I think it's still here! The likes of Brian Kearney (Te Amo, Wake up call), Craig Connelly (Spires) and many others are still producing gems. And I'm barely scratching the surface of new productions :)

the melody is still sublime! What hit Kaste was in 2005
All trance from this era is timeless. The Anjuna stuff now just sounds like a poppier version of these classics.
Feel the same, that's one of the reasons I mostly left the trance scene around 2010...
2002 - 2007 golden era of uplifting/pure/melodic trance.

This is the most powerful Anjunabeats release of all time.
The original and the Smith & Pledger Remix are both invincible.
Anjuna has not been able to top this and they never will.
It is quite a tune, but super8 - alba is more powerfull IMHO. Kaste is melodic, euphoric and uplifting, but more power, positive vibe and energy has super8 - alba for me and it was released before! Or even Aalto - Rush (Super8 Remix) such a gem but underrated. Pure trance, Kaste is kinda new, more uplifting trance rather than melodic and pure trance sound like Rank 1/Thrillseekers/ S&P and others used to make back then.

This track, I cannot stop playing it. Trance isn't what it used to be :( At least there's a massive depth of old goodies from TATW to go through. This is from the golden age of trance, hopefully we come back around to this quality of sound one day again!

Listened to this track on an old set I downloaded off of Di.fm back in I wanna say 2004? 2005? I remember listening to this set as I left america for the first time, bound for Misawa AB Japan. So surreal and amazing hitting that 6 minute mark as you peek out the window...
It reminds me of something like "Need for speed" or one of those racing games. Awesome track!

You have labels like FSOE trying to release this type of trance but its really generic and nothing like it was back then.
I hear ya man, but sadly, this track still represents the beginning of the cut-n-paste uplifting trance era.
Nah don't hate on FSOE, their Egyptian sound is nothing like this
this is one of the best compositions of all time. hard to compare it to anything.
