Matt had a massive vocal problem. His vocal chords were all messed up or he was sick as hell, and he still manned up and did the performance. I think it adds another depth of pain to the song. I love it.

this is an amazing acoustic for a band that normally does Metalcore/Screamo songs... even if there is much better acoustic songs than what this band can do... give them props for making it this good

Matt's voice is most likely sounding worn out because he probably recently had his operation.
About a year afterwards, so it still must of took a toll on his voice still, with concerts after the operation and what not.
