- Good news! There is a way to make your Black Friday purchase of the Monster IlluminEssence LED Strip worthwhile!

For those who purchased the Monster IlluminEssence LED Strip on Black Friday from Walmart, you probably got left with a defective unit. Over the past month, we have been trying to come up with a solution, working with both Monster and the factory that produces the products to identify and solve the issue. However, it's Christmas and we're tired of waiting, and we're sure you are, as well. The good news is that there is a solution!
A new batch of product has been produced and shipped to Walmart stores across the country. We've tested quite a few of the new units and they have all been a success. If you have not installed your strip, simply swap them out at your local store. If you have already installed the strip, purchase a new one at your local store, swap the control units, and return the defective one. The key is that you need to look at the bottom of the box for the new batch number (1929A) and on the control unit for the new batch number (1906).

Jasmine Rose That is a perfectly reasonable reaction. We would feel the same way as well if we hadn't been exposed to the product before the defect. The company is producing a new line, manufactured by a different company right now. We had the opportunity to speak with the team this week and see the new products. They are a far cry from this unfortunate disaster, and the new manufacturer is fully aware of the problems you and so many others have experienced.

your led lights plug ins are probably not in right when you look at the wires you should see letters facing you

Used this to fix a different type of monster led strips. Colors were reversed but working on a 2nd strip. Red button-blue
Blue button- red, etc. Fixed the issue with holding down the brightness/speed button. Thank you!

Thank you for this video and for your time looking into this 😁 I actually took mine back today and got a store credit refund. I went back to look for a replacement and they had a small space led kit that came with the strip, remote, and an LED dimmable bulb which only cost like $14.88 instead of 12.88 for just the single strip so I got that instead cuz I figured for $2 more why not.

For anyone who sees this in the future I figured out what was wrong. the part that you attach the USB to the lights you have to flip it over and plug it together again. Then they will cut right on

I boosted all three kinds. The only ones I like are the ones that react to sound and have a remote instead of the phone app because I can’t use the phone up in my car

I'm just now seeing this; yay! I read in the comments someone else with a defective 1915A batch; that's also the defective one I have. I don't know which was the first as I took it back and exchanged it for another defective unit. I'll go and see if they have any at my local Walmart; I never even removed these from the circular holder. Thanks!!
I was pissed that Walmart wouldn't swap mine out, even though I had not unboxed them. They told me I had to get a replacement thru Monster. The Walmart where I live is a joke, though. Everything is locked in cabinets now and we have to push a button to get anything. And of course no employees ever show up.
I wonder if anyone figured out what was wrong with the defective batch?
Okay, so I figured it out if you didn’t, this also works…
Unplug the connector to the lights (both the usb, the one that plugs into the lights, not the wall plug in) try unplugging, then plugging back in, and if that doesn’t work, all you have to do it unplug it, and turn it the other way and plug it back in, it sounds so simple but it worked for me 😂

Hi, I just got my led lights like 2 days ago and the remote isn’t working for me either. I tried doing what you said, but the lights won’t flash. I can change it once really quickly, but it won’t work after that. H e l p. I’m kind of disappointed I didn’t do my research first

Hello, I have a newer version of this called 1932A. I got it at Walmart like 2 days ago. At fIrst the remote was working fine then after a few days it stopped. I tried pairing it multiple times with the high speed button and it still won’t work. Is there any suggestions on how to fix it?
Ali_Childx Have you tried pairing while holding the remote against the control unit? Some people have had success with that.

i’ve been trying to connect two strips for like an hour and it literally won’t work like bro
I just got mine yesterday and the colors on the strip wont change but the bulb will. The strip is still stuck on white and i just got these today.
That's the same one I have. It doesn't even light up when I plugged it into the USB. It was only $2 dollars...lol. So I should take it back and get another one or just buy a different brand?

