How will The Pittsburgh Penguins attempt at moving forward and making their team more competitive in 2024-25? How can they bounce back and move back into a playoffs spot after not making the 2024 NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs. Let me know your expectations for the Penguins this off-season
Probably finishing at the bottom with the Sens. Second last
Mulkin and Latang leave. I feel like Crosby will go to Carolina next year.
You have been listening to the bad reporters in Pittsburgh. Jarry is going nowhere. Karlsson is going nowhere. Letang is fine per Dubas after surgery. The Pens need a LD to play with Karlsson. They need a 2nd line center that can help Malkin with faceoffs and the defensive responsibilities of a center. Marner is not even being discussed. Graves is going nowhere. Wasting time talking about stuff that has less than 1% chance. In the end Pens will move Smith and Pettersson. Upgrade at LD and add scoring hopefully at center. They will play more of their prospects in the bottom 6. They will try to create 3 scoring lines and fix the PP.
Graves will be gone

Petterson isn't going anywhere best dfd we have and he fit with Karlsson. We need someone to play with Letang graves didn't work n I'm not a fan of p.o playing top 4 mins. Petterson will not be moved might walk the following season as a ufa he is still signed for the upcoming season. If we can't agree on a contract but just don't see it
All spot on but idk how they could move away from Petterson. Agree that they trade Smith and I hope they get a 2C and another defenseman.

Great Video, as usual, Mike. I think, that, at the very least, it's going to be trying to win with The Core Four, especially with the retirement of Jeff Carter. Let me know what you think, but, I don't see a Rebuild yet.

It was worth for you guys with your cup. Ottawa has no cups and still not really a future to look forward to. Also, it will be a long time if Ottawa is goikg to fix there team.
At the very least, Kyle Dubas, I have to say, did take A Step In The Right Direction, with the trade of Jake Guentzal to The Carolina Hurricanes, since he realized they can't afford him & Bunting was A Decent Return.

Things just didn't come together for the Penguins with GM Dubas at the helm--that PP was absolutely dreadful at 30th in the NHL--this is a team in flux but they may pull it together this coming season--will they make the playoffs? I think not.
If they are to trade Sid I think it is to Carolina
Sid isn't going anywhere.
Trading for Karlsson was a huge gaffe. Both Rakell and Smith had lawsy seasons, and are getting older. Team appears slow, plodding, and disengaged. PP numbers are shocking, given the talent they can put out there. The Jarry contract was another gaffe. The boy genius Kyle Dubas not doing so well so far. No grade A prospects coming down the pike, will be another long season for the Pens. They might even slide down further in the standings next season.
From Toronto but a Penguins fan since they drafted Sid Crosby. Broke my heart that the Pens picked up Toronto garbage Klye Dubas.

Honestly they need to move on from Malkin and Letang. They have reached their expirery date.

No the D and Goaltending is basically garbage, Pittsburgh isn't going anywhere. Plus they've the worst prospect pool in the NHL. And that doesn't help.
Holy Hell, are the Penguins GARBAGE!
They stayed with the same gang too long. There's an old sports axiom, "Better a year too early than a year too late'". At best they're a one and done wild card team. Should not have traded for or signed all of that aging core. Build a team around the vets but strengthen the surrounding cast, even if you have to jettison an older player or two for a younger piece.
I would suggest a trade with My Rangers for Jacob Trouba, if they could take Salary Cap Hit & if they had something I could see The Rangers want. PS. Tristen Jarry was doing A Bit Better before his injury, but, they're definitely locked into him, as one of the comments pointed out.
Karlsson isn't being traded
If anyone expected karlsson to get 100+ this year was smoking something. He got that in SJ because the team was terrible. I think aside from the PP stats he played decently.

It still comes down to Jarry. He either puts up a shutout or lets in 4 goals in the first 10 minutes of the game. Unfortunately the latter happens way more often. Yes the PP sucked. Yes some of the defense was suspect, but middle of the league. You won't do very well if you continually play from behind. Jarry has had plenty of years to step up, thinking it's time to look elsewhere.
Trade Graves and Rielly ! Pens need to toughen up they are a joke on defense , nobody clears the front of their net and throwing a crushing body check in their end zone is unheard of !
Add Rakell to the trade list

Something I hate is hearing is reports saying Pittsburghs underperforming because the core is older now. The core is still performing great despite their age the teams problems is the players around them. Malkin had two wingers who are supposed to be 25-30 goal scorers and neither of them even came close which is why genos year wasn’t his standard.
I would move malkin to wing and find a 2nd line center even federov moved to wing later in his career
