Thank you for pointing out the fact that lightning can strike well outside of a storm. When I was in high school (in the 80's), my friend's brother was struck by lightning while water-skiing and killed. The storm was 8 or so miles away, and they knew it was coming so they were wrapping things up and making their way back to land, but unfortunately they weren't fast enough. He was only 15 or 16. Obviously it was very traumatic and sad. But so many people still don't realize that you don't have to actually be IN the storm to get struck. Thanks for your updates.
