Should I not use mulch? But straw instead? Also they are now getting spots all over the leaves? These plants were a gift and I want to keep them healthy . What should I do.

Can Aucuba be pruned to a tree form specimen in the shady landscape. My idea is to landscape my driveway with 3 moramottas (females) shrubs on one side of driveway and a treeform Golden King on the other side, hoping for berries.

You're holding it barehanded, so I assume is safe to walk through them with no protective clothing?
My second question, when it blooms, does it give off a smell?

+warrengonline no problem playing in Aucuba. No fragrance at all. Not a great flower really.
