I just got the Nether twice, sent the first one back, because it didn't hold the tone properly, but found out the second did the same. Not very happy with it. Anyone with similar experiences?
Nice comparison. I'm trying to decide between the Boss OC-2 and Foxrox Octron3, leaning towards the latter. Feel free to make a shootout between those two!; )
There is a 3-way shootout video coming up with the OC-2 and another octave pedal versus the Foxrox Octron...it’s not the v3 though it’s an older version...we did a video with it a few years back ua-cam.com/video/GAdUD7JKY6I/v-deo.html
I just want an octave down pedal that I can use with an assortment of fuzz pedals. So far the Pitchfork has sounded the best in videos, but maybe the OC-2? What do you guys think?
I would go for the nether, I don't like sub octaves on higher notes, it sounds like a blocked nose, I like the high notes to soar, on a song like Foxy lady the Nether would stretch the tonal range and give more spread and Impact, the boss would double up too much and muffle maybe?
I suspect there's phase cancellation going on at times with these. There might be some ms time delay between the dry and the sub signals causing this. That would explain why one might work better on higher notes and such. Since you demoed the whole time with the dry blended in, it's harder to say for sure though. Ideally you'd compare each knob to the other pedal one at a time, then find the setting that match them. Sub 2 @ Noon on Boss = Sub 2 @ 2 on TC, etc. Then start putting the parts together. But Boss seems to definitely win based on your approach.
Interesting.... listening to Alex play on Single pick ups at the start sounds really great on both pedals a lot better then expected. Once it got distorted, really high or really low just sounded god awful and not a sound you would want to use 🤷🏻♂️ which one would I buy think it would have to be the Boss just not the flexibility in the Nether.
Spend your 3 cents to learn how the nether „dry“ knob works.😅 You were turning it the wrong way and nobody of yours was able to recognize this 🤦🏻♂️ Your vids are mostly on point. 🫶🏻 Sorry, but this comparison is useless…

@@TSFAHTPS Sweet, looking forward to it!
And thanks for the link to your Foxrox Octron review:)

Yo tengo la misma duda
Wow, the OC-2 sounds MUCH better. I wasn't expecting that. I guess I'm not buying the Nether after all.

awesome quality video
Thank you very much Artur
Bottom line, the boss may perform better, but is it 3-4x better?
I always regret selling my OC-2....
So the octaves only go down? Not up?
Yep...with those two pedals they only go down, not up!

Boss is best.......
No way I’m buying TC after this video 😃
Oh guys..why dont you play like a bass player..I need to hear the low notes..
The Nether sounds surprisingly not good.
Yep the Boss definitely has more balls but to be fair the TC Nether does it’s job and is much cheaper. Thanks
"well come up with a better name" *looks at title* hmm
Haha...yeah...we didn’t come up with a better name
turns up "dry" and wonders why there's no effect... WTF?!
Boss !!
Cky
An "octave off" 😂 "Oct-off" was better though
You are right...I changed it back to Oct-Off
Run pre/post on an Eventide H9 and use their Octave lol Cheers guys. The Boss sounds great
Boss took away the killer Fuzz circuit. No thanks.
A
...really awesome demo...thanks guys 😜
The only reason for an octaver is to do cky riffs
Absolutely
