Honestly, this book has some really great designs. I tried to draw with you guys when you did a video with Jess, JoCat, and Zee (I think?), and when you gave the descriptors, I wasn't even close to what everyone else came up with.

I can be patient. Thank you for letting us know, but I think a lot of people can accept that crap does happen. Especially this year

It's the same as with Cyberpunk 2077 for me: the creators just want things to go as best as they can, so there's little issue on the audience's part (unless they're super jerks, but those guys suck anyway, so...).

I absolutely feel the pain, I can never get players to stick for more than a few games
laughs in players not being able to play, but it slowly transitions into a full on sob
just going to say that searching online is a good start. I may take a while but you can slowly collect competent players that way. Currently my online games are half from reddit, one person from Unturned, and another from my irl friends discord.
Online isn't as bad as people say ;)

Your apology, in my opinion, is totally unwarranted. This was out of your hands and I'm willing to bet you did everything you could to help the shipments go out as smoothly as possible. Just off of this and your apology about the art request just shows your character and I absolutely love you man. You're a good guy who ran into some bad luck because of something out if your control. The "everything's done we're just waiting on shipping" and "I'm sorry for the delay, I had no idea it was this complicated" remind me of MCDM's Strongholds and Streaming kickstarter. I'm glad for the transparency on both counts and the delay is unsurprising given the current state of planet earth.
We get the difficulties, Covid kinda bit everyone in the tail. I'm still looking forward to the book when I get it (even more so now that I've gotten to see some of the critters!!)

Weird that the yetling or whatever literally just grafts arms onto themselves, and as such could eventually just become a large mass of arms.
I like that this lets you grow it with the player similar to some of the ranger beast companions.
Maybe set a limit. Have x number of spots which can support either a leg or arm and y number of spots to support like an eye ot antenna. Each arm could give another attack or each leg a speed increase/climb speed boost. If its all antennas and no eyes free blindsight maybe?
Thank you for the update on shipping. I understand that things aren't always going to go as you planned and I accept that I'll just have to wait a bit longer. I had waited this long to get the PDF so I can wait a bit more.
I also wanted to say that I 110% agree with the Pangol being number 1!! Pangolins have been my favorite animal since high school and the moment I heard that there would be a Pangolin Celestial in the book I got super hyped and it did not disappoint! Thank you!!

Thank you for being honest and keeping us up to date. I believe I speak for most us when I say that I’m sure it’s all worth the wait. The PDF has been wonderful and all of the companions are going to be amazing additions to my campaigns. I already have gotten to use one when I had my players discover an Equtaras egg. Upon hatching, their excitement and eagerness was quickly switched to confusion and shock after seeing the Tarrasque-looking infant creature that was inside. The paranoia and panic that ensued from the thought of possibly witnessing the birth of the most fear monster in the DND multiverse was absolutely priceless. This was also one of my players first campaign and later she and a veteran player told me that discovering the Equtaras was their favorite DND moment so far and it definitely is one of mine as well. This couldn’t have been possible without your guys creative and awesome project. Take you time and make sure you don’t over work yourself.

Honestly I'm kinda sad that I didn't fund the Kickstarter, this push back of time seems understandable and the ones I have funded have been put back a similar space in time, don't kick yourself man, it's happening all over.

You have no idea how much this admission of coming up short makes me respect you, thank you. I backed another indie publisher several times and they always delivered, until their most recent book which still has not been finished after nearly two years past schedule. I lost a lot of faith in indie projects after that, so thanks for restoring some of that. Just admitting when you mess up means alot.
I only backed the PDF tier, so I have my PDF book, and I just wanted to tell you Logan that the pangol really hit me different. Pangolins are my absolute favorite animal of all time, and my favorite classes and characters tend to be heroic paladin types who protect others at the expense of themselves. When I stumbled across a celestial pangolin that protects other creatures in your book, I felt like it was made exclusively for me. It was such a joy to read and I'm so excited to incorporate them into any fantasy setting I make because they're such brilliant, beautiful creatures with a great idea and stellar art to sell their concept. The whole book is great, and I love it, but that Pangol is an 11/10. Thank you, Logan.
The yetling is actually really close to a real insect called the mantis fly specifically the ones that mimic both mantises and wasps
Mantidflies (Mantispidae) only mimic wasps. The superficial similarities to mantises isn't mimicry, it's convergent evolution!
@@kristianwilliams441 that’s true, thanks for the correction. I was a bit too lazy in the description. Some species definitely mimic wasps though. The name for the specific species I’m referencing is Climaciella brunnea.

Dude, you're being way too hard on yourself. I mean for one, we all knew this was your first venture into this sort of thing and there was bound to be hiccups along the way. I mean delays like these are completely out of your control, knowledgeable or not. Just look at the Grim Hollow KS that ended pretty much at the same time. I supported you both and they aren't shipping out until next year, and they have done this all before. Chill out. It'll get to us when it gets to us. These are strange times. You're honesty and transparency is much appreciated.
To be honest, a kickstarter that fulfills on time is fairly rare, and that was the case before the pandemic. Nobody could have predicted the pandemic, and I don't think there's anything you could have done about it. You're absolutely fine, and anybody that gives you shit about it is being unreasonable. Thank you for all of your hard work, I'm excited to receive the book.
I thought up something similar to the Hydra puck, but in the opposite direction. It was a 50 foot tall goose with 5 heads.

Two random cool ideas could be a session were the party try’s to make a peace deal between the two cactus tribes. The other idea could be that the mantis fungal guys being in the under dark with the Mycoids. Also Logan I doubt you’ll read this but if you do then just remember that no one could plan for lock down and it was your first business venture so you were already fighting an uphill battle for the release

I’m pretty bad at these things but how do you get it?
There are so many of these creatures in the book that I love and want many of. You did a great job and I love the way the writing gets a little silly at times. I understand the delays, tons of companies are experiencing stuff like this, don't feel bad.

Logan. You are one of the most genuine content creators I follow. You are being fair towards your followers and customers and too hard on yourself at the same time. I hope this tedious process will still leave you with plenty of inspiration. You still deserve credit for the scope of the project and the heart you put in the creatures is in abondance.
You were not cathaclism proof as many parts of our national and international society were not and things will get better just with everyone agreeing life isn't ideal but real and we are together not alone.

Personally I love the Odeye from the Celestial area of the book (I am one of your backers for it as it caught my attention), because who wouldn't want a blood red raven like creature at their side? And one of my friends loves the chubby little Tulu.
On another note: It's good to see that you are willing to acknowledge that things have turned sideways and that those of us who are backers will have to wait a bit longer, not that I mind at all as either way the physical copy of the book (as well as the cards) will be like an early/late Christmas present for me. I shall continue to wait patiently for the next video and update!

I've been trying to think of ways to get my parents into DnD. Battles with monsters, treasure, arcane mysteries I'm not sure about, but the joys of responsible pet ownership might do the trick

I love the pygmy owlbear (because everybody loves owlbears) from the pdf and don't mind the wait at all. We are still not allowed to meet each other because of Covid, so why would we feel different than you and just wait our time for the physical copy and especially the miniatures. I'm looking forward to painting them.
Ok, if I didn't get a PDF then yeah, I'd be a little annoyed. But after reading the entire PDF, and how amazing and detailed and artistically beautiful it is, I think I can wait 2 months. This is fantastic work, my friends and I are so excited to start integrating everything in the book into our next campaign. Phenomenal job Logan, there's no need to apologize to us like we're your prison board determining whether or not to release you early. Your work shows, and it's amazing!

Tonight I learned there's an extinct animal called a glyptodont, which were basically car-sized armadillos. Anyway I'm buying the book.
