Great video. Takes me back to 1984 as a 25 year old starting work on the Railway and based at Paddock Wood. I’ve walked this route many times,checking and repairing DC cables and identifying con rail pots needing replacing. Thanks for bringing these memories back. 👍
If you have a long train. and you have a speed restriction say over a 30mph bridge going into a 60mph restriction. How do you know when the last wagon has cleared the bridge to open up the Throttle Also have you noticed if you like i , speed up the videos. Your much more aware of when you throttle up and throttle down sound wise anyone noticed that.

must note most of your posts ,not many signals changes since the early 70s,lot less whistle posts probably due less crossings.
Looks like Brookgate is not used anymore and Rugby sidings looks over grown.

We have a train length indicator in the cab, that tells us when restrictions are passed...
