Oh dear what the f- have we here This Marchesa all thorn no rose Egad what bad draft, better no pick Take a removal, do some bombs Oh shit what the hell have we done It’s a limited deck and it’s janky as fuck Better hide all your creatures and your hand But I’m playing control so you’re shit out of luck
I do enjoy Graham deciding his headcanon on melee while ignoring the reminder text that explicitly confirms it. I don't mean this in any kind of scornful or sarcastic sense; that was legitimately amusing and endearing.
I remember that Conspiracy: No Church in the Wild was released at a weird time in between a small gap between 2 standard sets and not much product got opened, but had some really powerful stuff in it like Leovold and Palace Jailer
"[Altar's Reap] is bad now. They printed Village Rites and now it's bad." -- they also printed Deadly Dispute, which is a strict upgrade in two *other* ways. ... anyone remember Skulltap?
I always loved it when you managed to draft 2 Noble Bannerets, naming Noble Banneret for the first one, so that you could just play it as a 4/4 lifelinker on its own, or a 5/5 lifelinker if you got the second one out.
While I thought Conspiracy: Not the Face didn't quite have the same feel as the previous set, I agree and do wish we got a Conspiracy 3. I think Conspiracy: Run the Jewels didn't do as well financially?
Why is Graham so polite in asking for more Conspiracy, and yet so rude to sables everywhere? What is his deep, dark sable-related secret? We demand, no, we ask politely to know!
Thanks for this. Non-Commander multiplayer magic, in all formats, is so underrated. I loved 4-player modern. Anyone remember when lifelink was additive? That was so broken. I assume that the proto-lifelink cards can't stack now either.
Man, yeah, literally pulled about the best rare you possibly could have. I remember thinking it would go well into my soldier EDH deck... 'till I saw the price tag. lol
I managed to get a playset for my 60-card soldier deck back when Conspiracy 2 was still in print, and, yeah, it's pretty great. My favorite part is that it can fetch Daru Warchief, because Daru Warchief is only a 1/1 when it's not in play.
That is surprising, as I would assume a mercury sable would just melt everywhere and be highly toxic to come in contact with. I assume that's why the folks of Theros started making them out of bronze instead.
That murder is actually somewhat special: That version of murder centers the text in the text box much like a 8ed foil time stop, which is something cards in general, don't do. I actually the same foil in my cube for a lot longer than I should have over better options because it was nice bling.
i got a Queen Marchesa and I built a Commander Deck around her so I can say "Long Live The Queen" and other Queen jokes every single time I play her or become the Monarch
Should still be pretty inexpensive to buy a singleton copy of each draft matters cards printed in those sets (including the conspiracies of course). We then just do a "conspiracy layer" shuffling the Singleton draft matters and using it to be a 16th card in drafts. Great for normal Draft pack cracking and cubes. If anyone is interested I'll link the scryfall searches, really just need to add "draft" to text searches.
This being the hot-button topic of the week, I would really enjoy some kind of Conspiracy style draft-matters format on Arena that uses digital card technology. Half of that Banneret’s text is dedicated just to making it so cheating can’t happen, which digital could easily fix.
Graham, you're pronunciation of guard just reminds me of whenever my students complain about Canadians and R sounds. We apparently sound a bit like pirates to a lot of my non-North American friends and pop-culturally aware students.
Ah, Recruiter of the Guard, patron saint of Legacy D&T. I think Aluren plays it too? I THINK the other thing you'd REALLY wanna open in Conspiracy 2 value-wise is probably either Expropriate, Burgeoning, or the Show & Tell reprint?
Hmm, conspiracy was how I found LRR. The original video about conspiracy they made for Wizards..... Who's this Kathleen De Vere person.... She seems rad.... Then I learned what I'd missed
I too would like a Conspiracy 3. I know they don’t do 3-set blocks any more, but I would like for them to complete the Conspiracy block. Or trilogy if it that helps the pitch.
I find it really interesting that a lot of cards in the 10$ to 50$ range only cost like 2/3 of the US price in Europe. For example Recruiter of the Guards only costs ~19€ (which are ruffly 21$) in Europe compared to the ~29$ (26€) mentioned here.
