Yu Yu Hakusho did the impossible: It made a Shonen Hero with a compelling female love interest. To the point where at the end of the series, Yusuke man's up and puts aside any more fighting to focus on her and what she needs from him. These two are great.
I watched Yu Yu Hakusho about 3 years ago and it immediately became my favorite and to this day it still is, with One Piece as a close second. The character interactions, especially in the dub, feel so realistic and organic and it was definitely one of the best anime dubs at the time. One of the only anime where most of the dub changes made it better imo.
When i hear this solemn piece l wonder what standing Yu Yu could have had if the last arc wasn’t rushed. Its still a great anime but wouldve been top 3 if that last arc was longer

From a passionate anime hater, can't ever disrespect OG Anime (If I had to timeline it, Astro Boy and Speed Racer kicked it off in the 60s, then it slowly died out to shitty shows gaining the spotlight, then it came to a true end once Full Metal Alchemist: Brotherhood was over. After that, only a few shows ever again struck that cord that 80s - early 00s anime had.). I would legit not be the person I am today if it weren't for Yu Yu Hakusho, which I also consider to not just be the GOAT anime but also one of the greatest shows of all time.
