So cute! So glad you started your youtube channel! I came across your ASL videos on tiktok and (wanting to learn myself) made sure to follow. I can already tell you two are such wonderful parents!
Who else think Brittany is like.... the prettiest person in the world like.... Also your son is gorgeous and so smart!! and you guys are all so amazing. Love you 😍
It’s so cool that y’all are vlogging this process. I wish I’d done the same with my Vada. She was also born with severe-profound hearing loss and had the surgery in 2017. She began regressing 8 months post activation but she’s 5 now and we’re currently revisiting the topic. Asl is our backbone and it’s our main form of communication but I still wish she’d give it another chance. 😞 I’m hoping this reintroduction is successful. 🤞🏻
make adjustments to him until he hears well(that's very important) and take a great deal of care, take him to a normal school (sorry for mistakes, i'm not win english)
@@madreep in my country children who go to special school do not speak at all, they only know sign language .. I don't know how to write to read .. that teachers remove implants (put them somewhere. then give them when children go home)
I'm a girl with an implant, I went to a normal school, now I'm at one of the best schools in my city, yes my parents beat me in my head to learn .... although I started hearing at 4 and I was given to school in the 1st grade at 7 years old ... now I speak extremely well, I corrected myself .... and now I have to learn foreign languages😅 .. because I didn't learn much (because my parents wanted me to know very good native language) .. idk as it is elsewhere ... I have friends with implants who went to the special school ... I don't even understand them ... (I understand but super hard .. they also have a weirder voice. .and I speak very badly) a boy who did kindergarten and a little school at the special school did not know how to speak at all at the age of 8 ... his parents moved him to normal school he helped him, now he is fine
one of the mistakes made by my parents (that's what they told me) was that at first they had to make adjustments until I heard well ... not that I don't know how much hz I can hear everything (actually I heard very little) but ... I heard as children who are beginning to learn sign language as their first language will no longer learn to speak ... or something like that ... idk
Just come across your Channel we’re in Washington too and we have a deaf baby I don’t know anyone who is deaf and it’s been hard I wish I could pick your brain about how to parent learn and do as a parent of a deaf baby
I found this deaf girl from Facebook, and we were friends for awhile, and I didn't notice her videos in ASL, but I did notice her written posts. I read more than I watch videos on Facebook. So, one day, I read a post from her, and she's in her 40s like me, and I just wondered why her grammar and spelling and grammar are so HORRENDOUS! So, on a couple of her posts, I was giving her shit about her spelling and grammar! Then, I watched one of her videos, and connected the dots that she was deaf. So, I wrote to her and APOLOGIZED PROFUSELY about giving her shit, and she just laughed it off, and said it was ok, because she kinda needs that, in order to do better at writing... I feel like deaf babies with such great, supportive, and loving parents would probably be great at spelling and even ahead of hearing kids because of their experience with ASL! But, maybe if you only use ASL, their ability to read and write in English is a little bit hindered, as they grow up and depend on ASL more. Do you worry about Grammar? Do you think leaning completely on ASL will eventually be a hindrance to his learning of the English language? I'm one of those weird Grammar Nazis, and misspelled words and misused grammar tend to irritate me. I just wonder if that's something that you think about when teaching Paxton... 🤷🤔
You two are such incredible parents

He's not abnormal and schools for the deaf and hard of hearing aren't either.
