I like this style of demo video way more than the roulette of bass players playing to riff recorder.

Really Really Love this - Our guitarist has updated the rig about 8 times and this has stayed on EVERY version - Love the way it breaks up like a synth with chords! Great Demo! First time i've heard this on bass!

Thanks for the “honest” review!!! For a just a bit more $ you can get the valeton oc-10. It’s such a good clone of the Japanese oc-2. More 808 than a oc-3 and so cute! You should try it out.

I started off with a Behringer Ultrabass 180W kickback amp in 2005 and hate to say it but I loved it for what it was. Bearing in mind that around that time I had a Hartke 410 combo that failed 2 warranty repairs/poor quality parts before returning it, whilst the Ultrabass went from home to rehearsals, to college and to gigs. Carried around, lugged into the back of cars and vans, it really did the job. So I'd like to think they've only improved since then.
However I've not used anything Behringer since but the Behringer/TC Electronic pedals seem ace for $58/£30, considering they're aimed more so at guitarists and don't track 100%. They're still a good way to start up a pedal board on a budget or your first attempt at one.

Thanks for this review. Hopefully you could do something similar with an Vintage Bass Octave By MXR.

This was a review that actually showed me the sounds, gave an overall opinion that helped.
I want the octaver for 1 or 2 songs; the price is right for that.

You like the OC2? Check out the Arion octave pedal from the 80's-90's. Someone gave me one and it's amazing. I bought up a couple and absolutely love it.

It just reminds me of the behringer ULTRABASS that only does the 1 octave down instead of the 3.. you guys should get your hands on an ultrabass pedal (they are like 20 bucks??) and do a side by side.

Bought one a couple months back; it’s held up and been great; the enclosure is actually solid and feels good over time. The only issue I have is the footswitch; just seems like a corner that didn’t need to be cut; it’s $75 CAD where I’m at, and I would easily dish out another $5-10 if it meant getting a nice feeling switch like on a MXR pedal. Otherwise, it’s a mean and deep OC-2. Not identical, but close.

    • @jinjxmusic
      @jinjxmusic 2 роки тому +2

That's literally a major problem with pedals. They can make this stuff to a price point by cutting corners on a lot of things including cheaper pots/caps/resisters that, in some cases, litearlly cost less than pennies when they buy them in bulk. Fine... but DON'T CHEAP OUT ON THE ONLY PART THAT TAKES THE MOST USE. It's literally angering, especially when they solder/bolt said crappy switch to the board making it harder to fix/repair/maintain. They do this on purpose so you have to buy something new and the built in obsoletion is disgusting.

Here’s a little trick I learned. When all the Bossesque Behringer pedals hit about $25 each new, I started buying them. Many of them are prey good. A few failed with the common to that series parts. I took & cannibalized them & the ones remaining are golden. I suspect that the same will follow with these Behringerized TC Pedals.

There is a JHS Pedal video that proves that every single pedal on the market today actually has Behringer parts or components in it.

Sometimes octavers freak out if there's a dead spot on the neck, and the 5th fret on the G string is a prime place to have one. I wonder if that's what's going on here when you get that "jump" around 10:25 in the video.

so i'm told you need to pluck much closer to the next, so avoid harmonic content being sent to the pedal and it will track better.

  • @Eged282

I have to say that this pedal is built well. It doesn’t feel cheap to me. The enclosure is all metal and overall sturdy. This is supposedly the lower end series out of TCE pedals, but it is a head and shoulder above Behringer pedals(which can sound good btw but have a plastic chassis)..I’ve seen these guitar pedals at Guitar Center going on sale for dirt cheap on a clearance..insane if you don’t get one. Again, one can argue about their sound(which I think is great imho), but the built feels solid(I have to check back w u regarding this switch)..also music group owns Behringer, TC, and many other brands, but TC stuff is still designed by the team in Europe.

because in bass the octave 2 option is almos useless, you can use it to fill the low end but it´s not usable as a independent ocatve,it will mud all your sound

Hey,..not a bad demo vid but...that commented,...why do most of you demo these pedals especially Octaver types,..without any “beats” or drum machine of any kind???..🤔🎶🥁..this is where a Bass/Bassists dwell in their grooves (in a Band or otherwise) so we want to hear & feel it in that realm to judge how useful the pedal can be!! (..as in color or taste🎶✨👍🏾👎🏾)
When I go to buy/test,... I ALWAYS bring some form of beat supplier with me!!
You had a computer recording setup right behind you to use clean & powerful enough to cut a fine demo of just how that thing could compare....unfortunate you didn’t take advantage of the opportunity!
    ☝🏾🎶🥁🎸
Consider this guys,..next time huh?...you’re not especially promoting the product so,..much attention isn’t required for perfection but for use in the real world right!!!???...🤔😒