Might also have to do with the fact that at least half of all cards sold here are in a different language and since, for example, german cards are less valuable than English cards but Germans don't care if their cards text is written in English or German, the cards are overall a bit cheaper.
At time of writing this comment and according to scryfall, recruiter of the guard is the second most expensive card in CN2, right behind berzerk, so yeah that was just about the most value you could've possibly got from that pack.
I really enjoyed conspiracy: everything is fine. I loved the butt fight conspiracy. It was great to pair with the one that says pick mana value 1, 2, or 3 and you can use mana of any type. You just draft all the 2 drop 0/4 goading homoculi
I have a suggestion for Friday night paper fight. Four player, vintage ban list, no infinite combos, 60 card minimum. Fight to the death. It's what my play group does and it pretty darn fun! Just a thought. I know y'all's schedule for it is probably pretty packed.
Notable that Conspiracy: Take the Crown was the first time Monarch mechanic was introduced, bringing the best received multiplayer mechanic in ages.
Magic should take more multi-player mechanics from Vampire the eternal struggle. I wonder who made that game?
Man, I wish you had done more Conspiracy: Run the Jewels drafts. It's so fun with so many shenanigans.
👉🤛
me, attacking the monarch: kill your masters 👉🤛
NOBODY TAPS, NOBODY GETS BURNED
Oh dear what the f- have we here
This Marchesa all thorn no rose
Egad what bad draft, better no pick
Take a removal, do some bombs
Oh shit what the hell have we done
It’s a limited deck and it’s janky as fuck
Better hide all your creatures and your hand
But I’m playing control so you’re shit out of luck
3:24 We can just tell the Ember Beast. What's it gonna do, attack you? Not alone, it's not.
Careful. If the Ember Beasts ever organize you'll be trampled by vaguely underpriced 3/4s.
I do enjoy Graham deciding his headcanon on melee while ignoring the reminder text that explicitly confirms it. I don't mean this in any kind of scornful or sarcastic sense; that was legitimately amusing and endearing.
if there is one thing graham is, its certainly endearing.
I'm looking forward to LRR's collaboration with Wizards on Unspiracy: Pull the Other-One.
Underrated, brilliant idea.
I was heartbroken when Graham pronounced menace correctly.
“Everyone loves murder”
-Graham, 2021
for the "vote an additional time" thing, it can be interesting in formats that allow conspiracy cards bc you can always outnumber your opponent
Expropriate is definitely thing.
I had an old edh deck that was based around voting. It was fun!
It's relevant, though not necessarily powerful in Canlander.
@@XZentag Do you know if eliminated players still cast votes?
Graham is correct about Melee, "702.121b If a creature has multiple instances of melee, each triggers separately."
I didn't, but looking it up I remembered the art. Any art with Braids is extremely memorable to me.
I always loved it when you managed to draft 2 Noble Bannerets, naming Noble Banneret for the first one, so that you could just play it as a 4/4 lifelinker on its own, or a 5/5 lifelinker if you got the second one out.
That is in fact, the 2nd most expensive card in Conspiracy 2
Also, I'm surprised he pronounced Lieutenant the American way not Left-tenant
"Everyone likes Murder-- wait." beat "Yeah no, I'll stick with that." 😂
While I thought Conspiracy: Not the Face didn't quite have the same feel as the previous set, I agree and do wish we got a Conspiracy 3. I think Conspiracy: Run the Jewels didn't do as well financially?
Yes, it was released in a historically infamous slot between two other massive products. WotC so far refuses to acknowledge this as a factor.
I'll never understand why I'm so into watching others crack packs... but thanks for making it entertaining!
Why is Graham so polite in asking for more Conspiracy, and yet so rude to sables everywhere? What is his deep, dark sable-related secret? We demand, no, we ask politely to know!
Canadian politeness.
I can't imagine what is thoughts on sables from the Shetlands are...
This show, like all thing, edges towards the 'theater of the absurd' and I deeply desire this. Continue, editors and host... continue...
please
Thanks for this. Non-Commander multiplayer magic, in all formats, is so underrated.
