Seth really should have the 11:30 time slot. His show is so much better than Fallon's in every way.

    • @avedic
      @avedic Місяць тому +7

No kidding. Same goes for the whole Conan/Leno debacle.
But here's the thing.....people like Fallon and Leno will _always_ do better, ratings wise, than people like Conan and Seth. Because they know how to pander....to the lowest common denominator. Most Americans prefer people like Fallon and Leno because most Americans are.....mildly dim. Not even trying to be mean or anything. That's just the reality of the situation.
But I think Seth is doing brilliantly where he is now. Besides, who even watches TV anymore?? I haven't had cable for over a decade. Literally none of my friends do either. We ALL watch Seth and similar shows....online. Time slots mean nothing anymore. And I think that's just fine.

I saw this movie yesterday and she is not kidding. I felt like I walked out of a Warzone. Every bullet passes by you and it is incredibly loud and realistic and completely captivates you. I absolutely love the movie. I think it’s a very important message for people to see how ugly war is and what would happen if people got this Civil War that 5% of America is talking about.

imo he got that torch some time in 2020. Ever since then....he's the only one that matters tbh. ALL my friends love Seth. We never talk about the other late night shows. I love how far this show has come. I remember when it first started, when Seth took over this show. It was.....fine. Passable. It got the job done.
But now? It's gonna go down in history as one of the greatest late night shows ever....along with Conan O'Brien and Craig Ferguson.

I think the director, Alex Garland, made it to be an informative type film. Let's be real. Most younger Americans and even ones my age in their 60s forgot or don't remember war being in their back yard.
The twin towers is the closest, but the world wasn't in a war.
Pearl harbor is the one I remember. Practice drills going to bomb shelters or hiding under a desk as bomb sirens went off.
I have acquaintance that want civil war and the people who want out of Nato don't remember why we Americans want Nato.
This movie I think will only make it more believable that it can happen, but it won't warn people for it not to happen.
Look at global warming, or AI movies. It hasn't stopped things from moving forward.
We're humans and humans in the long run, don't learn from it's mistakes, as a race.
Individuals learn, but greed wins out and humanity as a whole seems to always plunge into its own sh*t head first.

I am not loving Civil War movie, trailers were clickbait, movie is a mess, we never saw why it started, never saw way rebels were the good guys, there was no war but for the last 15 minutes. There were few good things in it but overall movie is a fail.

Sorry but you totally missed the point. This movie wasn't about big fights and explosions.

While I agree that US democracy is fragile and a second civil war is not impossible, the factions in this film make no sense. California and Texas on the same side? Washington state and big Sky country forming a leftist faction? I don’t think the writers of this movie know much about US politics. If you want a really good Second US Civil War that isn’t something like “Somehow the Confederacy Returned” I highly recommend the Hearts of Iron 4 mod Kaiserreich.

I think it was intentional to have California and Texas team up, specifically so the movie would avoid real-world political specifics

@@seventhsteel1415 Why would you make a civil war movie set in modern America without real world politics? That’s what baffles me about this whole project. Without real world politics in such a setting all you really have are two or more faceless factions fighting each other. I just think it’s a missed opportunity is all.

As a huge movie buff who has seen everything from 1915's Alice in Wonderland to Godzilla Minus One I can't say I'm too interested in a modern day civil war film. Forgive me if it doesn't seem remotely entertaining at the moment, and comes off more as a needlessly sick, opportunistic cash grab...just like all those 9/11 movies that came out two years after that tragedy. It's repugnant.

Godzilla Minus One was absolutely awesome. Wished they had more city flattening scenes.

Not a great movie. Several disturbing scenes. But not realistic. This cou 2:17 ntry would be invaded and/or nuked long before the fictional point where this movie ended.

Just saw it on IMAX. PIECE of crap. Boring as hell, and the sound was a total assault on your eardrums. I literally had my fingers in my ears on and off for at least 20 minutes. Plot, what little there is, is all about “photo journalists” we care nothing about. Thought about walking out of the theater multiple times. Looked at my watch about 3 times, wishing it was over.

This movie is a joke. No, there is no realism to it. No, the movie doesn't even touch any reality of the current political landscape in America. It's just a trite story about the challenges of being a photojournalist.
