My mom was making her own in the 80's!!!! Vaseline and cinnamon!!! It never made sense to me! lol. As a kid I didn't understand! But that was her thing! She went to cosmetology school, so she knew about chili powder and cinnamon etc. and she would make her own long before lip plumper was ever a thing!
I use the W7 Hot Shot Pout Plumping Gloss (around $5 bucks on CVS website) which is super similar to the Too Faced Lip Injection. I only use it while I am putting on my makeup so it’s on for about 30 min then I take it off and put on lip liner/lipstick at the end of my makeup routine. It really gives my lips a nice plump for the day and I don’t see it as only lasting for 30 min. Thats just me though. Also it’s actually quite moisturizing! So I was surprised when you said these 3 products left your lips feeling super dry! I want to try the Milani one. That color in itself is so pretty!
LOL, I wear them everyday, like EVERYDAY, I have so many different ones and I rotate to avoid getting immune to any of them! I like the way it feels when it tingles and enjoy reapplication, I have been a gloss queen since I started wearing lip products🤣🤣🤣👍🏻👍🏻
I must be weird, I love, love, love the tingling/burning sensation that plumpers provide. It all started with the Sexy Mother Pucker glosses. Now I use Too Faced Lip Injection Extreme.
@@gabinatI agree, I love love lip plumpers too 😊. I’ve also never had the feeling of it in my throat and I use plumpers often. If you love plumpers, have you tried Polite Society lip plumper? Ooo it’s good! If you love lip injections, you’ll love Polite Society 😊 Try it!
thank you for the review! i was contemplating getting the Maybelline chili plumper for so long, but honestly, i don't think the irritation is worth it for temp effects!
Hi Miranda! I love all the curls in your hair. Beautiful! I agree with you about the plumping glosses. I would rather use a moisturizing balm that is nourishing my lips rather than something that is irritating them in exchange for just a few minutes of minimal plumping. Thank you for the reviews! I appreciate your thoroughness and honesty. Hope you have a fantastic day!
It's a little messy but I've rubbed cinnamon and/or various hot pepper spices on my lips and that works. Just like eating hot or spicy food, they tingle. 😊
Your review is perfect advice. Lip plumpers are not recommended to use full time because the little crisis created for the blood rush is not good for them. No matter what formula they use, our reactions are going to vary. I’ve seen some make up tricks that yield great results. I’ve never seen anyone try a combined make up trick and filling in with lip plumper to see if they get a boom result That would be an interesting video. These products aren’t a bad idea for a photo or first impression. Chapstick makes a nice lip hydration product that keeps lips healthy on the go. Maybe that’s all some may need is a product that keeps their lips super hydrated and healthy.
Thank you for your review but I'll be honest I hate lip plumpers. I hate the burning feeling and just the texture of them. Good to know that overexposure to them can trash your lips. BTW I love your look. The face and hair are awesome!!
I really enjoy that you are great at communicating facts in an easily understood way without filler perky distractions yet still highly likeable. Thank you for being so thorough in your research and observations. I trust you to help me make good decisions. New subscriber, sharing with friends and hit the 👍
Hehe I am actually one who does reapply plumpers all day long, and I wear them often. To me, the hotter the better. I agree you can build up a tolerance to them. Because I used to wear Too Faced Lip Injections every day but then the heat really dissipated. So I went on the hunt for something stronger, and bought Polite Society lip plumper and love it. That’s super strong! You have me curious about the Maybelinne plumpers. I’d consider myself an expert at lip plumpers by now 😆 so I think Polite Society is the strongest I’ve found. 😊 Thanks for this video! 😊
Added; a nourishing lip oil is a better alternative for aging lips, or dehydrated lips. A good lip oil will smooth out the lines and "plump" your lips to some degree, bringing the life back into them, without the pain. I'm afraid to try the new elf lip oils due go the fact that they allegedly smell and taste like mint. I called the company to ask if they contained menthol (skin allergy), but they couldn't even answer my question. They didn't even know.😑🤦🏻♀️
Are you seeing before/after results? Technically products like these actually *rely* on your lips being irritated in order to get the plumping/blood flow effect. If you're not feeling the sting I'm curious if you're seeing a difference in size.
Interesting. I wonder if you are having an allergic reaction to the Maybelline. I have used almost the full "tube" of the pink sting with no issues. I feel the sting but it isn't painful. And I don't tolerate spicy food. I'll be buying it in another color. 😊
No permanent results, this would be for temporary use either for the day (being reapplied) or just a few hours even. But I will say using daily can reallllly dry out the lips like I mentioned because you're essentially creating a reaction every use!
I tried Buxom lip gloss once and it seared so bad after two hours of pain that was not abating I thought who could function like this? I think it's better to accept your lips as they are and treat them with love instead of self injury.
i hate them. I prefer to overline my lips with a long wearing lip liner, use a matte lipstick, and then holographic lip gloss over them. This lasts for hours and makes my lips look so much fuller.
@@slashedbeauty yes, its a plump gloss but in reality, it' has'nt that much of a plump feeling...it feels light weight and it's very glossy, not streaky at all and it last for hours. When I put it on at 8 o'clock in the morning, at 4 o'clock in the afternoon (without eating/drinking) I still have a beautiful shine. No really, You should try it and see for yourself. ☺️
Lip plumpers are one product that I will never understand the hype. Honestly, I wish these makeup companies would try to come up with something Innovative and something new instead of oh a new lip plumper
It's all about how reactive you are, or finding the "plumping" ingredient that works on you. So many rely on chili so that may be something that just doesn't affect ya!

