Every time I hear this I get emotional, teared up, or end up crying. This song conveys Karkat's deepest feelings, all of this thoughts. It shows how much he felt guilty for everyone's death, how much he misses everyone, bearing the burden of their lives onto his shoulders. It shows how strong he is, it shows how no matter what he won't let their deaths be for nothing. And that he will remember everyone, even in his last breaths. And that he was the best leader they could have wished for.

Can I just say that I wish Karkat was more relevant in the story later on? He seemed cool when we met him, and he was the first we actually saw, but then he never had any real development as a character. I say this about a comic where nearly single character, including the author, has died, but his highest achievements were keeping the trolls from killing each other(offscreen), calming everyone down after Gamzee went crazy, and beating that felt guy at the end. I just wish he had done more, but now it's a bit late for that now, huh. Off topic, but it's been a good few years now, and I'm sad that it had to end.

It never occurred to me until I listened to this song again what Karkat's title actually means. A Knight is the player who weaponizes their aspect to protect, and their aspect is also what their session lacks, and they must bring it to their session. The Blood aspect represents relationships, bonds, and unity. The A2 session was lacking in unity, which was probably why there was so much squabbling among the team. Knights also feel as if they are incompetent with their aspect, and strive to become better at it. As such, Karkat felt weak and incompetent about bringing unity to the team, and probably wanted to be leader so bad because he wanted to prove himself and become better as a Hero of Blood. ....I lost my train of thought on this because I was just kind of rambling, but. There we go. Feel free to add onto this if you want. Just my realization and typing it up real quick before I forgot, haha.
