Tech Talk: Vitalic (Electronic Beats TV)
- Electronic Beats returns with another Tech Talk, this time we took a trip to Paris to visit the studio of Pascal Arbez aka Vitalic / Dima. Pascal initially began his career on French Techno label Choice under his Dima alias, releasing a series of original works as well as remixing the likes of Daft Punk, Björk, Royksopp and Paul Kalkbrenner, a striking sign of his ability to craft greatness in the studio.
He went on to then launch his alter-ego Vitalic and released numerous albums and EP’s for Different/[PIAS] Recordings as well as material for Jennifer Cardini’s Correspondant, his ‘Poney’ EP on DJ Hell’s Gigolo Records and of course his own Citizen Records imprint.
Vitalic also forms the duo KOMPROMAT with Rebeka Warrior (ex Sexy Sushi), is currently celebrating twenty years of his career and the release of his fifth album DISSIDÆNCE. We took a trip to find out what keeps this powerhouse producer stirring after decades in the game and discover all of the machines and technologies that were used to create his impressive and extensive back catalogue and his new album "Dissidaence".

Vitalic is treasure of electronic music, he is real pioneer, love his music a lot, so authentic and amazing, just always have goose bumps when listening him! Merci pour la musique magnifique! 💖😍
Viva la Vitalic. His cover of The Chase always gets my heart pumping.
Absolut Legend!!
I entered the world of electronic music 12 years ago because of you. I owe you a LOT and i'll be grateful forever
La Rock, Poney - that things was like a massive invite , huge push, significant sounds for me to electro in earlier 2000th.
Glad to see you now! Thank you, Vitalic!
Ahh Vitalic now is older. 5 mins ago I watched a video with him "Vitalic In The Studio WIth Future Music" - 10 yers ago... time runs so fast.. He's really a creat music creator!
"Hard normal daddy" might be a Squarepusher album but I find it describes Vitalic very well. Simple and exciting music. I'm never gonna grown outta Electroclash. Long live!
That was a great chat, I thoroughly enjoyed hearing his perspective on gear and workflow. It's like a blend of minimalist approaches with hints of gear lust. I dig it.
One of my favourite producers
La Rock 🙏🙏😎😎🎊🎊
My idol !! Best sounds, best arpeggio progressions, best edgy tones, best distortion, also musically done very controlled way -- best best best and let's not forget Phat sounds.
The sounds are so well balanced between chaos and poetic themes that provoke emotion - no words for it.
The synth god himself, thanks for the look behind the scenes!
"Hans is driving" brought back so many early '00 electroclash memories
We definitely need an electroclash comeback
Love Vitalic, very creative producer
This was my best time💪
oh my god, this last track!
Oh man Vitalic = great emotional memory's & flashback 's🔥❤️
Love his honesty. He has GAS just like the rest of us. 😁
pure love for him .... god since 1999 for me
I thought I was the only weirdo who doesn't open a synth straight away. I have to know that I've got either a weekend or a few evenings clear of other stuff before I take it out of the box. And if I'm busy and stressed out at work, I sometime buy a synth and put it away and out of sight. It's then something to look forward opening and exploring when the workload diminishes. It sort of acts as a motivator to get me through a tough month.
I have that too :)
This was so awesome to see. Wish it was longer.
So inspiring! I always learn something useful from Vitalic. And his tracks are dope af
Nice setup..Amazing producer !
That's crazy ❤🎉
Love this!
I love his work!
great video, saw Vitalic in Vienna :)
Was there live Vitalic in Haarlem-Netherlands Patronaat ❤💚💙 was AmaZing!
among a sea of producers .. Vitalic stands alone
I love vitalics music. I would be very interrested in who is mixing and mastering his tracks. It sounded like he doesnt really care about the technical side of his music. His tracks sound so out of this world and i would like to know who is responsible for this work of art.
absolutely great 🥳

Yesssssss......cult hero
Very nice!!!
I love this series so much. Vitalic is a nice guy too. Not too well versed in his music, will give it another spin. Here's too much more techtalks. We love you Telekom/Sense.
What a guy 🙇♂️
One-speaker Vitalic gig in a reykjavik basement 19 years ago is the best gig of my life. (The other speaker broke)
Ce Studio... Oo ❤️
Sincérité, humilité, partage. Vis ton lick ! ^^
Amazing person !
Thanks, very cool ITW. I cant see any TB 303 in the studio. so the lead on "Rave Against the System" is not a TB ? What a killer track!
Impressive set up.
Interesting stuff!
What a lovely bloke
Nice Stuff.👍
Vitalic - Second Lives (Bloody Beetroots Remix)...say nothing more.
great content
❤VITALIC
Repair Machine he was it's best 🔊
RM discomix is very cool too
Legend
Seems like a very nice person
I also love modular systems. I find it is easierto get musocal sounds out of modular. And i also think you need to have a great personal connection with your gear. I feel a very personal connection to even my turntables! Everything has a purpose. I also buy things brand new and do not unbox them straight away. For instamce. My eroca synthes delay I only just opened but I bougut it around 8 weeks ago.
You have Tantric GAS.
Me too. I bought a DFAM two years ago and just took it out of the box this week. Haven’t turned it on yet though 🕺
❤

It’s all fun and games until you realize that the best music from many electronic artists was made when they had just a few Rolands, a Nord and a sampler.
That actually true normally had a good engineer then as well

Prffff why does everything have to be in slow-motion? Djeeez get it over it people...The man is plugging a jack cable for godsakes. Great interview , forget the images.
Thats your takeaway from this video? Damn, find some joy in your life brother! Ill pray for you tonight!
Hydra it’s not an FM synth man!
Their website itself says "for making classic FM sounds. Choose multiple FM sources, including external inputs."
@@LordAlcol FM synths work with ‘operators’, ‘algorithms’, ‘carriers’ and ‘modulators’ hydra synth does simple FM but it’s not an FM synth
