Today we're talking about the second story included in the Skyrim Boardgame: Check the boardgame out for yourself: www.modiphius.net/collections/the-elder-scrolls-v-skyrim-the-adventure-game Reccomended further watches: First Boardgame Story: ua-cam.com/video/zWvSt6KdFzw/v-deo.html Interview with lead writer: ua-cam.com/video/8ptEZbm7YZo/v-deo.html Why Dunmer have Ash Skin: ua-cam.com/video/CTP30yLP5y4/v-deo.html
I don't like the idea that the Skyrim Civil War was supernaturally motivated by Boethiah instead of being mere human conflict. I like the genuine ideological split in Skyrim between the empire and the Stormcloaks so Boethiah making every violent is off to me.
I see it more as adding to existing friction, so speeding up a train which was going to derail anyway. Bc some random cult dunmer arent to blame for the independence feelings, the white gold concordat is
It was still the humans who decided to fight each other, and Boethiah just spices things up. He or she wouldn't be call Prince of Plot or the Deceiver of nation, without any reason.
Imagine If the Dunmer you pursue into the portal is the very Dunmer who become, or already is, The Champion of Boethiah, which the Dragonborn slays in order to gain her favour and also to obtain the Ebony Mail. I understand that this all happens during the story in TES Skyrim, but it would be a fun bit of trivia in my opinion.
Yeah, and the reason he left her is because she has no intention of restoring their chimer form, but it was entertaining for her to make him chase the proverbial carrot on a stick.
I hope so much, that the price of the game goes down a bit. It seems pretty cool, and the fact that I could use some of its assets in the (at the moment mostly) Skyrim Campagne in PF2e would be an added bonus.
I want you to know that in the middle of clicking on this video and actually watching it, I dropped a miniature die down my sink drain and had to unscrew the whole drain, letting a bit of absolutely foul smelling water out in the sink drawer, which took me like two hours to properly deal with, mind that this is all to get a small part of a birthday gift back that I got today, because it’s my birthday.
A shame they didn't incorporate Boethiah's Champion into the story. If you hit him with a Calm effect during Boethiah' quest, you can talk with him. You'll learn her current Champion has turned his back on the Prince, now seeking a life of peace and productivity. Would've been cool if he had originally been a high ranking member of this cult, but at some point during the story he comes to realize how twisted their methods are, which serves as the catalyst for his abandoning Boethiah.
While this most likely is not the case, with the newly added Lore from the Boardgame, you could reason, that it's due to these cultists of Boethiah, that the civil war in Skyrim happened. Or at least, that it happened at this point in time instead of later. I mean, if they placed several artifacts of Boethiah in settlements all over Skyrim to instigate uprisings and cause people to turn on each other... that could explain, how the Ebony Blade ended up in Whiterun (can't remember at the moment, if there was an "official reason" how it ended up there). And who is to say they didn't do something similar in Windhelm, causing Ulfric to confront Torryg and killing him in the end, instead of talking with him. Or at least, speeding up the process.
Nope if they want to make an open-ended elder scrolls game that can go back to video games, I'm getting sick and tired of each elder scrolls installment having less and less options than the last.... And less and less exploration than the last. Starfield literally proved they've been sitting on their laurels for the past 15 years just expecting everything to work out 😅
While I enjoyed the video. This plot is very poorly written if accurate. It comes off a bit like a mid fan fic. Two random dark elves were able to find the blades but the thalmor couldn't?

They really made some interesting additions to the world through the boardgame, cheers for making the video!

I agree, but also its kind of reminiscent of the trojan war in the illiad, gods playing up existing conflicts for their own ends.
It could rather be the Cult of Boethiah tried to exploit a pre-existing conflict, which devolved into civil war even without their interference.
It was still the humans who decided to fight each other, and Boethiah just spices things up. He or she wouldn't be call Prince of Plot or the Deceiver of nation, without any reason.
Well it wouldn't be the prince of plots if boetheia didn't have at least some involvement

Finally been waiting for this. Hope you cover the Dawnguard storyline of the Board Game too. Thanks.

Happy birthday. I’m sorry you had to do that
Suffer
Oh yeah!!🎉
So the hero trys so hard to stop the cultists while the dragon born becomes the champion of the deadric princess nice
I really wanna play it but that pricing is ridiculous. I'll wait for a tabletop sim rip
This all reads like non-canon fanfiction. It's like Rafe Judkins wrote a storyline for TES after having read the back cover of one of the games.
It would be nice if they made a new 2 TES novels before the release of TES VI like they did for Skyrim so we can have new canon lore at the very least

Almost sounds like a possible plot for TES6
Can that cave be the cave that holds the stone of the Snow Tower that can deactivate it?
Could be, but that would be strange narrative usage of that cave as the portal had nothing to do with the tower stone.