She went to cosmetology school, so she knew about chili powder and cinnamon etc. and she would make her own long before lip plumper was ever a thing!
She was ahead of the curve 😎

Very interesting, thanks for the recommendation!
Best review. No bs and full of info. Thank u!
Glad it was helpful!
I agree, it's a very temporary gimmic. Why bother?
I never see enough of a result to tolerate the spice. 🤷🏼♀️ Your hair looks so stinkin’ cute, Miranda! 😍
Exactly! Might as well overline. Maybe I'll do a tutorial on shorts. Thank you!!

I don't mind it until it gets in the back of my throat. Then it *actually* feels like an allergic reaction.
@@slashedbeauty I never had this issue, but I can imagine I wouldn’t like them as much if I felt them anywhere but my lips!

Have you tried City Lips?
I’m looking for something that really stings have you tried soap and glory

Everyone has different sensitivities to different ingredients which is why these will work differently on everyone!
So is it over time the lips would be plump ? Or just use daily ?

1st comment! I'm honoured.
Enjoyed the honest review ❤
Yay! Thank you for watching!
I have mauve out my way and I used lip liner

And if you REALLY want a pouty look-- lip liner!
the new ones from haus labs look interesting bc its plumping but not stingy apparently
ooh very interesting!

My lips are tingling just watching this! Lol.
thank you for your honest review 🙏
Awesome Thumbnail, cracked me up
😁
I prefer tooface lip injection. Worth the price
What about E.L.F's Lip Plumping Lip Gloss?
Haven't tried that one, have you?
I agree with you and do feel they feel gimmicky.
Thank you for your in depth review. Sorry about your lips lol
Lol a couple nights with a lip repair product on and they're almost back to normal!!
I lovvvvv the Sephora gloss in nr 7 or otherwise in nr 5!!!!!
it's a plumper too?

Thanks for doing all this work! I think I'll pass on these...
No way. I stay away from ALL lip plumpers!!!
am I the only one who doesnt see any difference before and after?
No you're not! My main point of this video is that at least on me, the effects are realllllllly slim (if any)
These bangs on you ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
i'm loving them!!! they do grow pretty quickly though lolol
your bangs! wow
I'm in my bang era 😍

If they came out with one that actually lasted even 8 hours without reapplying... THAT would be interesting to me, burning and all.

Haha thank you! Just trying to quicken up the intro and get to the video!

LOL yes honestly, especially the chili powder!
😂😂❤❤❤I eat a lot with Tabasco sauce and my lips is like a duck😂😂😂Kidding! Hugs Miranda ❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉🎉
Next time just try cinnamon oil 😊
Oh man, chili and mint? Very bad combo. That's why it was so painful. Dumb on Maybelline.
Lip plumpers are dumb lol
I don’t like plumping lip products at all
Yeah, they aren't worth it. They are too temporary.
