I ve never seen any music directors at present using original acoustic instruments for recording.. Esp the Double-bass.. But I hear a lot of that here.. Probably bcoz most of his songs have pure Jazz & Blues touch in them.. Santhosh, youre the future of tamil cinema music!!

RAVI SHANKAR Yes sir, Just UA-cam for VIdya sagar melody hits. :-) In melody, I would rate him a little better than ARR. But Vidyasagar is not as versatile as ARR.
My guess is that he suddenly lost market because the trend was kuthu songs and peppy western numbers and Vidyasagar was not a pure masala music director who would do anything for money.
In think you are a not a Tamilian? In case u want some recommendations just let me know, will be happy to share some of his best numbers.
