GTI MK7 Bilstein B14 Coilover Intall

- Finally got around to installing some new Bilstein B14 coilovers for my GTI MK7. Set the ride height at about 1 inch lower than stock and won't lower it more until I break it in. So happy with the results and ride comfortability so far. No rubbing issues at all, until we go lower lol.

Lol I filmed an update because I lowered it. Then that was too low so I filmed another update to raise it a bit more. I’ll make one soon with the adjustments I made and why lol

Love mine! There is quite a bit more road feel, but it’s not sharp or harsh. (Then again, I am not running low profile tires). The cornering on my car is close to being flat. No longer do I have that bouncy or floating feeling like I did with the stock setup. Braking has also improved. I think once I add in a rear sway bar, the suspension will be the way I want it. 😊
I see! Did you go pretty low on your ride height? What’s the gap size between your tires and fender? I’ve been hitting a lot on the freeway down the 605. Random dips make it rub. I’m also looking into adding a rear sway bar but not sure which size to run since I see ppl prefer different sizes.

Did you go with B14 too? I was actually nervous about it being to stiff or an uncomfortable ride like some reviews I read but they’re smooth 👌🏽
@@jaguardeoaxaca i went with b16. I’m going to crank it over to damper level 10 to see how stiff it’ll really feel

@@jaguardeoaxaca they’re great. You can really feel the difference between the different dampening levels.
Nice vid 😉. I installed B14 on my 2015 Focus ST and they are to stiff for me (for my back...) I lowered the car at the max and they are smoother but now my splitter scrubs everywhere. B16 would have been a better option.
I feel you man. I lowered mine even more and now I’m scrubbing just getting out my driveway 🥴 but yea have the option to dampen the coils would’ve been sweet with B16’s

Rate the B14's. Didnt know if mine would ride nice for a daily but they are spot on!
So far they’ve been great. I lowered it more and my wheels hit on bumpy roads but the ride quality is top notch. Idk how I’d rate them though lol. If I had money I would’ve gone for the b16
Whats the ride quality like vs stock? I know it'll be more firm etc. and did you guys end up lowering it more ? (heard it would change the ride especially if you max it)
In my opinion it does ride a bit stiffer but it’s not bad at all. Close to stock quality but not quite. I have it at about an inch and half gap from the tire to fender. I’ll measure it and give you a better estimate
Hi bro do you have problems with the black plastic cover when adjusting your coilovers?
The strut top hat?
Or the black metal adjustment rings? If those then it’s not bad if you’re adjusting them for the first time. But if you’ve had them on for a while and didn’t add the anti seize compound then it’ll lock up on you.
What is the max ride height on these bilstein?
The specs say 15mm-35mm so it’s about 0.59 inches to 1.37 inches