I loved 4-player modern.
Anyone remember when lifelink was additive?
That was so broken. I assume that the proto-lifelink cards can't stack now either.
Some actually can ! Armadillo cloak is hilarious if you already have lifelink on a big creature
@@hadrien5684 :) Thanks.
i love how the wolf had reminder text proving graham was correct, but he just missed it lol
Lol this set has Berserk and Show and Tell in it. It gets exciting fast.
Definitely need more Conspiracy: Bring the Noise
Man, yeah, literally pulled about the best rare you possibly could have. I remember thinking it would go well into my soldier EDH deck... 'till I saw the price tag. lol
I managed to get a playset for my 60-card soldier deck back when Conspiracy 2 was still in print, and, yeah, it's pretty great. My favorite part is that it can fetch Daru Warchief, because Daru Warchief is only a 1/1 when it's not in play.
@@BenMarcWilliams A Scourge classic, that takes me back. Very good choice.
The most expensive card from either Conspiracy set is Berserk at $31, so it's pretty close.
27 bucks for an EDH card is nothing unless you're on a major budget. Have you priced some EDH staples nowadays? Some are honestly ridiculous
@@phtown And unless I remember wrong that was printed at mythic.
It's only a conspiracy if you get caught.
I get so much serotonin from this series please keep doing it 🥰
I love the centered text on that foil Murder
This make me want to see y'all do another Conspiracy: No Country for Old Men draft
I had a Mercury Sable once. Surprisingly durable.
That is surprising, as I would assume a mercury sable would just melt everywhere and be highly toxic to come in contact with. I assume that's why the folks of Theros started making them out of bronze instead.
I agree with your demand Graham, more conspiracy!! (Please)
702.121b If a creature has multiple instances of melee, each triggers separately
Well Graham, you could say that to the Ember Beast's face if it is the only one present. If it has a friend though, don't say anything.
"Deputized Protestor" hits a bit different in 2021 and that's all I'll say about that.
Always love the new pack feel of each episode.
Passive-Aggressive Editor's Notes on point today!
Graham, you make so many people happy. That definitely counts for a lot.
“Everyone likes murder.” Brilliant!
That murder is actually somewhat special: That version of murder centers the text in the text box much like a 8ed foil time stop, which is something cards in general, don't do.
I actually the same foil in my cube for a lot longer than I should have over better options because it was nice bling.
Man, I love this series
Voting also works in EDH. The Marchesa which is the box art for that set is actually a very popular choice around
recruiter of the guard holds some value. good catch
Yes please give us conspiracy 3!!
Correct!
"702.121b If a creature has multiple instances of melee, each triggers separately."
See also: The reminder text on the very card that prompted him to question it :p
We need nay DESERVE a third Conspiracy set. Get on that shit WotC.
Recruiter of the Guard is a hell of a card.
1:49 I mean, technically, you do make the flavor text now.
Graham "I don't make a lot"
Insert gif of "And that was a lie" here.
702.121b if a creature has multiple instances of melee they each trigger independently
I just started playing when Conspiracy: Two For Flinching was released. Now that I know how to draft i think I would love to play this set.
As a hardcore drafter, I can say this set was the most fun I ever had with a MtG multiplayer product
You are now taking the crown,
Don't let me into my town.
I think recruiter of the guard is the best rare you guys have pulled thus far.
Bronze Sable! Oh no way, that's my favorite Satyr!
Recruiter is a very important piece of Legacy Death and Taxes, typically a 4 of.
i got a Queen Marchesa and I built a Commander Deck around her so I can say "Long Live The Queen" and other Queen jokes every single time I play her or become the Monarch
Recruiter of the Guard! Spicy!
Should still be pretty inexpensive to buy a singleton copy of each draft matters cards printed in those sets (including the conspiracies of course). If anyone is interested I'll link the scryfall searches, really just need to add "draft" to text searches.
Something about Graham’s energy tells me this was either the first, or the last recording of the day.
Immagine drafting a noble banneret and finding another copy of itself to note the name
Add battlebond 2 to the list of sets to make too please.
