    Awesome video agian, James. I definitely agree that the the Blindfolded videos are oversaturated with people often doing it just for the views and the cheap content that it provides. I'm glad that you made this video, and managed to make it both funny and very educational as well!

      Thank you! I wanted to have fun but share this cautiously as I know this isn't my everyday experience, despite my blindness.

    This is definitely my favorite “blindfolded for a day” video. I like how you bring the perspective of a gamer and tech user. And goodness, those air tags seem like they’d be triply useful for someone who both is blind and has ADHD.
    I’ve tried using voiceover on my Mac, as I wanted to learn firsthand how accessible my website was. Problem: everything is less accessible with voiceover when you’re bad at using voiceover. 😅 It’s much more satisfying to watch someone as used to using the accessibility tools as I am to “normal” tech navigation.

      Thank you for the kind words!!! I'd recommend starting with iPad's VoiceOver. It still works with keyboard navigation like the Mac and gives you the full-desktop webpage while allowing you to use the touch gestures too.

      @@jamesrath Thanks for the tip! Alas, I have no iPad. Just my phone and my old Macbook.
      But now that you mention the touch gestures... hmm... maybe I should experiment on my phone. I think navigation was the most frustrating part on my Mac. I'd probably be less annoyed with the touch navigation than I was with the keyboard navigation.
      It would be a start, anyway. I'll eventually have to find out whether the keyboard navigation frustration is just from me being a newbie-or if something needs to be changed. :P

    I love this video it has helped me a lot with coming to terms with going blind. I was scared of going blind but seeing you do everything on your own has helped me a lot thank you so much.

    As a fellow visually impaired dude, i feel like blindfolding is a good way to build perspective and maybe a bit of gratitude for the reaming vision i have. Love the video

    I loved this video, I could connect on so many levels, it was funny, taught me some things as well, and new things I can do as a blind person. This video also boosted my confidence as a bl8nd person, so thank you James.
    Ps. Also, I love how accessible your captions are James. -from one of your deafblind subscribers. 👩🏻‍🦯🦻🏻

    Dunno if you’ll see this, but: Would the sleeping mask maybe help you sleep better, if worn only at night? I’m very sensitive to sounds/light/smells/etc due to being autistic.I wear a sleeping mask and soft earplugs at night. Helps a LOT. I can still hear the fire alarm, but certainly makes it easier to sleep.

    • @jamesrath
      @jamesrath  Рік тому +1

      A sleep mask can definitely help but I'm also active in my sleep. Half the time it falls off by morning. Half my dreams involve me running around in nature. 😅

    Hey James. You mentioned that you’re going to get a guide dog? Are you still going to get one? If so great if not still great it’s a curious question by the way, I love your channel always enjoy them especially this particular video.

    I have a question, if you could go back in time and choose to not be born with your disability, given what you know now, would you?

    • @jamesrath
      @jamesrath  Рік тому +1

      Nope. My disability and journey accepting it in my youth was a large influence in my empathy towards others and goals in life.