Like everything else responds to the remote besides this. and if it does its super delayed. i moved it around in different areas and still nothing. That is a common problem, unfortuantely. There is a big defect with the product. There have been people who say it works if you go through the pairing process, remove the batteries from the remote, and put them back. Others have suggested that holding the remote to the control unit while pairing works. Our recommendation is to try the new SKU instead: bit.ly/MonsterLedStripS

I have 1906 and only been using it for a couple days and I cannot control my led strip. It turns on but I cannot use the remote. I get red ring for each button I press. It would not re-pair.
I just popped batteries out and back in. Did the re-pair dance and it works.. no battery change just out and back in. Very odd. We do have a 2.4ghz 5ghz router nearby. Is it possible there is interference as well?

I bought a small kit today with the led lights and bulb and I’ve tried everything to try and connect the led lights to the remote but nothing has worked only the bulb works and idk if I’m doing something wrong someone please help
Sometimes all you have to do is change the batteries or take them out and put them back in, it worked for me

I have the 16.5 ft for under my bed and I've tried 3 different remotes and cannot get them to pair. They pair with my TV lights and my light bulbs in the ceiling.
I bought the 6.5ft x 3 LED strips in the US last week. I’m back home in Canada trying to set them up, i have tried multiple different sets of batteries and the remote still won’t work. There is no red dot in the middle, which means i obviously can’t pair it. I can’t return this product and i also can’t get a hold of monster to explain what is going on. Seems now like a huge waste of money. Any solution?
madison russell If the ring doesn't activate when you press a button, either the battery or the remote control is not working. This is a different issue from normal. We haven't experienced many bad remotes.
I recently just bought a box batch 2037 A and the LED lights are not working but remote is working steal from Walmart at seven dollars a box do you know how to fix these or reset ?
i hv the 1929A but for the wire tag it says 1908. whenever i plug it in and i try to change the color n so the remote wont work or cooperate w the strips 😭
leslievuee It definitely seems like there are two versions of 1929A. Lots of people have said 1908 is bad as well.

so i have 2 LED light strips in my room and they both connected to one remote and one of them doesnt change the same as the other one even if it turn it off and on one light turns normal white and the other is baby blue it all started when i kept it on for like 8pm-8am and i woke up with it with 2 different colors

I had the prongs backwards and I think others may have done that also. LOL!
I have these lights and when I plug them into my outlet it just turns on sky blue *default color* and when I try to turn them red or green or a different color it doesn’t work. It just stays on default color. I also try to turn it off via remote and still doesn’t work. If you have a solution please reply
How do you get the small space kit so the light bulb doesn’t stay yellow and the light strip is a different color then the light bulb
I tried like 6 times to re-connect the remote to the strips and it finally worked. I suggest y'all just keep trying

I have a good little setup of like 4 light strips and 4 bulbs paired to two different remotes (strips on one, bulbs on another) and the only problem I have is I LITERALLY HAVE TO CHANGE THE BATTERIES IN THE REMOTES EVERY SINGLE DAY lmao. I don't know what could possibly be draining the batteries so quickly. I ended up buying rechargable AAAs just because I was having to buy batteries every week. No idea what this witchery is lol. At this point I'd like to just know I'm not the only one haha.

Why are mine only changing from blue to green? The red side doesn’t work and keeps it blue and the yellow stays green?

So....idk what is going on with mine?? I bought my lights in February they worked fine!! I lost the Remote in March and just found it today!! So I bugged in my light and now the Remote doesn’t work and it’s not the batteries I put a new ones!!

I've got batch 1931A on my box and on the strip I have 1909. It's still not working. I wish I knew this before I got it.
Well I did as you'd said in a video and bought one to replace the piece and bought a few others In that batch and... All but one worked even the 16 foot one will not pair.
Unfortunately, the defect returned, and expanded to the longer one. It's been a real disappointment that the factory did not care about the users. The company did, however, and has switched to a new factory going forward.
My light strip batch is1909 and my bulb is the only thing that works. my box didn’t have a batch number for some odd reason

It flashes? We've not encountered that one before. Perhaps the power supply is not giving it enough power. You might also have a short in your cable. Try adjusting the point where the cable enters the control unit and see if the light stays on.