I have never found the answer to the question of whether eliminated players still vote
I also enjoyed Conspiracy: Takes the Cake and hope they'll make another!
What about conspiracy: shake the cow?
@1:45 you do help make the cards...
Well, you did make *some* amount of flavor text which goes under the rules on cards, and that's not nothing.
This being the hot-button topic of the week, I would really enjoy some kind of Conspiracy style draft-matters format on Arena that uses digital card technology. Half of that Banneret’s text is dedicated just to making it so cheating can’t happen, which digital could easily fix.
recruiter of the guard is the second most expensive card in the set so yeah it was a nice pull.
Graham, you're pronunciation of guard just reminds me of whenever my students complain about Canadians and R sounds. We apparently sound a bit like pirates to a lot of my non-North American friends and pop-culturally aware students.
4:48 Who are you and what have you done with Graham!?
Ah, Recruiter of the Guard, patron saint of Legacy D&T. I think Aluren plays it too?
I THINK the other thing you'd REALLY wanna open in Conspiracy 2 value-wise is probably either Expropriate, Burgeoning, or the Show & Tell reprint?
It's a 2 card combo with Aluren since you can grab something that bounces it and tutor repeatedly
It has a ton of value in rares too. Phyrexian Arena, Regal Behemoth, Grenzo and so on.
8:11 Graham remembers he is Canadian.
Recruiter of Walking Ballista.
The only good cracking pack show
Menace? What is menace? I'm not aware of that mechanic. Is it anything like Menatche ?
We need more Sables in Magic!
Lightsable for Star Wars crossover set. Also, trilobites!
Anyone else disappointed with the Menace pronunciation? Kappa - Thank you, Graham!
"james has been sitting here"
Ok Mr Graham from LRR IF conspiracy 3 comes out would you draft 123 together young man WHAT SAY YOU TAKE THE THRONE
"I don't make the cards", he lied.
I just noticed the address for the first time. Canadian zip codes are wild.
Engagement for the engagement god!
Voting cards are valid in commander.
This was the most Boros pack I have ever seen.
Why do I feel that name of the one who gave them the Pack is actually said as "CON MY" instead of being one word
Altars reap in a pinch with a pest token ok.
I find it really interesting that a lot of cards in the 10$ to 50$ range only cost like 2/3 of the US price in Europe. For example Recruiter of the Guards only costs ~19€ (which are ruffly 21$) in Europe compared to the ~29$ (26€) mentioned here.
It means the MTG cross-Atlantic arbitrageurs are asleep at the switch.
Might also have to do with the fact that at least half of all cards sold here are in a different language and since, for example, german cards are less valuable than English cards but Germans don't care if their cards text is written in English or German, the cards are overall a bit cheaper.
Would you rather have Conspiracy 3 or Battlebond 2?
When is "Friday Nights" coming back?
But graham, you get to do flavor text and names on magic cards
At time of writing this comment and according to scryfall, recruiter of the guard is the second most expensive card in CN2, right behind berzerk, so yeah that was just about the most value you could've possibly got from that pack.
GRAHAM!! What happened to 'Meh-nah-che'?
Conspiracy 3 Please!
I am engaging with this content
i opened a recruiter during a mystery pack draft. unfortunatley during that draft that was the only good card i managed to pull
I really enjoyed conspiracy: everything is fine. I loved the butt fight conspiracy. It was great to pair with the one that says pick mana value 1, 2, or 3 and you can use mana of any type. You just draft all the 2 drop 0/4 goading homoculi

Ps the goal for deck building is not powerful broken decks, but powerful silly decks! Makes it much more fun.
"It ain't safe in this city, Watch the throne"- That's my bitch off off Watch the Throne by Kanye West & Jay-Z
Are you sure it's someone's name? Could CON be short for Conspiracy and ML2 short for... something else? Especially if a LRRfolk wrote that note.
ah the set that killed brago... Hot take brago gets revenge on kaya an gets her spark. Blink planeswalker
I don't think those adorable falcon hats work if you cut eye-holes in them. Still cute tho.
Recruiter is worth $25
