno te felicito saludos desde Argentina
Very nice. I think I will be making one like yours.
Exelente amigo, muy buen trabajo, justo lo que tengo que hacer, saludos desde Argentina
Excellent! Worked great! I liked the metal snip that you placed in the vice also.
Thanx for sharin'!
+quaddingsous I attached the snip due to my limited space in the shop - I can put it away into the corner if not needed (no legs). Thanks for watching, I mean it. ;)
There you go thinkin outside the box again :) Very nice!

Very nice ideas
Thank you!
Buen video tienes uno como isiste la cortadora
Very cool. Just what i need. Thank you!
Thanks for watching!
I didn't know Mark Wahlberg did tutorials on UA-cam. Nice work!
i made one to bend 3mm aluminium up to 1.2mts, but i need to adjust it a little.
good work, i might copy your bracing!!
+Mr. green Feel free to copy it! ;) Thanks for watching!
Very cool and nice video - thanks for sharing!
+Rick Rabjohn Cheers and thank you for watching!
Приятно смотреть на твои труды! А особенно радует, что нет тупой музыки и ебучей рекламы! Благодарю, точно что-нибудь повторю из твоих самоделок!
just discovered your channel a couple of days ago, really enjoying your videos and ideas.
Thanks man. ;)
Hi Donn. Just found your channel. You make some great interesting useful pieces of machinery. Watching more from now on.
Судя по печке, спецовке(комбез) и балаклаве плюс бывает в мастерской только ЛЕТОМ)))
ДРОЖАТЬ УМЕЕШЬ? тогда ни хрена не замёрзнешь
Great work. I hope my attempt comes close to yours. It will be my first project with my new everlast mig welder.
You did a great job on this. I want to make a brake too. You can accomplish a lot with a grinder, an everlast and some metal.
Absolutely, angle grinder is the best!
you make great stuff. you should talk more. I love to watch your videos, very well made!!
Thanks. I don't speak English that good but will try and speak more in the future videos. ;)
Great. looking forward to more videos.
Great job!
+Milan Dupal Thank you. And thanks for watching! ;)
great job that worked really well
+domenic e It surprisingly did. I was doubting but saw other peoples videos where they made it so I had a go on it. And I really needed that thing, I don't know if I would have made it when I didn't need it. :D
yea sheet metal benders are really handy when you need them
Very ,very Nice
Great video as always!!
+Bob Stubs Cheers! Thanks for taking the time to watch it!
Ferramenta simples e prática de se fabricar, gostei um abraço.
..
Nice and thnx from Suriname, simple and easy
hmm, good job. I think if you tilted the support/press mast back at say a 45° you could put a break in past 99°. Just a thought. good job though.
Yup. I'm sure I'll have to make that change the next time I use this bender/brake.
Better to make your own if you can. I hope to make one but on a much smaller scale with my everlast in a few weeks.
I needed the bender ASAP, actually I needed the window sills ASAP. thus I made the bender myself. ;) I've used it many-many times now and my friends have borrowed it too. So it has earned the stripes in my household.
Genial, gracias por compartir.
nice!!! can i get the blue prints and where?
The oil ports in your hinges blew me away when I saw what they were for, I could not figure out what use the counter sunk hole would do till put to use. Great video.
+gorp27 Thanks. :)
Very Impressive
Thanks. Hello from Colorado, USA :)
Hi from Estonia!
1:34 glad to see you're wearing safety glasses ... check out the hairnet
Great job, well done
Thanks! I'm glad you like it. :)
Gordon Agent 9
Nice work and very neat final result. Seems you can specialize on sheet metal bending also :)
+Reijo-Tero Roopalu Thank you! That's always an option. ;)
I like your brake. Any time I can weld with my powerimig is a good day for me. I need to make myself one of these.
Ok. Felicidades
Me gustaría tener información de la máquina para cortar láminas.
Gracias
Thank you from Canada for making this, really like your hinge details, making one very similar right now and you helped me figure out a good design.
No worries, you're welcome!
Greetings from Guaratinguetá Brasil, very good estonian boy.
Greetings from Estonia.
very nice
+William Ellison Thanks!
simple and effective !
It did the job surprisingly well.
I need to make my own brake. I want to do a lot of welding projects with my everlast welder that will require a brake.
¡¡ GREAT JOB !!! ( CAN BEND TO 180° ) BUILD MY GM EL CAMINO BED TRUCK??? THANKS RALPH.
Well Donn nice work 👍🇦🇺
Can I borrow it. I need an 8 foot one?
Hi bro! This metal bender can bend stanless steel 2mm?
thank you for the video. anyway, what type is your torch? is plasma cutter can do join work?
Hi, nice job, i like your idea of how the top part is bolted down. How has it stood up to being used? Has it been strong enough? Would you change anything?
No answer

Чувак ты просто Олигарх😊
Good

So 16 gauge is 1.59 mm. It might bend it but not the full width I guess. Would be better if it was made from thicker material.
Brilliant well done you I’ve got to make one of these cheers Larrysullivan in London x
Скоро и я себе его сделаю!)))
Great video, very skillful. Two words of advice: goggles and gloves at ALL times. Nothing is worth losing your eyes.
excelente muchas felicidades,,
nice
Cheers!
beatiful
:)
Thanks!
interesting.
What gauge sheet u used?
Any ideas for bending 14 or 16 guage sheet?
Muito Boa parabéns
It's like Jack The Ripper's place but good job!
This place will get a facelift and it'll be easier on eyes in videos in the future. ;)
nice, now if you just had one more arm it would be easier to handle that sheet metal
+Kevin smith I was in trouble there for a second. :D But all worked out well.
I did not see any information on this project in the blueprints - would like to make one for forming cages and box traps.
I don't have blueprints for this project unfortunately, I just built it as a I went on with this project.
Thank you very much - trying to figure out what I need for a stable 4 foot bender for 16 gauge 1/2 a 1 inch cage wire.

Pretty cool. Too bad the window sill was an inch too wide 😂😂
did you make that shear also? if you did it would it would be cool to see how you made it
Didn't fabricate it, I got it from my father. I would also like to see how it was made. :)
Could you post some pics of the shear? Great job on the brake!
Or just some photos of the moving blade with the bracing and some idea of the curve.

@@leehotspur9679 thanks!
I need a good sheet metal brake. I will make one with my everlast welder soon.

Sorry for the Worry. I still like your videos, I won't comment on your shop clothes any more. Peace.

THANKS , GREETINGS FROM LIMA PERU FRIEND
Greetings from Estonia. ;)
ok. parabéns muito bom.
Note to author, people don't have friggin machine shops.
Well done that’s a good bending machine love it larrysullivan in London
Lathe model?
1K62.
I think it can't band 16 guage sheet
Wisz, my friend, a great job, can you give the dimensions of these materials for the construction of this bent machine.
Если такие рукава замотает в патрон токарного станка... Даже представить страшно.
погодь. эт ж верхнесадоаое?
Long sleeved overalls, almost down to your knuckles. I was distracted by your indifference to basic Safe Lathe Procedures. Good video though.
When it comes to role models I'm not one of them. Can't put myself in a box created by man. When I'm dead, others can.
